- Actor Jude Law became known to global audiences for his Oscar-nominated performance in "The Talented Mr. Ripley." Since then he has received even more recognition for movies like "Cold Mountain," "The Holiday," and "Sherlock Holmes." Law joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss his latest role in HBO's "The Young Pope," where he plays plays a fictional American pontiff.
Jude Law and the director, Paolo Sorrentino, deserve Golden Globes for The Young Pope. This is IMO Jude's best performance of all!

Jude law is a blessing. "The young pope" is one of the best shows I've ever watched.
Very good series. Very intelligent series. No car chases, no fights, no explosions,no surgeries, no cops,lawyers,doctors,fireman or aliens. Very good.
This was such a good series...really compelling viewing and beautifully crafted. I can't wait until series II.

Wrong.... "Filming for the second season hasn't started yet, but showrunner Paolo Sorrentino has been writing the script since at least last October, after the first three episodes premiered at the Venice Film Festival."
Only this will be completely different miniseries. New cast and new title.

After learning from his agent that *he lost his prospective job to a British actor (in a project shepherded by an Englishman himself) which he was vying for to jump-the-ship on a tanking American "remake" of a critically-acclaimed British sitcom (both of those also shepherded by a British married-couple, lead characters from whose hive-perspective the [bigger] narrative is told), [fictional] Le Blanc goes on a full-on Jingoist rant on "Britons **_stealing jobs_** of American thespians" and "an average American (including the very naïve American artistes themselves) stereotypically not figuring-out those weasels nationality until they get to see their RL persona in public"* (summarised).

Judd Law is magnificent in this role. Also, the scenes are absolutely gorgeous. Great script, cast, Director, costumes, etc.
Jude Law’s knowledge on Shakespeare shows he’s not only a good (-looking) actor but also an intelligent one.
It must be very rewarding and exciting for cameramen to film Jude Law…
A masterpiece. Sorrentino is truly the most intelligent and truly faithful Catholic I have ever seen. Law is amazing. An inspiration to all actors. BTW, dear CBS, in the description of the video about Law's "latest role" you should really mention the name of the director.

Amazing series. Thank you HBO for making this, I'm hooked and I want more! I'm saddened it was a limited series.
Don't ya worry! Because..
A) HBO® didn't merely "produced" it! It CO-produced it and in a "rarest of the rare" instance, it doesn't own the show.
B) The sequel with entirely new cast* has been ordered! It's titled "The New Pope" tentatively.
C) It'll air not before sometime in late 2019.
*Hold up! Mr Law will in fact be transitioning to the sequel. Although, details over his character remain unspecified.

CBS Mornings UA-cam Channel, thank you for sharing this. I may have overlooked this previously within the last seven years of this post and I apologize for still not having the courage to watch such a powerful series. This series is reminding me of what I’m currently watching and catching up on within Netflix, “The Crown,” however, this is more Rome. As cinematographic as could be. Not even artificial intelligence could replicate but it does, I imagine the character June Law represents, portray an “American” aspect of peripheral point of view it seems.
Absolutely impeccable acting and directing. Good TV is still alive. It was so good that I don't need another season. Thank you

This show is interesting and smart. No need for car chases, couples' drama or shootouts. Well written characters and great actors make this a masterpiece. I hope they confirm season 3.
