I think it would be fun if you asked Olivia to come up with a project of her own using your wood scraps. Of course you’ll have to supervise & teach her how to make something but I think it would help her feel more included if she has a project just like her parents. You should compare it to DeWalt because that’s the same brand as your saws, you know they can make good tools so it’s less of a risk than getting something completely unfamiliar
Morning Al. If you get a float level working on the water tank, all you would have to do is make up a adapter to hook the hose to the water tap at the sink. Then you just turn on the cold water tap & fill the tank in reverse. No need to clime up. Depends on if the tap nozel at sink has threads.
When I was young we used to sit around the radio and listen to the serials now being on the twilight side of 76 I cant wait to watch Lumnah 'acres on my computer whilst having my breakfast and marvelling at all the tools available, that we never dreamed of, plus the progress of Lumnah Acres and the family that make it all possible...top of my list...
I bought a dewalt electric saw just for brush cutting trimming. And it is ideal for my small property. Let Gina test a dewalt... Just wanted to tell you that a first under side cut of any branch is paramount to keeping the full cut from tearing back bark on the main trunk or remaining tree limbs. Cutting closest to the trunk enables healing cells there to close up the new wound. Also it keeps any insect and diseases from entering the tree . Looking good over all. Cheers from a master gardener! Just seen Gina give you the answer to what comes after 8? Then she doesn't miss a beat and says 9. I almost fell off my chair laughing... Play it again Al!
If I was you Al I'd be thinking of the "Dewalt" simply because you have so many "Dewalt" tools you've got spare batteries to go with it, keep up the great work. Neil, Chatham, Kent, England
Al, water tank...add rigid plumbing along wall with cut off at hip level. Run to top of tank, install float value in tank. Restrict any opening around where it goes into tank to prevent pests. No climbing to refill, simply cut on/off supply line at hip level, possibly install way to drain, to winterize.., New Project!
I recently saw a comparison video by some lawn care guys. They had a Milwaukee, a dewalt, an echo and a stihl. They had the smaller dewalt saw and they liked them all but the stihl seemed to cut faster and the motor seemed to rev higher. Really thinking of getting a stihl after seeing that so I’d live to see what you think of a stihl.
I was watching our Wyoming Life, he has a project board in his barn. I bet that is a handy tool to have to help keep track of all the things that you need or want to get done.
I've used the Milwaukie m18 electric chain saw, and it worked very well. The battery life was very long lasting, and it had no issues cutting through big leaf maple, red alder and firs and hemlocks. It's on the speedier side of about 425 dollars, but it does amazing work.
What made you decide on Harbor Freight chain saw because I researched and the DeWalt is cheaper......just asking because I need to cut a lot of tree saplings and my husbands gas saws are too heavy for me to use for any length of time.... Anyone have any suggestions for a reasonably priced leaf mulcher..... my birthday is in April and my five kiddos always buy me a Tool.... lol....I love my tools...👩🏻🌾👩🏼🔧
Great to see you working on your farmer's tan already! As you said, the battery operated saw is great for working on those 'light' cleanup jobs, but one still needs a gas engine for the bigger jobs. Nice video, thanks.
Well,no advice about chain saws, lol,I know nothing about them. But when I watched Gina brush the goat I could relate.I love getting my hair brushed. Then dinner time rolled around and I could smell the ham, yum. Also the potatoes,I like to mash red skins with the skins on and use the garlic also. The ham left on the plate is a hot ham sandwich for later.Love you all.
You would fill the water tank much quicker with just the hose without the squirt nozzle. The nozzle increases pressure, but severely decreases GPM flow
So personally I have a Milwaukee BEST In my opinion! I love it runs for ever around 2 hours for trimming! Slides right through wood light weight love it buying another one
We do the time change here. Fortunately this week which is nearly over is Daniel's Spring Break so we could sleep as long as we wanted. We're night owls so we prefer late bed times and waking up when we naturally do. I prefer waking up slowly so I can memorize the dream I just had it it was a sweet one (my inspiration is long gone). It's 72 degrees for the high today but Spring doesn't officially start until the 19th. We got more rain than snow this Winter which is like our last two were. Think it only snowed here two or three times which melted or got washed away the next day.
Food looks delicious and I was able to completely understand Gina. Great job! I make your recipes and I like that they're easy recipes and always yummy. 🤗
Hi Gina Have you tried dirty mashed potatoes?Leave the peelings own. Add a a good amount of bacon bits. With your asparagus wrapped them in aluminum foil add some butter and some garlic put them in the oven you won't need a pan. I do like them roasted too.
Burning brush kills my back. I roll on a tennis ball afterwards. Hot bath and two Advil. Does the trick. Job well done today. Bummer to have to keep recharging. Lots of good recommendations today.
I've really enjoyed my 80v Kobalt from Lowes. It has great battery life (I have 2 batteries to interchange). I read article on SEVERAL battery chainsaws a while back and while the Kobalt was good, it was not the best of the lot. Can't remember who was. I also have the 80v string trimmer so it's great to have batteries for both devices.
I've been wanting to ask this question. What is that round green thing that is tall? You threw some of the wood near the end of this video. Great video, diffrent things going on.
I've been watching these vids for several years, it seems, and where I once enjoyed the farm chores, I skip them now. Willow is getting so big.
AvE has already done a DeWalt evaluation and found it vastly inferior to the Milwaukee. I have used an Oregon Electric for several years and find it very useful in my suburban yard. I think the biggest factor is having several charged batteries available for any particular task.

I wonder if that Atlas battery is lithium ion or Nicad? Lithium batteries are supposed to deliver full power from full to near empty. Maybe something to do with it warming up on the charger in your climate? You can use the flexvolt DeWalt battery in the 20V tools as well when weight is not an issue. They dont fit in the DeWalt radio I have but most everything else. Expensive though

Would love for you to try out a Stihl ! I'm needing a small chainsaw to clean things up around our place. I would love to see your reviews, it'll really help us make a decision. Thank you!!
since you have Dewalt try the Dewalt. Better to have one or two battery brands than a bunch. cuts down on the amount of chargers you need. as mentioned below you already have several Dewalt batteries. I lean towards Milwaukee M12 tools myself. have been very pleased with them. would stick with Milwaukee for myself.
We have this meal and for the ham gravey I use 1/2 cup orange juice, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1tsp. vanilla, and 1T. pure maple syrup. I am telling you get the stihl. It cuts a ton on a battery and has same power with full batt or half full.
Consider which manufacturer have most range of battery operated yard tools should you chose get more tool for pruning and trimming ect.
Goooood morning to everyone!!!
I’ve been watching some of the videos from last year... 10 & 11 months ago. So fascinating!
Have a great week!
Al, what is one of your big Spring projects you have planned? I'm getting excited and ready for action.
I have a DeWALT 12". Cut down some pretty big branches with it. Many the size you are dealing with. It's very light and easy to handle in the brush.
I recently saw a comparison video by some lawn care guys. They had a Milwaukee, a dewalt, an echo and a stihl. They had the smaller dewalt saw and they liked them all but the stihl seemed to cut faster and the motor seemed to rev higher. You should try the Ego 56v chainsaw. I have the lawn mower and have been using it for 2 yrs love it and the battery is amazing.

Al we keep the Dewalt 60 volt in the work trucks to cut the timbers in between the steel loads works good for us always better with full charge
Hey Gina, you can reduce the liquids down to make a glaze. JO JO
You would fill the water tank much quicker with just the hose without the squirt nozzle. The nozzle increases pressure, but severely decreases GPM flow

Would a Wood Chipper not be a good investment for the Farm, Animal bedding, Garden Mulch, Paths?
Good Morning! A Stihl saw is the best for cutting trees, that good little under grow but a big boy job a stihl, making progress looking good.
We do the time change here. Fortunately this week which is nearly over is Daniel's Spring Break so we could sleep as long as we wanted. Try arrow root to thicken gravy. It makes clear gravy and better taste.
We have the Milwaukee at work (Excavating company) and it works great. Only 18 volt I think
I've really enjoyed my 80v Kobalt from Lowes. It has great battery life (I have 2 batteries to interchange). Could you use the water from the creek somehow for the anamils?
You already have the Dewalt batteries for your other tools if you buy the Dewalt with another battery they will fit all your other tools as well.
Battery test, loosen up the chain so it sags on the bottom side of the bar, penny test between the bar and chain.
Stihl battery powered chainsaw would be my recommendation to compare. Not sure which model is comparable though as they have several
I've been wanting to ask this question. What is that round green thing that is tall? You threw some of the wood near the end of this video. Great video, diffrent things going on.
It's a plastic roller brush for the goats to use as a scratcher.
I’d love to see how the Dewalt compares and if it’s compatible with the rest of your Dewalt battery tools.

Is there an option on the electric saw to blow bubbles?
I got kobolt 80v and a elec trimmer the batt are interchangeable
DeWalt . You can use the batteries on your other tools
AvE has already done a DeWalt evaluation and found it vastly inferior to the Milwaukee. I have used an Oregon Electric for several years and find it very useful in my suburban yard. I think the biggest factor is having several charged batteries available for any particular task.

I have Makita DUC254 and have been very pleased to it. But you seem to have Devalt used on your shop so recomend you to have devalt saw as well. Just because of batteries.
Having 2 batteries one can be charging while working with other on minimum down time when time counts
Makita advises running the battery down to the bottom bar before recharging. To do otherwise isn't good for the battery. Or so they say...
Kobalt makes an 80v at lowes that looks pretty good. For 299 you get saw and battery and charger.
Looks like you enjoyed that warm sunny day! I’m looking forward to seeing the sugaring!!
WOW!!! Never thought of making pineapple juice gravy for my ham steak!!! Thanks, Gina for the awesome idea!!!
The STIHL MSA 220 Battery Saw is awesome - check Outdoors with the Morgans .

Get the Stihl, from what I've seen it seems to be the saw of choice especially with the bigger battery.
Why don't you your leaf blower to get your fire going like you did last year? That seemed to work good.
I have a STIHL MSA 120C and love it
Hello Al. That is the best part about video. There is no time. I watch in my time.
Stihl MSA 220 Battery Chainsaw
I have a lynx and it works great
Had the opportunity to watch some of your older videos yesterday. While watching the root cellar/ walk-in fridge build, I had to chuckle about your locking Figaro in the bathroom for his own good. I know a few people that have a Stihl and really like them, but they also have two or more batteries, but they are not close to chargers.
Gotta love the convenience of the power saw. Need to cut something really quick you squeeze the trigger and it's done.... no tugging on a rope, no smelly fuel. Same reason I switched to a battery powered weed wacker and leaf blower 2 years ago.
It is such a nice convenience
Lumnah Acres I love my Worx trimmer, blower and pressure washer. Great tools. They also have cordless chainsaws in 10, 14 and I think 16 inch sizes.

The old apple orchard appears to be root stock suckers. Just wondering if it makes good smoking wood? Apple smoked home grown bacon, yum! Carl Calkins - Lumnah Acres have used Apple wood to smoke bacon in previous videos.
Make sure the batteries are interchangeable. Extra batteries mean you can charge one and keep working.
I have a question. Why do you break off the apagasse ends instead of just lining them up and chopping the ends off? I like aspagress but have never prepped fresh spears.so sorry if it’s a dumb question but I honestly don’t know if there is a reason or if that’s just your personal choice. You should have a wood chipper to add to the organic matter of your pasture.
I think a battery saw would be handy for small quick jobs. If you're cutting down a tree the gas power is still the go to saw
You could put a toilet bowl valve in the water tank and use permanent water pipe then set and forget and on the outside of the tank put a water level indicator using clear pipe.
pete jones - There is no water pipe to barn as the ground was too rocky to trench below their frost line.

Al, try a new Oregon chain on your electric chain saw the one that comes with it is marginal at best. I think
it will cut faster and have less battery drain as well.

I looked the Stihl battery powered chainsaw up and found it to be Stihl battery powered model MSA200 C chainsaw. I would recommend this one.
Shihl.is the best all we use here in Australia never have a issue.though it's the fuel one u need not electric.
Rebecca Ryan he already has a husquavana which is a Stihl just another brand in the same group.
