  • Friday Feels is here. This is one of my favourite songs about dancing. It was written by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Stig Anderson and released in 1976. This goes out to all the Bicentennials. I ❤️ y'all.

Rocco Rodriguez He does videos in a number of different styles. Folsom Wizard and the Paste Magazine performances are my current favorites. You should also check out the videos of his live concerts. I always enjoyed his voice and expressiveness in the produced stuff, but didn't become a completely addicted fan until I started watching the audience footage. His skill as an entertainer is incredible.

This song came out around the time I met my late husband.
I quietly celebrated what would have been our 41st Anniversary on August 27.
Today on this day we were on our honeymoon in Nova Scotia.
This song always sends me back to then as we loved it and it was always playing on the radio at that time.
My husband would have loved this version as I do.
Thank you Puddles for sending me back to a much happier time in my life.

I found my Dancing Queen in 1967 while in Viet Nam. On leave that year, I stopped at her home up north, she met me at the airport, no words, just a look, a smile, then that kiss. Welcome home. Only intending to stay for a few days, I was there for two weeks and brought her home with me to Texas. My Dancing Queen. She was with me for two more weeks before I went back to Viet Nam. When finished with the war, surviving several wounds, I went to her and brought her home forever. Abba came out with this song which became one of our favorites. I told her they must have heard me calling her my little Dancing Queen, my love. But then, on New Years Eve of 79, on the way home from a friends party, it all came to an end. I survived once more. I am 70 now, with only one Dancing Queen in my heart, still, after all this time. Puddles, you have made me smile once more. Thank you.

I never imagined that Dancing Queen could be a sad song, but Puddles, oh Puddles, your plaintive vocals and spare instrumentation, at just the right tempo, turned it into an elegy.
    Extraordinary.

I first saw Puddles when his first AGT audition happened to appear a short time after it aired on TV. I don't watch AGT but was very impressed with his audition. It's ingenious that he always appears with his suitcase so it's impossible to forget his name. Like many others, I started to look at his videos and wasn't able to stop until I saw just about everything. I'm not sticking with Puddles because of anything that did or didn't happen on that show.
I was very disappointed that Puddles wasn't able to express his complex talent appropriately because of the manipulative format of that show. I wish he'd been able to leave more on his own terms and not because of the manipulation which obviously occurred but I'm very grateful that I "discovered" him, no matter how. I believe that he certainly could and should have won if his talent had been allowed to be expressed appropriately and fairly.

After puddles first appearance on AGT, I knew he had to be famous. I googled him, went on youtube, and subscribed to his channel (something I was afraid to do, since I am older and don't know some of the computer things like subscribing to channels ....and facebook for instance). He is such a gift. I look forward each week to his new songs on Tuesday and Friday. (And love the older videos, too).

His UA-cam channel is my first UA-cam subscription. My only playlist, which I play daily (multiple times) are his songs. Dear lord, he moved me to write a poem for the first time in 20 years. I adore him as an artiist. And I can't wait to see him live!!!

It's strange, I had a memory of a old girlfriend. Seems like a lifetime ago and I haven't thought of her in decades. I guess it's because she used to love when I took her dancing... Those were the days. Wish I could live them all over again, what fun life was at age 19-22.

think daft punk, there are a few others but daft punk are likely the most notable. they masked up so that they couldn't be recognized on the street, so that they wouldn't become celebrities and could focus on their passion, the music. if puddles went out without makeup nobody would ever know who he was, even with such a simple setup.

I usually don't understand the first time maybe it's so different, but then I listened to it over and over and I could get in Puddles world. Dancing Queen
    ABBA
    Ooh
    You can dance
    You can jive
Having the time of your life
    Ooh, see that girl
    Watch that scene
    Dig in the dancing queen
Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for a place to go
Where they play the right music
    Getting in the swing
You come to look for a king
    Anybody could be that guy
Night is young and the music's high
With a bit of rock music
    Everything is fine
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance
    You are the dancing queen
    Young and sweet
    Only seventeen
    Dancing queen
Feel the beat from the tambourine, oh yeah
    You can dance
    You can jive
Having the time of your life
    Ooh, see that girl
    Watch that scene
    Dig in the dancing queen
You're a teaser, you turn 'em on
Leave 'em burning and then you're gone
    Looking out for another
    Anyone will do
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance
    You are the dancing queen
    Young and sweet
    Only seventeen
    Dancing queen
Feel the beat from the tambourine, oh yeah
    You can dance
    You can jive
Having the time of your life
    Ooh, see that girl
    Watch that scene
    Dig in the dancing queen
    Dig in the dancing queen

The original sounded like a woman remembering her time as the most popular person at the club. Puddles' version sounds like a guy on the outside looking in at the popular crowd wanting to fit in and knowing he never will. So much feelz from this song of all songs. In my estimation, that is the highest form of art.

WOW! Just spent the better part of an hour watching and listening to Puddles who I was just the other day introduced to by a co-worker playing the Pinball/Folsom mash-upo n his phone. Wanting to say something significant that might live up to Puddles artistry but doubt I can come close.
Forget the artistry of the imagery, which it is fantasist in it's own right, and I DO like it. Just close your eyes and listen to the performance! The interpretation of these well known songs on its own is brilliant and amazing and brings something more, fresh, and different to the music. Then add that voice - GREAT voice! I wish I could say it better but to get to the point,
Puddles is outstanding, simply out F 'in standing!
I will be listening to more!
    Thank you sir! THANK YOU!

Okay, I have changed from a person intrigued by Puddles interpretations to a full fledged fan. This was a change from a silly 80's pop song into an ENTIRELY different song. Instead of it being happy, it changed into an introspective sad and heartbreaking song. Wow! Way to go, Puddles!

So creamy and dreamy … you’re melting US into ‘puddles’. I'm diggin' the electric guitar and those smooth octave changes. The song bookends... sighs, coughs and the extra high warm-up "eewoooOOOH!!" … are unique, authentic and add an overall sweetness creating even more smiles. KEEP GOIN’!

I'd never thought of the lyrics to Dancing Queen like this before. It's not about a party girl at the top of her game, it's about a down-and-out Looking-for-Mr.-Goodbar failure of a woman, trying desperately to relive her glory years on the dance floor. Maybe if the stars align just right tonight, she'll get a tiny inkling of that old thrill back, before it all comes crashing down around her again and she drowns her sorrows for the night in a bottle of Jack Daniels.

I've since found myself needing my "Puddles" addiction on a daily basis! I even tried to get tickets to his live show in North Carolina, but they're all sold out 😏, good for Puddles, sad for me!
