I owned a 2007 Street Glide and loved it, sold it and bought a 2019 Road Glide Special and would never look back. The RGS really handles better on the road. Now there are a lot of changes between my 07 and the19 besides the faring so I am sure that's no all of it but I do honestly believe the shark nose is better on the road especially in the wind.
Key word a 2007 been compared to a 2019! Is the same bike! You feel such a different because of the “600” years difference between your old bike and your new bike 🙄🙄🙄🙄
@@RM-ww5td It's almost like he mentioned that... Here let me quote "Now there are a lot of changes between my 07 and the19 besides the faring so I am sure that's no all of it"
I live south of you in the Olympia area. I currently have a 2020 Road King. Due to Covid I haven't been able to put as many miles on it as I would like (mainly because motels and restaurants were closed down). I have the basic Road King with a windshield for obvious reasons. I do not like fairings, seems (to me) like a car front end on a bike. I can, however, see the allure of the faring, to each his/her own. Ride free.
Got a 20 RKS. First non fairing ride I've had in 14yrs. Don't do the trips, club runs, etc. anymore. Stay within usually an hour of home at THE most on a ride in Myrtle Beach. Im almost 60 now. First time I hopped on it and looked down at it, I became a 19yr old all over again. BTW David should think about running for office somewhere....we need an answer bro, jk, good stuff. Out.
Been watching UA-cam vids for years. Just bought my fxbbs from emerald city. Great place and ill check out some of your vids. David is a hell of a nice guy.
Same bro. Just traded my 2020 king for. 21 glide. I’m glad I realized that’s what I wanted before I dropped all this money on the engine. Getting it fresh off the crate in a month
As a Scandinavian guy I want a Harley Davidson. I like the face of the Road Glide with the Double lights and "Shark"nose seen from the front but my problem with it is too much Honda Goldwing over its presense when experience it from the seat...
It actually helps with wind buffering, with the dash vent open the air actually creates a updraft pushing the wind higher over your head. Really you don’t know any difference unless at freeway speeds.
The main thing I don't like about the Street & Road glide are the soundsystem and gps you can take your Cell phone with good earbuds and put them to shame. Take all that bs off and add a reverse, Lane change awareness indicators. On all of them you have to add aftermarket wind Deflectors for head buffeting. Road King, add lowers, fork mounted wind Deflectors and recurve windshield you're protected remove the windshield 5 seconds and you're riding naked with no under helment buffeting to rattle your brain.
Great ideas for sure. The specials come with low profile crash bars and I haven't seen lowers made for them yet. Personally I ride a Road King and don't have any of the fancy stuff. I heard the gps isn't great as well. When I test rode these bikes I felt the sound system was really good.
I have a 2019 RGS. I installed a 6 speaker rockford fosgate sound system on it with lowers. Very little clearance between the upper and lower fairings. My question is this with the fairings mounted to the frame will I be able to put a 21" wheel with a lowering kit on it?
@@BarricadeRides even though I have minimal clearance now. What I'm thinking is that because the upper and lower fairings are attached to frame (unlike the street glide), I should be able to lower the bike without affecting the clearance between the fairings. On a street glide with how the upper attaches to the handle bars and struts then i could see it being an issue. But I don't know, im not a mechanic
@@BarricadeRides 2021 is the first year with the mini crash bars. And you're right lowers wont fit on them. There's a few things taken away from the special. Compared to the 19. But my 19 came with the normal size crash bars. Also went with FBI 16"x1.5" bars, TAB Zombie exhaust stage 1 kit, lepera seats a solo and a 2up, and a 30" cycle visions sissy bar. The wheel i want is a 21" RC components savage wheel.
A windshield can be added for $200 bucks. I have 55k miles on my '19 RKS with windshield and fork wings. Great protection and I can ride 12 hour days with no problem. 10 seconds to remove the windshield if you want to go naked.
@@BarricadeRides definitely, I haven’t got either yet, still saving. Keep on trying to figure out which one between the two but I keep on get drawn back to the Classicness of the Road King

It really is! Thank you!
I knew it!!! Basically the same bike. Either no fairing no music or fairing and etc. thank you again.
THANK YOU for watching!
I will have all 3 soon. I started with the 2019 street glide. Love it. My next one will be the road king. It's just a sexy bike. Road glide later.

It's a fantastic bike. Congrats! Thank you for watching!
“Gotta ride them both. Gotta get them on the freeway” this is invaluable advice

If I could only have one bike, it would have to be a Road King. But since I can have 2 . . . it's CVO SG for long rides and a Deluxe for around town.
That sounds like a legit setup! Thank you for watching!

What are the advantages of keeping the vent closed or open if the while the wind flows or doesn't flow, through the vent?
