well, i'm english and sometimes i do welsh, scottish, or irish- so yes, yes we do. Also, Dan and phil have slightly northern accents, there are so many different kinds of english accents!
In England the whole "nyes I'm British and I shall drink my tea" stereotype is only used by literally like 0.01% of the population. So basically we still make fun of that little posh group of Brits, even though we ourselves are Brits.
Actually people make fun of the "proper/posh" British people. They aren't all fancy line unless it's something special...

I would much rather live a free lifestyle roaming the Earth as a dragon than have to be tied down with a simple human life where I'd simply have a pet/friend dragon. I feel like modern human lives are quite mundane anyway, I'd much rather be a dragon :p

It would be quite lonely though... Imagine living your entire life as the only dragon in the world. Besides, if your pet dragon is big enough you could probably ride it across the world and it would be basically the same minus the fire breathing.
If you as a dragon were as huge as those mythological dragons were, people would eventually find you and either enslave you or kill you (not with shotguns but they could drop a bomb on you or something). You couldn't just live your dragon life somewhere without ever being discovered. (If you were an underwater dragon, then it could be possible. People have discovered 99% of Earth's land, but only like 5-20% of the ocean. I don't know how that fire-breathing stuff could work underwater though, unless you live in Spongebob's world, but I digress.)
If you had a dragon as a pet, it would basically be impossible to keep. If it were large, other people would eventually find out about it, no matter where you kept it. Where could you fly it? "No biggie, it's just me landing at LAX with my enormous freaking dragon"? If it were small, it wouldn't be certain that people would find out about it, but you'd have to live in a very remote location to be able to take it outside (where I guess it'd have to be taken).

What kinda crappy dragon doesn't breathe fire? That's the whole point of a dragon - flying lizard thing that breathes fire. If my dragon didn't breathe fire, I'd expect a refund.
***** Thats what I was thinking! Like you are the only creature of your kind so you would lose all chances of finding someone to love and raise a family with. I also agree with your other point. People will not just ignore the fact that their is a terrifying potentially killer animal roaming around and you would likely be captured for research purposes. Also, what would you eat/drink. Dragons are enormous creatures so you would have to live in some isolated remote wilderness next to a river and constantly be hunting for food. You would need a massive amount of calories to replenish all the energy exhausted by activities such as flight.

Dan just likes to think things over a lot more than Phil and PJ tend to do.
I think Dan comes off that way sometimes, but I think its just because his mom studied Philosophy at University so he just grew up in a household where things were looked at on a deeper level.
Oh well. Can't blame him. I can kind of relate too so I guess I understand. (I swear, my family... I'm an only child with both of my parents. My mother is... might I say, quite simple - minded, simple - minded but stubborn and feisty. She's still a good mother and housewife, and balances out the thoughtfulness of my father, who is a math teacher. I have a Chinese tuition teacher who has studied philosophy, and has deep thoughts and conversations with me. Growing up, in an environment like this, I can't help but be more of a thinker. Luckily my mom _sometimes_ can help me weigh back.) Yeah... I can definitely relate to Dan. I just wish he wouldn't always do this, you know? There are times when you can be thoughtful and times where you have to resist the urge and play along. I know this is his humour, but sometimes laying back isn't so bad as a thinker. It's sometimes better, like my case: my friends all depend on me for answers and solutions to their problems. I just wish Dan would at least try to act "normal" and look at it from the surface level like everyone does SOMETIMES, when necessary.
