Today on Acrylic Pouring with Friends - Art by Tracie Reed I am doing a LARGE canvas commission piece :) I think its a Split Base Masterpiece!
This acrylic pour painting demonstration is intended to be an overview of the Split Base Technique. If you would like to learn more about acrylic pouring, discuss how to use this technique, feel free to leave a reply in the comment section below, and I will answer.
The paints I used today:
Base:
Soho Mineral blue mixed with Pebeo Iridescent Blue Black
The Fine Touch Gray mixed with Vallejo Pearl medium
Amsterdam Prussian Blue
The middle colors:
DecoArt Peacock Pearl mixed with Golden Fluid Acrylics Turquoise
Amsterdam Napthol Red Deep
DecoArt 24K Gold
Amsterdam Titanium White
My paints are mixed with my pouring medium, which is 50% Liquitex pouring medium, 40% Floetrol, 5% Golden GAC800 and 5% water.
No silicone was added.

How do YOU mix your paints please?
Hi June. It depends on the technique and the paints . For this painting specifically, I think I used 1 part paint to 3 parts pm.
I’ve never thought to a swipe this way. This is just gorgeous with your outstanding style🥰

Congrats woman !! This turned out AMAZING, great color choices 👏👏👏!! I really really like the Napthol Red & gold on the Grey base, it really pops & caught my eyes immediately !! I bet the red with just a whisper of the gold & your cell activator would look really pretty on the grey base with your magical blow out technique 😉😉 !! I gotta get caught up on all your videos I've missed over the past month as soon as I get my head un-jumbled a little. 😥💙💙💙💜💜💜 Oh & GREAT idea mixing the grey with the pearl. !!! I love that stuff. I sooooooo need to get back into pouring, YOU really keep me inspired !! 🤩🤩

Pouring again would definitely help right now I've just had everything packed up for a while during the never ending new house hunt & keep losing my motivation to unpack some of it. Lol.
