Bringing Home My Sisters First Harley!

- My sister can finally say she’s part of the HD family with her (new to her) 2007 Sportster 1200! I got to take it on its maiden voyage back to our place, and for $6000 🇨🇦 (about $4550 us) I’m feeling like it was a pretty good deal since it has less than 5000 miles on it. 😏
She still has a bit of practicing to do before she can hop on and take it for a spin herself, but it’s here and ready to go whenever she is!
And, anyone who want's to send me pictures of their bikes, you can email me at:
redrider.canada.bc@gmail.com
PLEASE SEND LARGE CLEAR PHOTOS!
1080p x 1080p is the MINIMUM we can work with, so please do your best at making sure your photos are large and not blurry 🙂 And send more than one if you can as well!
Only motorcycle related emails please - sorry, but I just don't have the time to engage in personal conversations.
Thank you for your understanding.
If you DON'T want your bike highlighted in a future video showing viewers bikes then make sure to mention it in your email. Other than that, expect to see your bike in one of my videos!
If you would like my PO BOX address you can find it in the description to my channel by following this link:

Looks like your sister must be camera shy. Congrats to her on the new bike ! Thanks for the video Angel. Ride Safe.....
She is a little haha
What beautiful mountains in the background.
I had a 1200c.....really liked it......they are fast and are not a 800lb elephant.
Can’t beat those sportys and the belt drive is smooth! Enjoy it and ride it!
Looks like a great bike ... once you see those stock pipes still on the bike you know shes been babied .
God bless you all
God bless you too!
Nice little Sporty!!! Congrats to your sister on her new ride. Good on you for not being afraid to quit your job and just doing what you want. I think it was the right decision and im looking forward to watching your channel continue to grow. Keep up the good work 😊. God bless you and your family ❤🙏🙌
Thank you so much!! God bless you too my friend 🙂
Congrats. My 2007 Sportster had a fuel injected EVO. Loved it.
My '07 Sportster was also injected. Wondering if hers has been converted to carb.
Yup 2007 was the first year for EFI on the Sportster. I love the 04+ rubber mounted sportsters - Xena from the XL Forum
Sweet. I love em. Some go over 100,000 miles without an overhaul. That is an EVO maam. The best motor HD has ever produced right there.
Right on!
That is a very nice bike! Damn near looks new
Saddlebags are great for carrying stuff. You're always going to need some room to carry something because you pick something up and it's better than just holding it
I have saddlebags with Easy Brackets. The brackets lock on, to remove them you just unlock them and lift them off. The brackets stay with the bags. Only thing left on the fender rail are the little docking posts, which are barely noticeable.
@@geraldscott4302 when the previous owner of my Sportster came out of a bar when his bike was about 6 months old or a year-old somebody quickly detached all his quickly detachable windshield saddlebags backrest everything going I'm surprised you just didn't push the bike to. The previous owner decided he didn't want to play biker no more so I got me a fantastic bike. I've had her for twenty-five years and almost 400,000 miles on her cuz she had 20,000 miles on her when I got her. Rehomed real well
A wonderful purchase, a bargain at 4,500 USD (£3,530!), and in such excellent condition, with so low a mileage! She's got a keeper there! I've had a few of my "roadster and cruiser" bikes with bolt-on windscreens, and I have permanently removed them after a short while because of the uncomfortable wind-buffeting behind them, created by the vacuum behind the windscreen! Spreading the wind pressure evenly over the whole body without them results in much more pleasantness during the ride! (Just avoid the rain!...LOL...).Take the windshield off and enjoy the freedom!! I'm eager to see more of your sister riding her new purchase! Take care both, and ride safe!.....😀...😀...from England....😀...!
😁😁😁
Nice Bike. That wind screen on Sis's bike is the Spartan from National Cycle. It should fit your Stroker....... 😎
Now we want couple ride videos with your sister too!!!!
I agree with the comment of a user that tells you mustn’t tie your hair, but leave the free in the wind.
You will rock so much!!!!
Lol my hair would be ruined!!
Looks like your sister got a good ride, hope she gets tons of pleasure cruising with you red , nice video as always👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks 👍 😁
Those Evo Sportsters are bullet proof very dependable bikes . Your sister is going to have a very nice ride . Now I am looking forward to a sister ride video .Tell her to enjoy the ride and to keep the rubber side down
Will do! Thanks Stephen!
Really great bike. Clean simple and straightforward. Oh ya! Windshields are really nice you get to like them. Had them on all of my Harley Davidson's and they have always worked as they should. More dead bugs on the windshield not on my face. Anyways this was a real nice HD. Hope you sister will enjoy it and have fun . Now you're going to have someone else to rid with. Stay safe and have fun.
Thanks 😁
I never heard you mention not being able to find neutral, it looks like your sister got a real winner with that bike.
Congrats for your sister on her new/used Harley. I wish you the best in your UA-cam channel. I really enjoy your videos, when I find the time to watch them.
Thank you very much 😊
SUPER SMOOTH! BIG NEWS BIG CHANGES...SIS GETS THIS FINE SPORTY, YOU HEAT UP ON UA-cam!!! WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE!!! 😅😊
😃
Nice bike! She should be happy on that for a long time! Windshields have their place for sure.
I think so too!
Yeah, 🖤I like that she is driving the Fiat 500!
Keep the saddlebags, if you become serious rider you will eventually use your bike for everything, grocery shopping, camping, a lot of other things
There’s nothing like a road trip to pick up a bike. 👍
Yea!! 🤩
Name your beautiful black bird "Lazarus" as you brought him back from certain death. You are very kind to take care of him. I am sure he will love you forever!
Congratulations to your sister on the purchase. Looks like a great bike. I'm sure ya'll will have many memories together to share. Riding together as family is a dream all who ride share. To both of you, be safe and be happy. God bless!
Thank you!!
Congratulations sis that's a perfect bike to start off with❤
That bike is almost brand-new and whatever price you paid for it you got a good deal. What I love the most about the Harley crowd is that they spend more time polishing their motorcycles than riding
Im guilty, but I try and even it out my riding the Pig !
You ride your kawayamisucky a lot?
@@Crimepaysaskapolitician I have a fleet of motorcycles choose from. I have nothing against Japanese motorcycles I own three brand-new ones in my lifetime. I have been retired since I was 50 so I have plenty of time for leisurely riding with no place to go in particular, wherever my front wheel leads.
@@Crimepaysaskapolitician what is with you? I currently do not have any Japanese motorcycles in my collection. In fact I have an award-winning collection of vintage British German and others. What do you ride a pedal bike?
@@Crimepaysaskapolitician I have a Sportster with 400,000 miles that I put on her in twenty-five years you are an idiot
I like it. I think it will make a great first bike. Good luck sis. Be careful and have great adventures.😎👍
Congrats sister on the new ride, good luck
Always love cruising with you !!!
Congrats 🎊🍾🎉🎈
Harley’s detachable windshields are great in the cold and wet. Gotta set them up so your eyeballs are at a height just above the top of the windshield. You can always scrunch your neck down, but with a wet dirty windshield that’s too high, seeing through it is a bitch to say the least. Great video. Please keep them coming.
Thanks for watching!!
Congrats on the New Bike and your Career Commitments ❤
Thank you 😊 😊
Nice little sporty well done❤
2007!!!! The same as mine so she obviously has superb taste! Happy and safe riding to you both! This HD has the *Sporster EVO* engine, a better engine than the Big Twin EVO. Parenthetically, the Evo engine was rubber-mounted starting in 2004, while F.I. was added in 2006. Your sister's bike, therefore, is a fuel injected EVO (preceding the EVO was the Sportster "iron head"). Also parenthetically, it is recommended not to be in fifth gear below 60 miles per hour. The Sportster EVO is easiily a 100,000 mile engine.
Actually EFI was added in 2007. My 2006 is carbureted.
@@geraldscott4302 I have seen some with FI so it might have been a 2006 1/2 (mid-year) thing or an error in the HD history book I read. Regardless, Red's sister's Sporty is injected. Thank you for your observation!
Her sporty is DEFINITELY carbureted! It has a choke and a peacock, and a big ol carb sitting behind that air cleaner! I’ve read some info saying that all the twin cams went EFI in 2007, but sporty stayed carbed till 2008.
@@RedRiderCanadaBC Wow! Well this is definitely intriguing. Although I have had no problems with HD's EFI, I still prefer carbureors due to their simplicity and ease of repair. I count your sister fortunate.
Great find.Miss the sound of your shovel, though.
Lovely condition.
Nice bike sister !!! Looks brand new too , always a bonus
Right!!
I congratulate you and your sister on a great purchase! "Sportster" is an excellent motorcycle, lightweight and maneuverable, with an excellent reliable engine. Now you can weld the twentieth "sisibar" armature to it and drive all the way to Alaska. Что может быть лучше, чем краденая со стройки двадцатая арматура для сисибара!?... :)))
😆 😆
Great find on the Sportster. I went to books a million to see your Shovelhead in Easyriders. Great pics and well wrote. Both bikes look great. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank 😁
Friend of mine has the same model sporty it goes well no issues & handles great it can keep up with the bigger bikes all day long i had a removable screen on my wideglide i think it will give you another 2 - 3 hours of riding on long trips just by taking the wind off your shoulders ride safe & congrats to your sister on choosing a great bike cheers
😄
Good on you both well done, I've an o7 same model it's fuel injection, short shot Vance and Hines pipes sound spot on just saying, happy travels
Looks like you're sister got a great bike!!!
You are absolutely amazing. Keep on smiling Angel,,
Thank you! You too! 😁
Congrats to your sis!
Thank you!
Sportster are great bikes. Stay safe and enjoy. 😊
Always!
Congratulations to your sister for the new bike. Congrats to you for the job change. Wish you the best with UA-cam
Thank you very much 😀 😁
My first new Harley was a 94 Sporty 1200, loved that bike and put 80k, trouble free miles. Nice lookin bike, sure your sister will enjoy!
You look so good ! And i love your hair 🙂
Keeping it in the Family LETS GOO!! YAY!! Beautiful bike!!
Always!
Congrats!!! Stay Safe
Cool find
Good video. That is a nice looking bike. And congratulations on your you tube. I hope it works out for you
I hope so too. Thanks!
Windshields are a good thing. I put a windshield on during the winter months. That really extends being able to ride when the temps dip below 40 degrees. Those Sporters are great! I've owned two, 2005 1200 Sporties. Love their rubber mounted motors which makes a better ride. Yes Evo's are fantastic. They are just about bullet proof. I miss my Sportsters, but I went with the Indian Scout and Triumph Bonneville as my last bikes I'll own. I'm a old geezer, Sportsters hit the road in 1957 the same year I was born. Loved the video and I know your sis will love her new bike! Ride and stay safe up there in your beautiful B.C.!
Same year my dad was born!
Good vid angel you really like riding lol!! I don't blame you.stay safe!!
I sure do! 😆
Hi Red, that looks like a nice bike. My first Harley was a 96 Sportster I bought from my Son. It had lowering brackets on the back shocks. I found a poor mans fix to lower the front. I loosened the triple tree and slid the fork tubes up. I held the front break and pushed hard to find the point before the headlight hit the fender. I think I slid the tubes up one and three quarter inches. Easy to do, easy to change back. Never road it double and never had a problem. It had drag bars with a quick bob tank. I think it held 3.2 gallons. Lowering it just went with the look. I don't know If sliding the fork tubes up is an option on the newer Sportsters though. I hope your Sister has many safe trips on her new bike.
I think the bike seems to fit her good so far! She hasn’t decided if she is going to change anything yet.
Great! I have ridden a 1200 Sporty. Pretty dang fast! In 2004, 1200s got better cams and heads from the Buell line. Really upped the performance, great bike!
Thats a sweet little bike, no miles. Enjoy, and be safe!
Thanks, you too!
I never liked windshields until I bought my 94 FLSTN that had a windshield on it, and after I rode it for a while with a windshield, now I'm sold on windshields, mainly because your so much more relaxed from wind noise, when you get to your destination !! 😘💖
True that!
congratulations
Nice score.Congrats!
Thanks!
Another Lady Harley Rider getting ready to the streets! 😁 how cool it will be to ride with ur sis, congrats on a super clean EVO sporty. Lots of kilometers to add. Bulletproof little bikes. Sweet score.
Yea!!
Great !!!! Enjoy!!!!! and ride safe :)
Good bikes my wife has a 2019 1200c and my daughter has a 2009 1200l
I love that bike .I'm said to see it off marketplace it's the one I wanted hahaha .I'm sure it's the same one ...anyways. Love your stuff .congrats on your UA-cam ventures. Be happy you tried at Harley worked and learned more now you know what you want and that's the hardest thing to figure out. Congrats on your success and hope yo see the sportster again . Have a great day
Thank you 😊
Very nice. I bought a 2012 Sportster and just love it. 1200 has plenty of power. I also have a 1998 Custom Softail. Can't own too many Harleys. It anoys me when people call it a beginners bike or a chicks bike. It is light, fast and handles great. If you want a very fast bike go buy a rice grinder. The price is right and of course it's a Harley-Davidson.Enjoy the ride. I've been riding Harleys for 50 years and my sporty is the the most fun yet.
Phenomenal thats awesome!!! Hype Hype! 🎉😮❤
Yea, you definitely need a windshield on your Dyna. The 1200 Sportster is an EVO motor, plenty of power, though it's a bit top heavy IMO. Looks like a nice clean bike though! Best of luck to your sister and her first bike!
Yep, the dyna is getting all decked out 😆 It’s gonna be my don’t-care-what-it-looks-like meant-for-cruising bike
Hope Sis loves it Red. Huggzzz from Kentucky.
😄
Great bike hope your sister likes riding it as much as you. I've had a couple of Harleys, both Evo 1340's, an 86 and a 2000, nice engines but for me I like the reliability of a jap bike especially for all year round riding, plus the ease of getting spare parts, I think it's easier in the US and Canada to get Harley parts at a good price. All the best with UA-cam and making it pay.
I Like the older cycle cylinder jap bikes, they make cool choppers and are quite reliable and easy to work on.
Hello Angel,,,,💪😁👍,,,,,coffee & Bikes for Breakfast this Saturday morning. Wow,,nice bike..💖,,,,Happy Trails tee.
Morning!
Nice video!.. She got a good deal I think. I also picked up a Sportster recently, a 2022 Forty Eight in black without anti-lock brakes. I feel lucky to have the last year of the Evo Sportsters! A bit sad to know their run has ended though.
I think it'd very sad and a little disappointing that Harley would discontinue such a well loved and popular bike.
I have a 2001 sportster. And was told all sportsters have EVO motors?? Just LOVE you, your bike and content!!!! You say you feel 20 or 30 years older on this bike? If that was true I could stop looking for that perfect lady I talked about in the comments on one of your video 's. Your AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!
😆🤭
hi Angel, great looking Sportster; lucky little sister!
On my Heritage the fuel gage is in the left false gas cap... which isn't a gas cap at all ! On the left edge of the console is a little rubber button that toggles the speedo display between odometer and "trip" mileage. If you hold in on the rubber button in trip mode it clears the trip.
If it has the left gas cap fuel gauge DONT twist the cap... look straight down into it to see fuel gage.
Hey, I finally got my Pan America Special (whoo hoo). I'm sending you an email with some pics for Red Riders Rides; also a pic of my Heritage console you can compare to your sister's Sportster. Mine is a 2003, so sis's bike is a little newer, but same gernal vintage.
marcus
Cool Marcus!! Congrats on the PanAm! I look forward to seeing some pics 😎
My sister’s (my older sis btw 😉) bike only have one cap on the tank and there is no gauge other than the one. I didn’t look for the little rubber bottom for toggling the gauge though.
Sweet little Sporty. A 1275 Kit, Mikuni Carb and a good 2 into 1 pipe and it’ll Fly. Evo Sportys are solid as an anvil.
😎
In my own personal experience I would take a TC over an EVO 7 day's a week. My wife purchased a Heritage Softail EVO in "98 and still has it. The engine was trouble free for us but the Stator went out 3 times and the Starter Clutch 3 times as well. The engine was worn out as far as rings pistons, crankshaft, and barrels. We rebuilt it with S&S components as OEM parts were no longer available.
I purchased a "99 Road King TC the next year for me and at 15,000 miles had them check the timing chain guides and tensioners. All showed pretty good wear so I had them install new S7S gear drive and 210 cams. I then rode it to 100,000 miles and the bike still only used a half a pint of oil every 3,000 miles. Other than that the bikes was Flawless and the only thing I changed were fluids, filters, brakes and tires. The TC also had a ton more power than the EVO even with a bigger cam and the re-jet for the Carburetor. TC was Quieter, smother, faster, and longer lasting.
I now have a '14 RK TC and a "17 Road Glide special M8 but both have far to few miles to compare. I have installed an after market stage II on the M8 along with an S&S cam plate, oil pump, Inner cam BRGS, Fueling lifters, Lifter cuffs and a complete Exhaust because of the Sumping issues the early M8's were having. I feel like this should make the engine last a while but my local independent that does my work say's the piston rings, Pistons, and Cylinders are a weak spot for many of the M8's as well. The '14 TC has a Stage 1 with a full exhaust and a dyno tune.
So there you have it, everything I know from my long ownership experiences about the 3 motors.
Yea I thinks it’s really a preference thing and usually comes some to how well maintained some things are. But I’ve heard that the TC motors (not sure if it’s all TC or just the early ones) have the timing chains adjusted to the max adjustment and that causes them to wear out a lot quicker. And then I’ve also talked to some Harley techs who said the early M8 motors (2016 to 2018 or so) had oil pump issues where the pump didn’t actually circulate enough oil, which would cause all kinds of issues. But I’ve never owned or worked on any of those engines so I cant say from my own experience weather they are reliable or not. I just know my shovel is simple to work on lol
That’s a great bike. You guys are going to have so much fun going on rides together. Very cool!
Wearing a backpack gets old. Having saddlebags makes life easier, but naked bikes look better. That’s why you have to have at least two bikes. It’s a sickness, I know! 🤪😜🇺🇸
Two AT LEAST!!
Cool bike, I'm a fan of the sportsters that 07 should be fuel injected,
My first Sportster was the 883 solo saddle back in 1986
Thats awesome! Looks alot like my 04, also I understand 04+ ignition is read from crank sensor
Purty sure that's an Evo engine, but I could be wrong
You’re right, I had a brain fart moment 🧠 💨
Yo Sis, CONGRATZ
What a great bike with low mileage. Hopefully, when your sister gets a few more miles under her belt y'all can ride and film together. My 2007 Softail is EFI, but I don't think that's the case on all 2007 HDs. My first HD was a 2011 Sportster 48 and it didn't have a tac or fuel gauge, but it does have a light that indicates when you're near empty which wasn't much on the tiny Sportster 48 two gallon tank. The tank on your sisters looks like the three gallon tank. Thanks for sharing.
All 2007 and newer Harleys are EFI. I purposely bought a 2006 Sportster 1200L to avoid it.
@@geraldscott4302 I was just going by what Angel says in the video that it's a 2007 model and is carbureted.
It is 2007 and it is carbureted… I have found some info online that says all twincams were EFI in 2007 but the sporty didn’t switch over till 2008 🤔
Clean Sportster. Great you got a naturally aspirated bike. Less crap to deal with. Congrats to your Sister. Now teach her the ancient ways of riding. You’ll get spoiled with that windshield and saddle bags :) Thanks for posting. BTW, That bike doesn’t have a fuel gauge. Use the trip meter on the odometer. It gets like 60 miles to the gallon so really don’t need one. If you want one, change the speedo to include the sensor but it’s pricey.
Cool, thanks!
2007 was the 1st yr they went to fuel injection on the Sporties. I wonder if someone changed it to a carb after the fact? Google & YT can be our friend when it comes to figuring out fuel and odometer and all the electronic doodads. Good looking bike. Congratulations to your sister on her new ride. ✌️🇨🇦
Crackin bike nice choice sis.
Sure is!
Nice bike 😊
Sure is!
I loved my 1999 1200 Sportster.
Aztec Orange/ Diamond Ice color.
My 2005 Lowrider I bought a while back is not carbureted, it’s injected.
I think it came as an option till they went to standard EFI in 2007. But apparently the sportsters were carbed till 2008 but all the FL, touring dyna and soft tale models were EFI in 2007.
Nice sportster. Hawe nice day there in canada. Finland is making good.
Have a nice day 😁
My first harley was 125 cc amf made in itally.
Hello red very nice bike you sister bought hope you guys get to ride one day together that'll be pretty neat stay in trouble and keep up the great work❤🌹
That's the plan! 😁
That is an EVO engine all Sportsters are Evo engines except for the new Sportster S. And that is one pretty Sportster wouldn't mind owning it myself have fun on your new bike
Awesome sauce!!!!
Your a good sis Angel😁
I try 😁
Nice Sporty
I had an iron head sportster and went round much of Europe on it two up.
Nice scoot Sugar!
You bet!!
Alright, another Lady rider. It matches her Fiat car color. Throw some Vances & Hines slip on . Make it sound louder & safer. I got some on my 2007 Sporty too😊.
Congrats & Happy Trails
God's Speed.
Hugs from California Goose❤HD
I’m sure she will end up changing a lot overtime
I like that sportster you bought I just bought a 2022 vivid black sportster 48 riding in here in New Jersey the traffic is bad it would be good to ride there no traffic by the way love the accent yeah 😊
😄
That's a really good looking bike! Don't see too many solid white! And only 4,000 something miles?? Wow....still new!
Yea!!
