Drake: ships for the working man, that can be bought on a working man's budget. Honestly, this is CIG's most successfully designed ship line in universe and in game so far. They allow players to try their hand at everything and they can either choose to go with a more specialized ship after finding their career or stick with the flexible Drake ships. Which I would personally prefer, on the frontier you need to be a generalist.
I wouldn't mind having lights on setting when recalling a vehicle or a light switch inside the doors. I'm to blind to see even with the tiny helmet lights
Since you asked so specifically for it: Yes, I liked the Lore Tour videos. I'm always looking forward to them because I enjoy the updates on lore of the manufacturers and their ships. In fact, I was a bit sad that there were a few manufacturers missing in the Lore Tour of last IAE (at least they didn't show up in my updates and when I looked for them I couldn't find them) So the only thing I can really say about the format is keep up the good work Paul. Perfect score, 5 out of 7 would watch again.
This one made me sit at my pc and switch my starfarer to a caterpillar and buy a cutlass. I might be a drake fanboy down the road. The simple utility is starting to win me over.
The Cats tractor beams, turret arcs and armour let alone the down the line modularity make her too useful not to have as a hauler. Cutty Black won me over as well as a daily driver between her passable cargo, tractors, turret, fantastic missile paoad (up to 48) and her handling.
Personally loving this series so much, Paul! Keep them coming! I've never been into lore in other games but thanks to you I am in love with the lore for Star Citizen. Also 32:03 "from my favorite from Crusader Corsair" haha that made me laugh
I absolutely loved this series. If I had the time I would tour with your video so I could have the lore while exploring each ship. If you did this for every event I would watch all again no question.
I look forward to these ILW, and IAE walk throughs every year. I think you do a terrific job touching on the lore, of the manufacturer, and what's available on the ships. Long time fan boy of your work though, I must admit I listen to every episode of your Galatic Historian series at least twice a year. You do wonderful work here Paul, thank you for being my gateway into the Star Citizen lore. (No joke, I've only heard the lore of SC spouted from your lips).
@@TheAstroHistorian I've been a supporter of SC since 2012 with the Kickstarter. Watching the evolution of this game has been both frustrating and inspiring. I'm finally actually plating the game regularly and revisiting the lore thanks to you. I'm amazed by how much has developed and been expanded in the lorr aspect of the game as well. Thank you.
I do hate to point this out, but the UEE Navy DOES have a Drake vessel in service! To quote Whitley's Guide on the Cutlass Red: 'For the Cutlass team at Drake, the ultimate mark of its success occurred in 2895 when the United Empire of Earth purchased an order of three hundred Cutlass Reds for use as fleet support.'
Oh man !!! ... with that music at the start i did imagine how to pump this Drake - con up with armed dancers and ofcause the Cutty purple XD ... great choice Paul !
Ahh the Dragonfly. You can launch them in space and land them on planets. Drive right into a major city. I have participated in races that require such.
I love these videos especially when you go into the history of each ship. I had no idea what drake was like, and this is exactly the video I'm after. Keep up the good work mate. Liked!
Nice to see some positive comments about the Cutlass Steel. I still think it is an overpriced pledge, but that ship is so "Drake". I would love a option to remove those seats. - But why don't you buy a Cutlass Black? There are no seats. - Because I want a "overgunned" Cutlass Black.
Thanks for the video. Definitely think you should keep them up for the big events, Invictus and IAE. I think it's a great way to introduce newer players to the game, ships, and lore. I also enjoy them as there's always some new developments in between events for each manufacturer.
This was great Paul. I love the unscripted style and your mistakes :-) "I love this ship from crusader - the Corsair" lol Please keep doing these reviews.
Did you forget to mention Drakes lack of safety equipment. no escape pods and ejection seats? understandable considering its not really something we consider right now as ships just tend to Pop
I really hope that the cutty gets modularity at some point, I'd replace one side door with an airlock and add the rear turret from the steel (probably losing a tractor beam there, but pew pew) Your videos are always good, I hope CIG flesh out some of the gaps in the lore for some of these ships. I still want to see a 24hr pre-recorded twitch stream of Star citizen lore on a loop masquading as Radio Stanton :P "The Universal Time is 1800hrs, latest weather reports at New Babbage indicate it's cold! Shocker! Now for Drama at six, the story of the fall of the Messer regieme" "The time is 2100hrs, Crusader Security asks us to inform all travelers to avoid the Moon of Yela today due to increased pirate activity, tune in at 2200hrs for a statement from the Advocacy, for now our panel will discuss the changes Imperator Addison is planning for the empire"
Awesome vid as always bud, thanks... Backing since 2015 & ever since we we able to actually fly our ships my Cutlass Black has been my daily driver & this coming from a MSR owner. Also love my Bucc, bit of a glass cannon but gets the job done & obviously when I saw the Mule I just had to get one it's stupidly cute....
To me, Buccaneer feels like DRAKE's answer to Crusader's Ares class fighters. Built for "hit-and-runs" against things much above their weight class. It's just placing even bigger guns onto it, would probably compromise its structural integrity. :D
Paul I have a question for you it's about a bit of an inconstant bit of lore if you go into grim hex there is a poster for croshaw jumpers 64 with a date that's xx/xx/64 The only issue being ether that's 90 years old or they issue out posters 10 to 12 years in advance
the door in the vulture cockpit is a glass doorthats why you missed it its not in the wall its in the side of the glass opens out to the ship side and the ladder
"The Navy doesn't buy Drake ships. Any. Zero." A common misconception, but not true. In 2895 the UEEN purchased 300 Cutlass Reds to be used as fleet support ships, and has been purchasing them in small batches ever since. Source: JumpPoint 8-2
The Toyota of SC. Even the lore lol. Utilitarian, rugged, easy to fixed, and unmatched reliability make Toyota trucks and SUVs a favorite of 3rd world militias of very rugged regions, terrorist groups, organized crime rings like cartels (pirates lol). Not something Toyota did intentionally, like with Drake lol. Toyota even uses the same platform for all their modern body-on-frame trucks, just like every Drake is a Cutlass lol My father had a career with Toyota Motor Corporation (Japan), so I can't help but see the similarities 😂 The Caterpillar was supposed to be my mini Endeavor, to hold me over lol. STILL no modules lol

Would be nice if they brought back the interior ship lights being on by default for show floor vehicles.

I bought a c2 first and I wish I got the caterpillar first it's such a good hauler

I love Drake, everything from the lore, the style, the design choices to each of the ships
Imm not a big fan of Drake ships, but I cant disagree that they are good ships. The lore on all these ships is so interesting! Thanks man!

I love these loredumps, keem them coming as you are my primary source of SC lore!
I loved your floor tours. I was literally closing my eyes and yawning when you "Yeah you, open your eyes for a minute". LOL
Love all the Lore reviews you do. Please keep it up. The line of systems from Stanton to Vega would be cool.
Awesome job as always Paul. Notes or no notes, you always add some flavor to the black.

Yes, love what you did here. More please.
I lost my mind and melted everything but my bmm Perseus and hull d and got the drake complete pack
lol
I just want Polaris, Reclaimer and an Odyssey, How we will gonna play this game without the NPCs with these big ships ? help me my friend
i would have done it too if there wasent 2 kraken in the pack

Lore tours are aways great. I can't wait for you to get bigger into producing lour stories which are done in the game. Like Machinimas.
Drake needs to offer free Duct tape to everyone who shows up to the Drake event....
Drake would be proud of that intro.
Always nice to listen to your ramblin'. 😉
Love the lore videos for sure. In short, yes do more. 👍

Drake interplanetary… If Harley Davison built Starships.
MOAR please.
This was great! Just makes me want the Kraken out even more lol.
man i love your videos!
I'm pretty sure you only called the Mule a Mole once! Congrats on surviving another grueling tour season o7
That intro, though!
I aim to please

i saw that a few days ago and thought holy shit they planned ahead far af!
@@hazzyharris yeah I wonder if the date the game was set has changed
I really miss the DefenseCon floor.
I find the ramming story kinda awkward considering how amazingly slow the Cata is.
Nice intro 👌
the door in the vulture cockpit is a glass doorthats why you missed it its not in the wall its in the side of the glass opens out to the ship side and the ladder
Corsair is a heavily gunned raider
random bits of text to simulate a comment to feed engagement to our overlord, the almighty algorithm!

A common misconception, but not true. In 2895 the UEEN purchased 300 Cutlass Reds to be used as fleet support ships, and has been purchasing them in small batches ever since.

Then it's an error that CIG propagates because otherwise DrakeCon makes no sense as Drake would be invited to Invictus as they are part of the UEEN
In game lore vists! Explore landing zones and tell me why specifcal
Did i like it: Yes.
just waiting for the vulture and salvage to come to the pu

8/10, forgot the Cutlass Purple.
