Hi Will, was the wood still green when it was turned?

If you look at the finished piece the longest side of the piece the bark was a little green, but the tree was dead hadn't produced any leaf in the past two years. 😊

Thanks. I was curious as the initial shaving were peeling off smoothly, that had me thinking it might have been green wood. All ths best.

How did you remove the tenon?

I put a scrap piece of wood in the chuck with a bit of router matt to make a friction drive, place the piece between it and pointy live center and turn most of the tennon away then power sand the little nub away, hope that answers your question,

Ash die back disease causes the heart wood to turn colour to the olive ash type appearance.
