- Using Lightning Lane Multi Pass at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim is completely different than using the version at Walt Disney World in Florida. It's actually a lot more like the old Disney Genie Plus system. In this video, we'll share our BEST tips, tricks, hacks and strategies for making the most of this newest version of the line-skipping service at Disneyland and California Adventure. From setting the system up and booking your first Lightning Lane to park hopping, stacking, optimizing the Tip Board and (of course) "playing the slots," you'll be a Lightning Lane Multi Pass pro on your next visit to the parks.

This is perhaps the MOST helpful video on visiting Disneyland. Most others I’ve seen are for folks familiar with the Disney world.

Other videos may just verbally run through it, no mention of stacking, or how to deal with the cancelled LL reservations. Hi Rob and Erick, So glad you got the chance to explain the experience redemption system , it actually is my favorite way to “ play the slots” when I’m at Disneyland. I look for rides that are temporarily closed that have pretty close availability times and hope I luck into an experience redemption pass. If the ride comes back up and it isn’t really a high interest I can always modify to something else but having a number of experience redemptions is so convenient! Our best experience was on last Easter Sunday when we scored six. Very satisfying. I also like that the lightning lane system at Disneyland included any photopass opportunity not just ride photos. Oh, and it’s not part of lightning lane but we’re big fans of the single rider lines at radiator springs.

Man I know I’m late to joining this video but the cast members were so awesome in this video for you guys. This was an amazing video I will use it on my next trip to Disneyland I’m sure.
My family and I visited the Disneyland Park after Christmas 2024. I purchased LL MultiPass for my wife and me, and my daughter got her own LL MultiPass. We were limited to booking one ride at the outset. In other words, no stacking. After taking each ride, we could add only one ride following that. But we could indeed add one more ride every two hours. However, playing the slots resulted in my booked ride ALWAYS being moved LATER, not earlier. I ended up with the scheduled times for most of my lightning lane rides pushed out to the evening and night hours. On the other hand, my daughter never played the slots and booked every two hours, so she got into lightning lanes periodically about every 90 to 120 minutes throughout the day. But again, no stacking! Stacking seemed to be the main attraction for LL MultiPass. Without it, I’d think twice before purchasing it again.

You saved us for our WDW trip in May. Now you are going to help me rock our son’s special 13th bday trip with only mom and dad. We are also doing universal so we only have one day to park hop at DL and DCA.
Question: Can I be stacking LL’s for DL while I’m in DCA? I’m thinking yes as long as the return time is after 11am….

Really love the explanation part of this video but pretty bummed that a ton of ride spoilers are included. I wanted to learn how to make the best use of my day but didn't need to see tons of footage or storyline of the rides. Takes some of the fun out of it for newbies.

Rob, thank you so much. We are heading to Disneyland in a few days and have not been since the conversion over to the Lighting Lane. We have used Genie before and of course the old "fast pass" system. My question for you is when you entered California Adventure as part of your early admission you were allowed to go Radiator Springs BEFORE the 8a parking opening. How did you do that? Normally they have barriers set up at the through points to get to the majority of the rides and don't drop those ropes until the park opens for the general population. Did this recently change? If NO which path did you take to get to Radiator springs. Any help is greatly appreciated and thank you again for your video it helped me with a lot of new tips on how to use Lighting Lane Multi Ride Pass and how to run the slot machines.

The answer to your question is: Yes, everyone has to tap-in at the entrance in order for you to be able to book for everyone.
Rob, I was in WDW last week after one year of watching your Videos. Thank you for all your help. It was so great. The only thing that I was missing is running into you somewhere 😉
The lightning lane booking was really easy in this week. I was able to book tear 1 rides late in the evening. Even the "my day" modification to pin rides on the top was not neccessary. Rope drop wouldn't have been neccessary at all. We did it anyway😂.
But after our trip I have two questions
First: is Eric a MemoryMaker Photograph? I am not sure if he took our photo in front of the haunted mansion on the 28th of August. 😊
Second: I really thought it is possible to book a virtual queue for e.g. tron, tiana or GotG twice a day. But for tron I did experience that when we got to the ride in the morning the App showed at 1 PM no one of my party is eleightable to book this ride... did I do something wrong or is it possible to ride it only once a day?

2. Since the VQ for Tron will be going away soon, I will give the example with Guardians:
• You can book a VQ Once. Unless you are staying for an event in the parks (like Extended Evening Hours) then you will have another opportunity at 6 pm.
Oh boy... If I only knew 😢 then I would have taken a photo from you 😉.
After you took our photos I realized "Hey this guy looked like Eric". So i asked my son to run back and check your name tag but you were already shooting the next family... sooo sad... you meet your Favorit youtuber and you realize it too late 😢

Nice job on this video. Very informative, but I have one question. Is it best to use one Disney account on both our phones or two separate accoounts. I know boh phones can be linked to the tickets but not sure if using our single accoont or wife creating another is best. Thanks!
Hi Ray - thanks for watching! Either method works. We typically use separate accounts that are linked as that is the “correct” way to do it, but you can always use the same account on multiple devices if that works better for you.
My wife and I were at DL four weeks ago and used the lightning lane app for both of us on one account with the app on each of our phones. My wife only used her phone to tap off on rides. I handled the ride booking. It caused problems with the app acting up and not doing what it was supposed to. We complained to a Customer Service lady who advised that doing it that way caused the app to become “confused” between the two of us. She did offer to add one free lightning lane ride to our app that we could use right away. Next time, I will try it the “correct” way.

Hi Rob! Our family has been waiting on the edge of our seats for your Disneyland video. We met you a few times at WDW, and knew we’d visit DLR before your planned visit. The whole time at DLR, we wondered “what would Rob and Erick think about using LL for this ride”. To be honest, we were surprised by how many rides at Disneyland that are not bookable in LL. And, with all the single rider line options for popular rides at DCA, we thought LL is way more necessary at WDW than DLR. What do you think?

Hello, can we buy the multipass lighting lane and use it on both parks Disneyland, DCA if we have park hopper?
Can you modify the Haunted Virtual queue once you have made it? Is it best to do the 7am quere? What if you start in CA Land and you can't hop over to DL until 11am, but you queue gives you an earlier time?
if you use an experience redemption at a different attraction then originally booked for example goofys. Can you go back and book goofys again. Or if you want to ride the ride that's down do you need to save it for that specific ride since you can't book rides 2x? thanks.
So--you cannot be at the hotel, and stack LLs for later in the day? (We won't arrive until late afternoon on our 1st day!)
Hi Jessica! At present, no - not unless you first tap in at the park and then head back to the hotel. I have heard a rumor that Disneyland may change it to be more like WDW and allow advance booking of some kind. 🤞

If you have a new MagicBand (the kind you charge), then it will work. You just have to add it to your park ticket in the Disneyland app.
Stick to Disney world or else everyone is going to be using this there will be no point.
