a huge market being overlooked for these engines in the mower, generator ,and construction equipment markets . propane combined with the small platform these engines offer would be amazing . parts availability from ford dealerships would help with being a preferred selling point .
Mowers don't end up with car engines. Not the money for it OR the emission requirements. Here in Australia we have had 100% propane only ford factory built vehicles. I own one. Cranks longer to start but grear for high mileage. The engines are actually higher compression than standard with parts taken from the sports version.
The small engine market is already dominated by Kubota, Yanmar, Honda, Kawasaki, Kohler and Briggs who’ve been building these engines for decades. Mower engines are totally different animals to a car engine, they’re built to run at full rpm constantly and give maximum power, car engines are not designed for that. Yanmar and Kubota dominate the liquid cooled diesel and petrol small engines out there and they’re ultra reliable engines. Kubota have been offering bi fuel engines for a while now capable of petrol or LPG fuel operation and Kawasaki, Briggs and Kohler have been building EFI engines for years too.
Slowest looking engine production line when the cameras are there. Guys who have worked on ford engine production lines tell me its very fast paced work.

Ok kid, the ford 998cc ecoboost, makes no 'woosh' sounds, nor is it 'growly' it's as silent as ever, where as a subie, is all 'growly' with its 2500 cc turbo boxer 4 motor, all 'growl', and lots of 'woosh'. What’s bad is in a year or so O O THEY HAVE A PROBLEM THAT REQUIRES MAJOR TEAR DOWN,AND A CORRECTION WONT BE MADE FOR 5 years.then they will come out with the all new vido of the next great engine. Sorry Ford you have a track record

Thomas Silsby then I stand corrected, may be good on flat lands, but I live in the Rockies and will not take wife’s car corolla on the hiway, cause if you need to pass someone it can be dangerous.
I've only had my focus for 10k miles. I have the 6 speed manual trans. If you know how to shift then it is very peppy. You can keep it in the power band and it will surprise you. But it's still only a 3cyl. I keep having to remind myself that time and time again. It's not ment to go fast it's ment to save me money. So far I'm happy with it. Cheers.
This engine is turbocharged. Now, if you know anything about petroleum fueled engines, normally aspirated engines will always lose some fuel efficiency and power at higher altitudes. But when fuel is pressurized, the amount of power lost is less than 2%. This leads me to suspect that your knowledge of engines is rather limited....
