- It's about time we share the heartwarming story of Sage, the very first mustang, and inspiration of Nirvana Mustang Sanctuary 🐴
Sage's story follows a terrified previously wild mustang as his training fails. We got him out of that situation and allowed him to lead- Sage taught a beautiful way to be with and gentle wild horses on their terms.
Watch him transform from thin & terrified back to his rightful majestic self!

He's Gorgeous!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
So beautiful this story made me cry
You have done amazingly with this beautiful horse. Both of you learning together and granting each other the mutual respect. Enjoy your time together.
What a wonderful narrative. Very emotional uplifting story..
What a beautiful story ❤
Beautiful
Beautiful ❤
You done good girl, I've had two mustangs and they were great companions on many wilderness pack trips. all my horses have passed on now but I think about them everyday. It warms my heart to see what you have done and I wish you the best of luck.
You are a great story teller! Sage is beautiful! Thank you for the efforts to save these beautiful animals!
Awe...as I'm looking at this horse, I noticed that each if his muscles were so stressed, that they were twitching, constantly! How incredibly scared must this poor horse be!😢 I pray to God, that you will be able to convince this horse that you aren't going to hurt him, and that all you want to do, is so him respect and love.😊
I took pleasure in noticing that toward the end of the video, Sage's muscles no longer twitched in fear! What I saw instead, was a calm, happy, horse! Thankyou to all those that truly love, and respect, God's creation 😊
Beautiful horses, beautiful people for being kind.
What a wonderful transformation❣️ Thanks for respecting and valuing the horse’s communication so highly and showing that as the way to build a bond of trust and partnership. 💞 Truly an inspiration and an example for others to follow. 💖
I love mustangs as many do. I have watched many of these such videos. Your presentation was absolutley beautiful. Thank you, the love you have for these animals comes through.
I haven’t cried this hard than I have today. Mustangs stole my heart many years ago but my age has overwhelmed my abilities. You kind woman have written a beautiful story to be shared with the world. I will pray for you and Nirvana.
I think you are absolutely 'spot on'. A wild horse has to be domesticated first (oriented/acclimated/calmed/tamed) before it can be trained (to follow commands or accept a saddle and rider). I love your methods. You build on confidence and trust.
Yes!! And sooo many “trainers” skip domestication leading to many mustangs ending up in horrible situations 💔
❤❤❤❤
You're awesome
Sage was truly blessed when you took him on a beautiful story. Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤❤
This is how I worked with horses growing up thank you for showing me this and how you work.
Beautiful Beautiful visual and voice.
Your training and belief in the horse❤️ is similar to Steve Young, trainor extraordinare from the UK.
He has videos to watch. His patience is unmatched.
Love to Sage❤️❤️

God bless you 🙏🏽
so beautiful to whisper for his eventual trust. just the beginning.
Lovely poetic prose to describe Sage's journey back to freedom! and yours into a free-range sanctuary 🤩 to home other wild mustangs, wild and suspicious of humans. Just sitting with him for hours and soft, gentle sharing of pellets worked wonders.
I so appreciate your training methods. No trainer should force a horse to do anything. These wild horses are so intelligent and need to be treated with love and compassion. They were forcibly removed from the only life they had known. Who are we to have done that? They deserve the right to participate in their future surroundings.
Absolutely!!! You are so right ❤
Fabulous horse and the poor lad having an injured eye for a wild horse must have been a total nightmare, he was just so lucky you found him 🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴
This is the most beautiful Mustang story I’ve ever heard !!!
Thank you very so much for sharing your beautiful journey with us !!! ❤️🐴
❤
What a wonderful story.
Wow, this is a beautiful story 🥹🤍🤎🖤 Your patience and aura around him while guiding him back to calm and safety is magic! I really loved this, and he is gorgeous!! Those colors!! ♥️♥️
With you working with him daily, he will keep the bond. He's learned he can trust you and that's everything.
What an amazing way to work with horses i truely believe it should be on their terms when theyve been traumatised and or abused. Keep up your kind work with these beautiful horses its so needed❤
What a sweet sweet story and Sage and you finding each other is so special. I too have a Fifteen mile guy and he's such a gift to me. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you.
I feel sadhh e got rounded up.i feel the fifeen mile herd is The smartes herd in World as if i was a horse id be there
It amazes me that you have accomplished more in couple of days than a trainer did in six months. Maybe that trainer needs some more training!!!!
Hello sweetie I’m subscribing to your site. Because I have a similar desire in regards to wild mustangs and their preservation.
Please take some time and review the UA-cam videos from Steve Young horsemanship. He is an excellent kind away with training horses that I think you will enjoy.
He will show you why horses are reluctant to take food from your hand especially wild ones. And why it’s a good idea to back away from this habit in order to gain the respect that is necessary to stay safe.❤😊🕊😉
I just had my vision restored by cataract surgery; can the same not be done for Sage?
🥺🥺🥺
There’s a UA-camr with a channel called The CleverCowgirl…one of the horses she obtained was called “ untrainable”. …turns out the trainer used intimidation and abuse to subdue his students. Sounds like Sage may have been subjected to that type of methodology.
It is just so sad that they took a TWELVE year old stallion that had always been wild and free and thought it would be a good idea to take him away from all that! People suck.
They're waving at him?
Lovely video. I wish there was a way to save the wild horses on the Apache Indian Reservation in AZ. They hate the horses and kill them. 😢
that's not true at all.
You say this is science based training. Sorry but this is basically training as native American horse people train. My Great Uncle was a Mustang trainer for the American Calvery in the early1900s ,he learned from an older Native American gentleman make friends and trust first. Which is exactly what you did. Where I come from this is respect of the animal itself. Please continue training in this manner.
He was a wild mustang and should have stayed a wild mustang.
This entire video makes me SO emotional!!😭😭beautiful handsome Sage he was utterly terrified but to finally see him go “wait a minute this strange 2 legged doesn’t demand/expect anything from me and she’s not going to hurt me”🥹🥹 what a incredible transformation thank you for allowing him to have his voice heard/listened to. You can finally see as he lets his wall come down that he truly trusts and seeks you out which is the ultimate compliment and win especially more so bc of his blindness. Thank you for sharing the very first soul of Nirvana and his amazing story it touched me deeply and I needed to see it this morning thank you.🤍🤎✨🐎🤗🤩🌈
Why don't they just leave them alone in the wild
They are feral.
As sad as it is
This horse should be free! Clearly he should be free. Shame on all of you for doing this to begin with! This is so very wrong in every way! Shame on all of you!!!!
