Simple Silicone Mold For Surfboard Fin Tabs

This is a fairly simple and easy mold to make, for casting surfboard fin tabs onto homemade fins. I have used this method of creating fin tabs for several years. I've mainly used to create future fin tabs but it could also work with other fin tab types. The tabs of the fins don't come out perfect but they come out close enough that it drastically cuts down on the amount of sanding to get the fin tabs to the right thickness. The other benefit to the mold is it has two spots for fins and an adjustable arm, all of which are in line with each other. Designing the mold this way with the two molds having the front of the tabs are facing each other. It makes it possible to cast fin tabs on a pair of side fins at the same time. Having the tab fronts face each other makes it so both side fins come out with the same amount of cant and the cant is angled to the correct side. The adjustable arm makes it easy to change the cant for different fin styles and it can be easily tightened so it won't move on its own.
For the silicone inserts you need:
100% silicone caulking (kitchen and bath section at the hardware store)
Cornstarch
A container for mixing
A stir stick
