    I can't help but feel bias over some lessons over others ,must be something to do with my translucent red 1999 ltd es 335 with black binding !! Great lessons very clearly and very well presented . Thankyou .

      Always glad to meet someone else who probably get asked “what kind of guitar is that? I’ve never seen one with a black binding” all the time.

      @@JameyArent People argue that it is either a knock off or that it is a Gibson studio of which they aren't . I thought mine was an Epiphone copy until I saw the Gibson Logo . Then I went straight to the bank to get all the cash I had ! that was 23 yrs ago ! the killer with it is the ebony fretboard . If your as happy with yours as I am with mine ,then all I can say is what a bonus ! Going back to your lessons , what I am inclined to do is write the tab on a4 paper and then go to the books . It might be slow and old fashioned but it really works. Thank you very much for your kind reply , gratefully received.

    While you’re playing this, are you thinking about the shape to play or which notes come next or something else?

    • @JameyArent
      @JameyArent  Рік тому +1

      When improvising through these boxes, I’m not really thinking about the shapes or what note comes next. I’m more focused on playing melodies since I know my way around well. It’s kind of like driving around your hometown! You know where everything is, so you can just zip around all over town.

    Also, diagonal scales in E are a bit different from other roots . Show us these in A or G ? PLEASE

    • @JameyArent
      @JameyArent  Рік тому +1

      This diagonal scale in E only has one open string note, so it's actually very similar to any other diagonal scale, minus the open string root at the beginning. If you memorize the names of the notes and intervals, not just the shapes, you'll be able to transfer these scales to any key and all across the fretboard. I'd reccomend start just by being able to identify roots of each scale. Enjoy!

    I'm afraid that increasing the length of your patterns doesn't mean you can make music. T-Bone Walker played almost exclusively in one position but made music.
    It's PHRASING musicians need to learn not a longer patterns.
    Why do they call it the BB King box and the Albert King box? They used those notes to create great melodies.

      @JameyArent  10 місяців тому

      💯 agree. It’s all about melody! This is just a tool to learn your way around the neck so you can make melodies in different areas. The same notes have a different timbre when played on different strings.

    Cool guitar! Is it a 339 or a 335?
