MC got lucky choosing this time to go to Washington Square Park. This takes place when Harry Potter was in Hogwarts which was the 1990s. Before this Washington Square Park was not the safest place to be in New York. In fact, New York was not the place to be especially in the 1970s when American was going through a bad Recession. That was until Rudy Giuliani (back when he was Mayor of New York) took over and stabilized the area.
