@@strhaivenswr That’s awesome and I’d love to hear how it works out. I really love these color shifting acrylics, there’s just so much you can do with them! Thanks for watching! 🙂
First of all respect for the large canvas. I like using the folkart color shifts, they work really well with all cell activators. I just did one with silicone oil, turned out wild but it's still wet.
Thanks so much, Kathleen! Yeah I really like using them and may need to get back to them soon. They look great in the daylight and some nice varnish! Thanks for watching! 🤍🤍
Hello, I’m a newbie to your channel. This is my first time watching you, and now you’re stuck with me, lol!!! I absolutely love love, love this painting!!! I’ve been on an iridescent, metallic, and the interference colors my self. I can’t wait to try this which I will be doing this afternoon and I’ll let you know how it turns out. Thank you so much for sharing and educating us.🙋♀️😊🤗❤️

Thanks Nancy! Yes, I’m with you about swiping to much paint. The wax paper worked really well and spread the paint much better than I’d hoped. I also love the iridescent paints, I think they’re awesome!! Thanks for watching!!
I love iridescent and color shift paints. I always add iridescent gloss medium to all of my tube paints when mixing unless they’re already metallic or pearl. Your painting looks amazing.
I love how the colors blend together and it is a beautiful piece! I have a lot of the color shift paints and I am going to try one like this one! Thank you for your videos and sharing your art with us.
Love it !! The colors played very well together & look great !! I use all kinds of different brands of iridescent/metallics paints & basically like them all, the Deco Art Extreme Sheens are very pretty & highly reactive, I also use an Iridescent Medium so that I can make any color & any brand of paint that I have iridescent/metallic & it works great too, I like having it especially for colors that I don't typically use a lot & don't tend to keep on hand at all times like I do with my fave colors. Love the final comp & design that your swipe settled in to at the end.. Perfect !!! 😊 not sure where you are located or if you are familiar with Dollar Tree stores but they sell that old time cabinet liner that has a rubbery kind of feel to it & it has like a small diamond shape cut out pattern to it & before I got my huge Loli Vefe silicone pouring mat to pour on I used to buy rolls of that cabinet liner to line my pouring table as well as my spinner to keep my canvases from slipping & sliding around, it has an excellent surface grip to it & works great. Just an inexpensive alternative. Can't beat it for a buck !! Lol 😊😊
Thank you so much for this great feedback, I really appreciate it! Yes, I do have shelf liners and they work great. I’m also in Regina, SK 🇨🇦 I’ll have to remember to use them for this, I usually use them for some of my swipes. I’d love to hear more about what you do, that’s great tips and tricks! Thanks again for watching as well!! 😊
Wow Tony that turned out really cool, the black flash before you even swipe I could see the gold hint you to it and I love the aqua. I have that exact canvas and didn't know what I was going to do with it. I did buy the arteza scholarship pants have not tried them yet but I'm curious how they will look. But this turned out really really stunning.
@@lisadumas6422 Thanks Lisa! This was a big test of patience when I was swiping and a little awkward to tilt, but I am really happy with it. And thank you for the kind words! 🤍
Totally love your creativity I’m new to acrylics.. Once your done with your pour.. 1. For the acrylic to air dry how long? 2. Do you paint the sides of the canvas if your going to frame or leave the sides the way their are if a canvas is used or not ?
Those are great questions, thanks! Depending on the size of the canvas, it may dry overnight or it could take almost 3 days like this one did. I poured a 10 x 20" piece this week that dried about 18 hours after I poured. As far the sides, I've never framed an of my pieces yet, and I do my best to make sure I tilt over the sides- I think it adds a little painting but it really a preference. :)
Thanks August, I really like how this one turned out. I made it a bit bigger than typical to be able to try and sell in the market I’m in in mid June. Metallics, and especially these color shifting acrylics are definitely my favorite right now! Also, thanks for watching, I really appreciate it!
I really like what you did with this, especially the curve to the lines of colour. Two days ago I thought I'd try a longer painting too (but smaller than yours). I did a 7 colour canvas using Amsterdam colours and Ohuhu metallics. I planned on doing a comb swipe followed by a marble run. No silicone or penetrol,. However, after doing the comb swipe the canvas erupted into cells and looked great so I abandoned the marble idea. Mostly thanks to you giving me confidence to do a swipe, even if it was with a comb not a solid.
That’s awesome and glad to hear you tried something that wasn’t in the plans! I think you’re right with that S curve in it though, it seemed to give it a little more life. Also, thanks for the kind words, I’m happy that whatever I did helped you make something awesome!
Bazaart is June 17th from 10-5 I think. It’s at the MacKenzie Art Gallery, on the grass and in the parking lot of the gallery. Corner of Albert and 23rd Avenue. There are going to be 130 vendors!
Thanks for watching first of all. In my CA I use 2 parts US floetrol to 1 part Amsterdam titanium white, as well as 3 drops of penetrol which is an additive that floetrol makes as well. This combination helps to make the cells and lacing. 🙂
