@@RestoreIt Thank you for sharing this awesome journey with us! The E30 is one of my most favourite cars, especially as i live in Munich, where it was built :)

I have been watching your channel for a long time and I admire you for perseverance and the enormity of work you put into this project. Greetings from Poland.
This is the one channel that as soon as I watch the new video, I always check to see if I’ve somehow missed a new episode in between - but alas I’m always disappointed to find I’ve actually seen them all and will just have to wait patiently for more new content. I might have to binge re-watch all the vids again after the whole car is done.
Absolutely jealous (the good kind of jealous). You’re living the restoration dream. Great, great work. Wish I had the time and the body to tackle this level of work…because I sure as hell wouldn’t want any help. 😂
That gearbox came out amazing... The prep work and masking up you put into it paid off. Please as other say though make sure you do the required mechanicals, oil, shifter, release bearing etc. No good looking shiny but being mechanically weak. Good work
The bit you didn’t no how to take off on the engine wiring look, it’s the big black nut that keeps it locked down on the bracket. Can’t wait to see the end result🤘
Best videos ever! I'm buying tools slowly as I see you using them! Addicted 😀!! Busy with my car, small bits of restoration. Thanks for inspiration guy!
To all those saying “he should’ve done this” and he “should’ve done that” I have some advice for you. Buy your own parts washer, paint booth, materials and your own project car and then take all the time and energy it takes to not only DO all this work, but take time to film it for others to enjoy and then post it on youtube. THEN and ONLY THEN do you have a right to tell someone like this what he “should’ve” done. So easy to type a “know it all” comment, lots harder to actually get off your a$$ and do something yourself.
You don’t have to have cooked a meal to know if it tasted good or not. Likewise, you don’t have to meticulously restore an E30 like this man to tell him if he’s doing it right or not. Sure it’s his project, sure he doesn’t have to listen to anyone. But this is UA-cam and it’s a place for people to share ideas, including criticism. UA-cam would be such a shitty site if people were only allowed to say “Good Job!”
Looking good. I see in one of your comments you are getting new seals for the gearbox... they cheap and removing the gearbox is a pain so better to do them now. As for replacing anything inside the gearbox... if shifting is still smooth... doubt you need to do anything on the inside, but you can change the oil anyway. Never know what might have happened while in the previous owner's care and you can look for any big metal particles/bits which might indicate a problem. You can do the same check with the diff. Although I'm quite jealous of you being able to do this, I really want to see it done. Great work.

Next full engine build, you should spray each component a different bright colour, emphasise the level of detail you've gone to! Pink, yellow, purple, blue, orange, red would be sick!
So, why are there downvotes? I mean, this channel is so niche specific and the execution of the restoration so attention-to-detailed, why would someone watch it and not like it? I mean, if it is not your thing, don’t watch it. If it is, how do you not like it?
One thing you absolutely should do is change the gearbox oil, because going threw everything, painting everything and not changing the gearbox oil would be insanely stupid
Ida scraped that skid plate into a garbage can and save my solvent for more appropriate cleaning. When you put it back together get a new pressure plate, clutch, pilot bearing, throw out bearing and slave. You'll be glad you did if any of it's bad. Also, replace the rear main seal on the motor and have the flywheel professionally cut. I did transmission work and clutch work for 20 years.
