  • In a special episode recorded live at the Mosaic Conference, Erwin McManus, alongside his son Aaron, delves into the intricacies of human existence, love, and the essence of personal growth. This engaging session forms part of their broader podcast series, where they share personal stories, disagreements, and insights aimed at fostering understanding and growth among their listeners.
Erwin's shift towards voicing conservative perspectives during the pandemic and the duo's commitment to elevating the thought processes among Christian leaders set the backdrop for a series of deep discussions. Central to their dialogue is the exploration of faith, love, and the boundless nature of these complex emotions. Erwin's recount of reassuring his son in a moment of declared non-affection showcases the depth of parental love and the lessons embedded within.
Leadership, free thinking, and the challenge of authenticity in American Christianity are critically assessed, pushing for a reevaluation of values and intellectual consistency. The episode also touches on the profound impact of spirituality in shaping society and personal identity, with Erwin lamenting the quality of Christian art while applauding the younger generation's strive for excellence.
Erwin and Aaron navigate the nuances of loneliness, mental health, and the importance of genuine relationships, emphasizing the strength found in vulnerability and the journey towards self-discovery. They advocate for a mindset of openness, the willingness to be wrong, and the pursuit of truth in all facets of life, including faith.
Recorded live, this episode not only brings the vibrant energy of the Mosaic Conference to listeners but also encapsulates the essence of the McManus podcast. It invites audiences to reflect on their beliefs, embrace the complexities of love and faith, and engage in the continual process of personal growth and understanding.

Erwin and Aaron…one of the most honest, open and revealing podcasts! Thanks for choosing to share yourselves with us each week to help us elevate our thinking and be the best version of ourselves to represent Jesus to a world desperately needing him.

Please can you guys retitle this podcast conversation? 🙏 I'm not seeing anything about Public speaking in it and this was so good. So so good. I'm sure the new title will reach a lot more people.
    Thank you 🙏

I’ve grappled with why, God is a jealous God? Erwin’s answer was a mic drop! So profound, yet so simple. Just one of so many amazing moments at conference. Can’t wait for 2025!

Not sure about the title on this episode, “Solid Gold” might be better!! 1:02:08 "You don't have to argue the Bible to people who don’t believe in the Bible" 1:03:04 “pick yours .. what are your commandments? … And then we’d write them down. … So, how are you doing?" ... 1:03:40 don't miss the overarching story "that God is for all humanity, and by the way there is no other book that tells you that, there is no other sacred text in the world, in any of human history, that says: "God has come for you", not "you need to find a way to get to God" - Great question from Amanda and I love the way Erwin breaks it down, with an example of his anthropological-based evangelism - 1:03:29 “see this is the crazy thing about us as humans, pick any 10 commandments and you can’t live up to ‘em, because there’s something broken in us.” It’s non-confrontational and invites the person to share a laugh and be honest about how they are doing .. and then bringing it back to Jesus.

33:23 This really resonates with me. I wasn’t raised Christian and only got a glimpse of what it was a child. For the most part it consisted of being’the white man’s religion’ or in my child imagination these usually Caucasian people who would take us from the housing projects we lived in to ‘brainwash’ us into believing in something they swore would save us. While I am a new follower your story Mr. Erwin I can relate to, being raised in a very unsafe environment and being depressed for most of my childhood/young adult life. All of the things I’ve been through weighed me down. I became an adult and started looking for answers, I unfortunately found myself practicing witchcraft and only using the Bible for ‘spells’. I didn’t have a revolutionary moment. Just small moments little pokes little hugs that truly helped me realize who Jesus was. Ive always had a big imagination and I consider myself a very mystical thinking person. To me Jesus never fit into the narrative of who I became to myself as or better yet who I wanted to be. How silly I feel now because there is really nothing more mystical than the story and belief in Jesus Christ. And only by the way of him have I truly been able to become to know who I truly am!

I do think Erwin is liberating not destroying, it may seems like destroying because we live in a world that's is fragile to truth.
