This is why I love your channel. I’ve heard this song hundreds of time but this was the first time the “you start with fire but you lose the flame” line stuck out. Thanks Jamel!

Bob Seger and his band used to take the stage at the outdoor auditorium at the Michigan State Fair every September before he sold his first record and we'd gather on the bleachers and listen for free. :D

Jamel, Bob Seger has 18 studio albums. He wrote about 90 percent of the music on them as a whole. Very impressive.

This is the Bob Seger song i connect with the most. My best friend was a bit of a wild one, dating and socializing were what she lived for. Our relationship finally became romantic after 7 years, but not exclusive. That summer i would listen to this song and think about the day. She married me, 4 1/2 years later. Our 27th anniversary is in 2 weeks.

It is actually one of my top 3 favorite songs of his. It is so underrated. It is actually hard to find. When Bob FINALLY started putting his music on iTunes for streaming or buying to download, this song wasn’t there. I kept waiting and checking back. Finally his Greatest Hits (80s pub date) became available and it was on there. I love the lyrics, piano. But it isn’t one people typically recommend on these reaction channels.

By the time I met him, he was just a nice older man. Seemed a bit out of his depth at this fancy party with dozens of people around. His wife was obviously the one who organized it -- she was running around making sure everything was going smoothly. Daughter was a gawky redheaded kid with braces, looked more like Bob than her older sister.

Bob Seger seems to create the perfect song - the realism in the lyrics, the backup singers, all the instruments - drums (off the chain), guitars, piano (love the piano in his songs, it gives ithe songs so much character each time), and the keyboards as well. I'm a Soprano, but as i've gotten older (56 years old), there are times when my voice does not want to go so high anymore. But this morning, with the background singers, I'm hitting that high note "Oooh, oooh, you'll accompany me" - hitting that high "me". lol Great reaction as always!

One of these days....Warren Zevon . He was one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century! On Dylan's short list. Try The French Inhaler first, or Poor Poor Pitiful Me, or Desperadoes under the Eaves, or Accidentally like a Martyr....I could go on man...every song is a poetic masterpiece. 🎧♥️🎵✌️
