@@vincere9425 Samsung took responsibility by correcting the problem Apple took responsibility by letting people turn in their bended iphone for the same iphone
Imo the real problem isn't the bend itself, it happens that some products created with cheap material or wrong design has problems, the true problem is that Apple knew that from the start, they knew their products were not good enough to resist a simple pressure on the screen and still they sold it, made the customers pay for the touch id and others damages caused by that and only now, years later and after a huge lawsuit they indirectly admit by internal papers the problem, that's the problem in my opinion, when you try to hide to your customer the truth.
Punisher r youre an absolute nonce, the iphone 6 and 6s are thinner than the 5s and have a larger surface area, of course its easier to bend its like saying lg have a tv’s are prone to dead pixels when you throw a brick at it its such a ridiculous argument , there were many phones that bent at the time, such as the galaxy s6 but no one remembers that. They just remember the best selling phone of all time.
dannyyy - You can say what you want, i'm saying statement written by Apple itself, if you make a Phone slightly thinner and larger BUT 5x/7x easier to bend, i repeat FIVE TO SEVEN TIME, not 100% but 500%/700% more likely you already know (and the internal papers tell that) that phone probably gonna bend, not all of them of course but still too many of them. The example with the tv it's random bullshit, when you'll find internal papers about "yea we made a tv 0.2mm thinner then the model before but if you let the tv on for 5 hours straight you'll get pixel burnt all over the panel, but anyway we gonna sold that" at that point you can match this up. They used the wrong design, used wrong materials and they knew that, no excuses, i'm not a Apple fanboy or a hater, i'm a normal men that know Apple knew (lawsuit statement from internal papers) stop, it's not an opinion dude, it's the reality. I don't see any other lawsuit against bending phones so i really don't give a fuck about other companies in this case.
I don't really care one way or another. But from personal experience selling and fixing phones. No other phone would bend as easily as the 6 and 6+. Not to mention when it did bend even slightly sometimes the screen would have touch issues. But yeah obviously thinner phone easier to bend, still a pretty shit design.
Travis Pierce Yes but i don't think that's the point, i don't want to be disrespectful but already at day one it was obvious to Apple the truth, they had designers (?) who informed with internal papers the issues, the real problem (imho) it starts with the price of repairing and the behavior of Apple about the bending. Thinner = easier to bend of course but they used wrong design and materials, their statement. Anyway thanks for your story, i appreciate that
About the same time LG had a phone out called the FLEX. Apple misunderstood and thought they needed a flexible phone too, but things didn't quite go the way Apple thought they would. Turns out aluminum doesn't have the spring of some steel alloys.
"If all I ever did was come on here and tell you what you already knew, that everything was great, and that's all I ever said, my usefulness to you - it goes down. So when you try to beat me into submission and say, 'You're just a hater' how does that serve you better? You can't fix something until you identify the problem." Respect.
copied from the person above you. xPLAYn 11 hours ago Okay, after reading some of the comments about the whole situation, I think the waters need to clear on the Apple/Android debate, so here's my opinion: Apple's products have a lot of potential. They have very user-friendly interfaces and work to keep their phones look good and work well for less tech-savvy users. For me, it doesn't matter much but for others, it matters a lot. User-friendliness is very important for a lot of people, so Apple's products make sense. Where Apple goes wrong is their execution, primarily after Steve Jobs. While I feel that Steve Jobs was an absolute jerk of a man (after reading his biography), I do feel that he brought a lot of important elements to the company. Older iPhone models work well, and hold up like most other Android and other phones of the time. After Jobs, quality became sorely inconsistent, with some phones and other products doing well while others doing terribly. Sometimes even if you buy two of the exact same product they can vary vastly in terms of quality, which is quite sad considering that they have a lot going for them. If Apple worked out their QC problems (or at least admitted to them) then they would have much more respect from me. However, one final glaring issue remains: Apple's continuance to push quick turnover on their products. Now, a company, of course, should be encouraging their customers to buy the new latest and greatest product, as it's a smart business decision in general. However, once again the execution of this is the problem. Apple has not only come out with phone-after-phone with marginally-better features (and sometimes removing ones that most people want or need), but they even go so far as to attack their older phone models so that you have little option but to buy a new one. Here's an example: Currently, Apple has a function built into older iPhone models, such that after a year or so of use, the overall performance of the device will drop significantly. Now of course phones wear down as time goes on, but many developers and others looking into this have confirmed that inside every iOS source code is a code group that records and keeps track of how long the phone has been used, to the point that you cannot reset it with a factory reset or an iOS update. Once the counter reaches past a certain point, it triggers a function inside the phone that, on a hardware level, jams the phone up and slows down the processes on the phone itself. Another example is the repair market. Like it or not, Apple's products do break like all other products. So, of course, you'd want to get it fixed. But sadly that's a nightmare with Apple. First of all, even if it's under warranty they may still charge you; second, they sometimes won't even fix it, regardless of how much you're willing to pay. Furthermore, they go after third-party companies that offer services to fix the device (while claiming zero affiliation with Apple and recommending you try Apple first in most cases) and try to say that by fixing it for the customer, they are counterfeiting the device, which is absurd. An example: iPhone screens are known for breaking more easily. This is because of the glass they use, which while premium and virtually scratch-proof are much more brittle. Now, users try to go to Apple to get them fixed, but in many cases, Apple refuses to fix it. So then, those customers go to third-party companies, who sell third-party screens that they will put inside the phone (they state clearly that it's not an Apple screen, but a third-party part, and also make it different to Apple's screens so as to not be making the same product). However, Apple's newer iOS updates now scan for a special code inside Apple screens, that cannot be duplicated in any way. When iOS detects a third-party screen, it essentially bricks the phone. This is so unacceptable for someone like Apple to do. With a market filled with users who are less tech-savvy by default, surely you would expect things to happen to your devices. So making a product that breaks more easily, due to its premium features, selling it to less tech-savvy individuals, and then blocking them from fixing it as much as possible is a terrible marketing strategy. I know of countless people who used to like Apple, but the minute they tried to get one of their devices repaired they walked away completely from the company. Boom, loss of sales. Now look, I'm not saying that Apple's products are stupid because ANDROID IS BAE. No. I think Apple has the potential to make great devices for those who need things simpler, more premium, and with ease of access and use. But, they keep shooting themselves in the foot, to the point that it's practically luck-of-the-draw if your device will last 6 months or 6 days. If Apple would just wise up, and at least ADMIT to these problems (like Samsung did for the Note7), then they would get so much more sales, and probably tip the scales in their favor. Sadly, as of right now that isn't the case, and the market has responded. To date, Apple's percentage of the market has gone down significantly in recent years, because of people getting fed up with inconsistent performance and quality, slight upgrades for steep prices, and awful customer service. If Apple expects to stay around for a long time more, it needs to make thesde changes, and I hope they do. I love a lot about Apple's products, and when these changes are made I will be happy to buy from them.
NoThrottle 2 Anybody in the repair industry has awknowledged that some of Apple's internal design decisions and even how they went about repairing products have been god awful even since the early mackbooks. They rather put some rubber over top a component than resolder the piece. Android is a great OS and so is iOS but Apple has been shit in the hardware department for a long time now. Its hard to say the same for Android because Android phone manufacturers are literally dozens of companies with no single company responsible for the entire ecosystem unlike Apple products. The android hardware decentralization also applies with Windows devices.

when i first got my iphone 6, i knew about the bendgate but didnt really think much of it. i was tight on money and had to just get a cheap case.....a month after that i tripped and my phone flew in the air and landed on the sidewalk. i picked it up and the screen was cracked and then i check the rest of the phone and the headphone jack and the metal around the volume buttons were bent and my headphones wouldnt go in. so i remember this video and that you bent the phone with your bare hands, and i said maybe i can fix this. well i pressed and pushed and i was able to bend the metal of the phone back into shape to where my headphones would go back in. So for all the people who doubted that Lewis faked that video, i was able to bend that metal with very little force. So thank you Lewis for making that video and giving us the knowledge that you can bend your phone with your bare hands.
Ya know there is a guy on UA-cam names Louis Rossmann he owns a repair shop that specializes in apple repair. My 6 Plus has touch disease. I went to Apple to see about upgrading, but admitting that it had touch disease disqualified me, despite the fact that it was their fault. That was the weirdest part of the exchange, the schizophrenic state of the 'genius' in both admitting a thing and refusing to acknowledge it at the same time. Wonder if I can sign on to that lawsuit?
"phone in my pocket and it bent" - meanwhile, in the real world, i fell off my bike last winter, slid 10 meters ass first and the most damage my N8 took was that the camera fascia was shred to the plastique underneath. Cheapo phones = cheapo experience you pay for. I paid whatever the N8 was marketed when it came out in Finland (always bought my Nokias from them) and this phone paid its value to me a gazillion times, back.
I replaced my Iphone with Samsung GS9, and why? Because Iphone doesn't have music player with equilizer. And on top of that they force me to use their itunes, i can't just use USB to transfer files to Iphone. Iphone is not convenient for anything, it is a phone with hardcore rules. You have to do things their way. And then i have to use a cloud service to upload my songs which take forever. For 229 songs i had to wait a very long time to upload to VLC iphone dedicated file transfer service. And even VLC doesn't have an Equilizer built for the Iphone. I'm very happy with my SGS9. It has Dolby Atmos already built in, including an Equilizer, UHQ upscaler for enhancing the sound resolution, Tube Amp Pro for simulating the soft timbre of a tube amplifier, Concert hall for the reverb, Music/Movie/Theater settings for even more apt quality sound, an Adapt Sound to help me find the suitable sound quality for my age, i'm 30 but i use the 60 year old setting, it opens up the sound wider which is very goood. There are thousands of settings on any Samsung phone to satisfy my senses. Iphone never had this priviledge. The Iphone is a jail cell experience, it has nothing of a goody goody. I'll throw away an Iphone any day! Throw it away!
What people need to understand is not necessarily that the phone will bend in half, but that due to it being less rigid, the board inside gets damaged from all the flexing, and over time it leads to the touch dying.
I’ve owned an iPhone 6 for close to 3 years and it never bent. I believe it is weaker, but you have to take care of your phone properly. Good stuff Lew :)
Etienne Dore I had the 6Plus for 4 years and finally the other month I had the touch problem... I believe if you use the phone regularly, the phone will have failed eventually. Because of bendgate I bought a strong case for the phone which made it last longer (I believe)
Really ? well ... i feel pretty dead inside with all the money i have but ... i didn't know that i was litterally dead ... and we are working on making our systems more flexible as our competitors ... i think ...
Twister Jester722 Mistral Its the only problem of Apple, its so stubborn and never accepts their mistakes at earliest. I guess, Apple is correct, consumers biggest mistake is to chosen iPhone over the competition.
Roxor 17 Exactly I watched the Tim Cook interview in Nevada and when he talked about that controversy he said "When we did put out the battery management message, we did say what it was but I don't think a lot of people were paying attention". I felt so angry at that. My loyalty towards Apple and buying my first iPhone in 2015 and my first iPad in 2017. All my years of buying Apple products and using them and this is the thanks I get. D Mack That's why no one likes android fans, they the saltiest bitches in the world. Enjoy your laggy os that will only get an update once in its lifetime.
and y'all still shit over Android without any good reason, just the same shit I hear all iOS users say. I actually want y'all to give me a good argument on why Apple is generally better than an OS.
Look Apple's OS was build for specific for its own products making it optimizable. While Android is open for many cellular devices and other device (like roku) making the OS less optimize. Also since android is used by like millions of devices its hard to get the brand new update to each phone (like Android Oreo). Although Androids may have better specs then Apple products, having that optimization makes ios more smooth and crisp... A lot of people prefer that.
While Apple's software experience may be pretty good, you're essentially being loyal to a company that *will* screw you over if you get a defective product, and in some cases, screw you over on a warranty repair.

dannyyy - You can say what you want, i'm saying statement written by Apple itself, if you make a Phone slightly thinner and larger BUT 5x/7x easier to bend, i repeat FIVE TO SEVEN TIME, not 100% but 500%/700% more likely you already know (and the internal papers tell that) that phone probably gonna bend, not all of them of course but still too many of them.

Eman C. As a company you have to make sure that your products undergo certain tests before releasing them. The bending was 100 % Apple's fault.

Okay, after reading some of the comments about the whole situation, I think the waters need to clear on the Apple/Android debate, so here's my opinion:
Apple's products have a lot of potential.
Here's an example:
Currently, Apple has a function built into older iPhone models, such that after a year or so of use, the overall performance of the device will drop significantly.
An example:
iPhone screens are known for breaking more easily.
Eman C. A constructive criticism, basically. I find that too many people nowadays just regard everything that sounds negative to be a hate speech.
Not sure what's happening but one love❤

Anybody in the repair industry has awknowledged that some of Apple's internal design decisions and even how they went about repairing products have been god awful even since the early mackbooks.
Can we go back to phones that didn't break on both sides when dropped, had an easily removable back plate and battery? Remember Samsung S5?

Honestly what have any other phone companies innovated with.. theres a reason theyre the richest company in the world and the most selling phones of 2018 so far are the iphone x ,8,8+,7,7+ then a galaxy s9
The reason is that there are sheep ready to buy every new thing that comes out with an i in its name.
dannyyy - Apple might have been the inventors but they are behind with almost every technology in their phones... (Facial recognising and so on)
dannyyy - wrong. They're not the richest company in the world. Unless you're talking about the tech market

The iPhone 6 is more bendable than a gender.
*slow clap*
when i first got my iphone 6, i knew about the bendgate but didnt really think much of it. i was tight on money and had to just get a cheap case.....a month after that i tripped and my phone flew in the air and landed on the sidewalk. i picked it up and the screen was cracked and then i check the rest of the phone and the headphone jack and the metal around the volume buttons were bent and my headphones wouldnt go in. so i remember this video and that you bent the phone with your bare hands, and i said maybe i can fix this. well i pressed and pushed and i was able to bend the metal of the phone back into shape to where my headphones would go back in. So for all the people who doubted that Lewis faked that video, i was able to bend that metal with very little force. So thank you Lewis for making that video and giving us the knowledge that you can bend your phone with your bare hands.
Dude, you can't really say you were ''tight on money'' if you could afford the last iphone model.
A Bal I had a 5s and than something happen to the battery and I had to get it replaced and they just gave me the iPhone 6
Ya know there is a guy on UA-cam names Louis Rossmann he owns a repair shop that specializes in apple repair. As much as he makes money he busts out Apple a lot for the scummy practices apple takes part in.

TheTinyPigeon i dont get it. The iphone 6 is quite easily bendable. So what ? What im missing here ?
Joe Tyler dude the thing is that Apple knew that they're phone is more likely to bend
Touché
This is what a call honesty. keep up the good work buddy
This video made me appreciate Lew 10x more thank you my friend for your honesty!
What people need to understand is not necessarily that the phone will bend in half, but that due to it being less rigid, the board inside gets damaged from all the flexing, and over time it leads to the touch dying.
My iPhone 6 just bent from watching this
Meanwhile jerryrigeverything is grinning watching this video and feeling proud.
'Anjaana' 'Mimi' why would he be grinning, Lew came out in the open with this
because some of the other phones he durability tested bent just as badly, if not worse than that
We're not far off bendy phones anyway, apple will probably spin it into their history like it was an innovation they meant to do.
piquetuk lol yeah like when samsung comes out with the galaxy X the bendable phone apple will say our iphone 6 came out first and can bend
I’ve owned an iPhone 6 for close to 3 years and it never bent. I believe it is weaker, but you have to take care of your phone properly. Good stuff Lew :)
still using it today, and never has any issues. best phone i have ever had
Extremely lucky! I used mine for a year but had a miniscule bend which caused me to not receive any cell service. also know another who had this issue
I keep mine locked in a safe at the bank.
Etienne Dore I had the 6Plus for 4 years and finally the other month I had the touch problem... I believe if you use the phone regularly, the phone will have failed eventually.
Because of bendgate I bought a strong case for the phone which made it last longer (I believe)
I bent 2 of them and they had zero scratches, had a case and were taken care of.

So there was the iPhone battery CPU slowdown in December , now this bending. Makes me wonder what else Apple is hiding or keeping in the dark.
Twister Jester722 Mistral Its the only problem of Apple, its so stubborn and never accepts their mistakes at earliest. We know everyone makes mistakes, Apple employees too did it, its ohk enough, but not accepting and blaming their consumers, who trusted in Apple and bought them, done mistakes right? I guess, Apple is correct, consumers biggest mistake is to chosen iPhone over the competition.
Roxor 17 • Exactly, they never admit when they are wrong. I think they see themselves like the unfailable perfect ultimate tech company in the world.
I mean everyone has there personal opinion about what i they like or need.. I personally prefer Apple then android.. soo you just do you :)
While Apple's software experience may be pretty good, you're essentially being loyal to a company that *will* screw you over if you get a defective product, and in some cases, screw you over on a warranty repair.
Bendgate is how Samsung got inspired for curved screens :p
