How exciting, making syrup from your own trees 🌳 ! You live so well! What a lovely home you have made for your family! Now you should show us how to make our own toilet paper!!! And the sweet interaction with Olivia!!! I found myself smiling so big!!!
Was lovely watching you collecting the maple syrup and making it up and the banter between you and Gina. Love the ice-cream fun time with your daughter. Gina you are a very good artist, love the signs you make for your homestead. Have a great day.
Gina, great job on everything you do. The sign was really cleaver. Both of you have raised your daughter to know animals, dignity, imagination! She is so adorable! Really nice homestead!
this was your cutest video yet. I am still grinning. Thanks for making my day and I am glad you enjoyed the ice cream. Have a good weekend and be safe.
1.25quart=.31 gallon /11gallon of sap =.028% yield of syrup.Very labor and time consuming.Made with love! I appreciated the education on this. Thanks and Peace from Minnesota
💕💕💕💕💕💕 Great video!!! All the way from feeding animals to collecting sap, making syrup, surprising Olivia at Sweet Treats to the delicious stir fry! Wonderful family. Made me want to pull up a chair!
I love Olivia selling her imaginary treats, but her giggle over the real thing was so sweet! And I loved the maple sap boil and Gina using the syrup in her stir fry sauce. And the dogs, and Figaro, and the smokehouse sign. This video was chock full of goodies!
Well, you sure surprised Olivia with the ice cream treats. That maple syrup looked really tasty. Gina, your smokehouse sign looks awesome, doing that lettering takes a steady hand. Always enjoying the goats. Have a happy weekend. and as always; God bless.
Great video. Gina you did an awesome job on the smokehouse sign. That was so sweet putting the ice cream in Olivias ice cream stand. She was really surprised. Such a sweet family. Have a great day!!
Just received my first order from Farm foods. Thanks for the discount! Olivia has the cutest giggle. She's gonna miss her icecream stand when the chicken take over.
Great job you two. Awesome that you can have your own maple syrup. Gina...awesome job on the smokehouse sign. You are very gifted. Wonderful contribution to your farm. We had 73 wonderful degrees yesterday, winter storm tonight. 🤷♀️ Northern California.
My family did 150 gallon 3 day boil first load of maple syrup this year. 2nd & 3rd boil coming supplement the farm income vary well along with the bee hives
Thank you folks... Great trick on Olivia with the ice cream treats. The look on her face was priceless! Nice work on the sign, I really like it & you deserved a tablespoon of the syrup for yourself afterwords in the kitchen. Warm maple syrup on vanilla ice cream, life doesn't get any better! I rtnd from Lowes in Littleton a couple hrs ago with a 2.25 HP Bosch router, the KREG K4 Master System & a 675 asst. of KREG screws & a bottle of Titebond Ultimate glue. I too will be making a sign in the near future... Bill on the Hill... :~)
The syrup looks so good! Takes a lot of sap to make that little bit of syrup, but some is better than none. Will taste so good on pancakes and waffles for sure! I loved that you put the ice cream in for Olivia to find, such wonderful memories for her. Spending family time is always priceless no matter what you are doing. Love it! Loved your smokehouse sign Gina and your stir fry looks amazing and so yummy!
Is there anything you guys can't do? Wow! You guys are living the dream! Wishing you & yours many blessings and much peace. Thanks for sharing your lives with us. This is what life is supposed to be like...living in harmony with Nature with love and respect for all she provides. 💙
Hi guys I've been watching you for a few years now. I just wanted to say I love your enthusiasm the love you and your family share with each other and God bless you.
That was a lovely video Al, Gina’s sign for the smokehouse was grand and the little trick you both played on Olivia with the ice creams was so special. You are such a great family - God bless you all 🇬🇧
Start most everyday with my coffee and your videos. Really enjoy watching you all with the daily chores. Especially enjoy watching Gina cook just wish you'd share all the measurements with the ingredients so we can make them too, everything looks so yummy!! You all are SO BLESSED!
Good job Gina on the sign for the smoke house! wow maple syrup looks good. That was so cute for Olivia with the fudge cycles . Good Job Al and Gina to surprise her.
That crazy Figaro, all the animals are loving the spring weather! Us human animals too!! Our snow and ice has completely melted in lower Michigan. Yay!
Glad to see I’m not the only one who uses clothes pins in the kitchen. I use them to hold my parchment paper in place on cake and loaf pans. Only till I get the batter in of course. Great job on the sign. Love your channel. Thanks for all the great videos.
I didn’t know you could draw Gena! You guys are so talented. You work so well together. How did you meet. You seem so blessed to have found each other. God bless you. Jean from Arizona 🌞🐍🦎🌵🌴🦂🌻
I wish we stayed on daylights savings time year round. Always enjoy watching the maple syrup process and Gina that stir fry looked delicious! The sign was perfect as was Olivia’s face when she found the ice cream treats. Those are some of my favorites!😊🐖🐤🐐
Yes it was. Olivia is such a beautiful young lady. I got a joy to see a young lady act her age. They doing a great job raising her. The memory she will never forget.
Great video! The smokehouse sign looks awesome! Great job Gina! Loved the ice cream trick on Olivia. She looked like she really enjoyed that. Her giggles are so sweet to hear. She is growing & gets prettier all the time. Al, you had a mischievous look on your face when hiding the fudgecicles. I love the time you take with Olivia to use her imagination. You’re gonna have to build her a playhouse before she gets too old to enjoy it. My dad built us one when we were kids & we spent many hours in it. As we got older, it just became a place for storage. Yours could later be used for many different things on the farm. Loved watching the maple syrup process. Of course, I always love seeing the goats. Keep the great videos coming! Blessings on y’all & your homestead! Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇨🇱🇺🇸👍❤️😁🙏
That was a sweet surprise for Olivia today♡♡♡bet that really tickled her! Thought the boiling down of sap into syrup was very interesting. I was surprised at the volume of sap needed!
Awesome to see this today! Been researching making my own syrup at home and stumbled upon one of your older videos about a week ago...I immediately recognized you guys from the local coop as I’m a meat guy there! Thoroughly enjoy your contributions and insight, finding your channel has renewed a passion for creating my own “micro-stead” and taking it beyond hobby. I live just over the river in VT, tapped a single large maple in my front yard and yielded about 7.5 gallons of sap this past week. Boiled it off yesterday ...it took me 8 hours total on a Loco fish fryer burner, in my homebrew kettle, finished in the house....needless to say I’ve already invested in one of those Bayou Classic Dual Jet Burners..Thanks for the helpful info!
always loved this time of year as a kid. my grandpa use to pour through a hardware cloth sieve to keep the big ice chunks out. that much less water to boil off :) now we grow sugar cane
I want to say that your doing a great job raising your young daughter. Glad to see a young lady act her age. To many young girls act like they grown. Keep up the great job as parents.
I've made several batches of syrup. The temp is important, but leave the lid off so the syrup can reduce and thicken up. PS. Beautiful job on the Lumnah sign Gina! Pss... I loved the end.. Nice gag. Olivia is such a rockstar, and she seemingly enjoyed the nice twist. Good fun :)
Hahaha! I listened this am because I work early on fridays, so I watched just now to see the syrup being made! Liked the video and saw the number change from 3.9K to 4K! First time I've seen that happen. Loved the Smokehouse sign Gina!
Another pleasurable day at Lumnah Acres.Making maple syrup, tending the goats and chickens, giving Tanner a mule ride,Olivia playing and just being a kid having fun, then Gina making another yummy dinner.Oops almost forgot......Figero being the overseer of it all lol.
I did it... 9 1\2 gallons made less than 2 pints but such a wonderful taste! I'm a farm girl in a suburban body and I watch you guys every day. You inspire me to do what I can. Thank you for sharing, there is so much I have done that I have learned from you. God bless
I live in Alabama, we make sugarcane syrup, much of the same way, we have to squeeze the cane juice, it runs into very large vats, that has a fire burning under it! I have never seen maple syrup made. Thank you!
I live in Alabama but my twin sister lives in New Hampshire and ever since she's lived up there every year at Christmas she sends me fresh maple syrup I have never ate syrup out of a store she called me yesterday and told me that she was sending me a gallon of fresh homemade maple syrup that you just got from a farm yesterday morning so I can't wait to get it so I can have it on my pancakes good job
Gina; the sign is awesome and the stir fry looks so delicious. I could just envision the smell of the maple syrup. Olivia's Sweet Treats stand is so awesome. Memories of a lifetime you all are making. Much love from OHIO ❤️❣️❣️❤️
We always lifted out the frozen sap, let it drain a bit and threw it out. It's pure water and you then have less to boil out. However, we were tapping 20 to 40 trees, so that made a lot more difference.
Hey you people, I've got the pancakes ready, bring over the syrup. I've never seen that sap processed, but here in Maine I do see the buckets hanging. Nice job on the sign! That was such a nice surprise for Olivia at her sweet shop.
I thought I heard, a long time ago, that it took 10 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup. I guess I heard wrong. 11 gallons of sap makes 2.5 pints? I loved your surprise on Olivia, that was a lot of fun! There's that Irish Nicholas Mosse bowl again. I have got to find myself one! Blessings to all.
It depends on how much sugar is in the sap, but on average it is about 40 gallons of sap to one gallon of syrup. This year the sugar content is low for me, it takes 60 gallons of sap for one gallon of syrup.
Enjoyed watching you and Gina boiling the sap to make syrup. That was a beautiful sign Gina made for the smokehouse; really stands out on the door. Thanks for sharing. God Bless you all.
It reminds me of when I was a kid. We used to cook the maple syrup in big black cauldrons, on a wood fire outside. The cauldrons would hold about 30 gallons of sap. After cooking down, the kids would get the last of the syrup. It was real thick like molasses . We would get a cup of snow and them pour the syrup over the ice, It was awesome
Nice first boil!! You guys will do very well this year! I think some kind of a home brew maple syrup baste for some of those Lumnah Acres raised pork chops!! That sign was AMAZING!! Yes, the PERFECT touch to the smokehouse! My Gina would say it makes the smokehouse POP!! 😁 Olivia won’t know what to expect the next time she opens the ice cream stand!! Bet the NEXT video is gonna be a WEE bit wetter!! Rain in the forecast brother!! Stay dry! Thanks for sharing!
Nice job on the smokehouse sign, Gina. It looks great. Al, it is interesting that the goats don't like walking on the path where the snow is all melted but rather walk on the snow. Thanks for all the interesting videos. Blessings
The 1st time I tasted Maple Syrup was on pancakes at the Meyersdale Pancake Festival while on a fieldtrip with my school eons ago. We made it to Whitetop, Va. to enjoy the Maple Syrup with a breakfast fundraiser, but never got to see it made, it was too cold that year. Thank you for sharing this Al. I never knew the liquid came out clear, (nor how you got it out of the trunk,) then turned while cooking. Do you think you may grow cane for Molasses one year? It is time consuming, but delicious! A lot of the old timers have gone on now, hardly anyone left that still makes homemade. Gina you are very gifted. Beautiful sign! Delicious looking dinner! We do have delicious honey here!
That syrup has made me hungry.....I will have to go warm some up for my waffles. Dinner looked fabulous. Loved the little trick with Olivia at the Ice cream place. I'm afraid she is not going to want to give up her store. Better start another build for the chickens. Have a Blessed day.
Got my daily fix of Lumnah Acres. There is not one thing about your videos I don’t love. Wish I could smell and taste that maple syrup. Dinner looked delish. Have a great weekend.
How exciting, making syrup from your own trees 🌳 ! You live so well! What a lovely home you have made for your family! Now you should show us how to make our own toilet paper!!! And the sweet interaction with Olivia!!! I found myself smiling so big!!!

You have great skills Miss Gina, Real nice sign....
Thanks for sharing the fun at Lumnah Acres!💕
You'll are awesome parents. Love your videos.
