3:52 you know, some dude who has been working in dusty, noisy and back-breaking conditions is going to have to pick up that cone and put it back. Why do you do this? I get it's not an easy thing to do on a bike, but surely there are better ways to show off your skills.
My favorite thing about these videos is how controversial they can be. You wanna punch these riders in the throat and admire them simultaneously. Some really skilled riders and Terry is no joke either.
Well the thing about fixies is that they are a different breed of cyclist. I know everyone is smash and criticizing but they’re mentality is very different than other cyclist. I’m just a weekend rider and ride on the bike lane with my bell 🛎, I’m all about safety. But these guys live on the edge, to me it’s cool to watch but I would never do it. If you guys don’t like the video you don’t have to watch it all. Just live your life and ride the way you want. Thanks terry for this awesome video. Big fan 🙌🏽🙌🏽 don’t let these guys bring you down.
braking tip: if your chain/belt ever pops off and you need to stop, just jam your foot between the back tire and your seat tube. works like a charm. Almost as sketchy as a delivery to an international airport or a hospital. also, been meaning to mention this to people for a while, but if you want a high quality belt bag/fanny pack with plenty of pockets, go to the building section of Walmart and check out the tool pouches. some of them have zippers and they work great.
I wasn't sure if I was overreacting at first, but now that I've read some of the comments I was correct in thinking that the American kat was being obnoxious. I definitely do my best to be mindful of people and cars but also have some fun. I never however ride as if I was more important, plus it is rather risky.
Hey man don’t worry about it too much. It’s true that these guys are reckless, but they have awesome skills and the way they just glide through the city, weaving through the traffic, is breathtaking. My favorite is Safa in Mexico City. I love cycling and going out on my bike is nearly always an adrenaline rush, but these guys take it to another level. They truly live life on the edge
I'm french, I never went to new york, I love that you get us along with you for a ride, It would be awesome to have a real time map in the corner of the video to follow where you ride. or at least have a google map link with the path :) keep ride and thanks.
I like these videos where Cooper Ray shows the places around. His commentary and Terry's camera work can complement each other and create some nice flowing imagery.
Yep! Those videos are definitely my favourites. Good to see you back in NYC and having a good time. What is it with the weight thing? I know Cooper was teasing you, but your prowesses make up for whatever weight you carry. After all, we don't have to be small, thin and young to be a damn good rider. All it takes is the passion to ride. Just saying you know, after all I do get sneered at sometimes because of my age when working in the bike shop (part time because I am retired). Sheesh. ;-)
Props to ya boy Cooper giving us the guided tour. Good to see Cooper and Matt riding bucked thru the unusually lite NYC traffic. Like the eery score! Nice footage good job pal!
Nice to see an American and fellow Brit riding together in NYC. And seeing the different riding dynamics of 2 riders who normally ride on the opporsite sides of the road from each other.
Maybe a silly question, but I don't see any handbrakes on these bikes. Do they use the pedals to brake or none at all? Seems like the bikes are extremely lightweight and can go much faster without a braking system.
What are the gloves that are being worn? I am in Northern VA so the temperatures get way down there, but usually no colder than 20 degrees at the coldest. Any recommendations would be gladly accepted. Enjoy the videos!!
"Its pretty empty today man!" It is scares me, that's how empty that road is. Cant belive you guys have this clear giant roads with this low trafic. What more at daytime! I am realy about to put 'ride in nyc streets' on my bucket list.
Nice ride!! Always enjoy Cooper’s commentaries of a city that he knows like the back of his hand. Hope you all do well on the race and I’m waiting with anticipation the videos from it.

Yo great clip! Question for cooper or yourself. When cycling with your camera strapped over your side is there a particular strap you guys use to keep it secure but easy to access? Mine dangles around way to much and is super annoying but if its tight I cant get it to my eye quick enough.
Maybe because of the fear of Corona the city is quiet. I live in a river/sea and mountain city and i go with fixie for 8 years. And i can say that i am the only one riding fixie here...first time getting stopped just because i want to respect the cop when he call and i stop my uphill and went to talk to him! No helmet, no lights, going through side walk mixed with the road, wrong way...and he was stopped and see me do all that xD But i love it when he put in that terms and i told him my side of the story! I think i am more aware and safe when i choose my way of riding like that than the ones who goes on the road with every gear on and just doing it on leisure time. I ride it for everywhere i go and as I said a lot of uphill...and downhills, and sea and river!
I really love your videos, especially these new York rides. I lived in New York all my life but I'm currently going to school in California so whenever I get a little homesick, you're videos take me right back. Just wanted to say that and to keep making great content!
as i said many time to brunelle many time . Brunelle show fury and no respect for pedestrian. The flow fluidity of these pair of cyclits shows a lot of respect. non rider will not understand but cyclist can appreciate. I love to ride liken this in paris but with gears. started to ride cities in 1998. 20 years was a blast. you were almost alone riding
I live and bike in NYC too and their riding sets a bad example. I’m all for going through red lights when there are no pedestrians or cars. But stick to the roads and don’t bike like a madman on the sidewalks with people still walking. There could be elderly persons walking.
Yeah, I appreciate the spirit of the content and skill of the riding but there's truly a lot of unecessary rude behavior that looks better in a smoothly edited video than it does to the people they're bothering. And the thing people sometimes don't realize about videos like these is that some of the worst behavior and close calls could be edited out. I only bike in NYC these days, but back when I drove, people like these guys were super annoying - driving in the city is stressful enough. It's precisely the reason people hate cyclists and fight back against better cycling infrastructure.
Nguyen Anhtu in essence both run a fixed cog in the back. When someone rides a track bike, typically you should think a Aluminum or carbon fixed gear bike. Drop handlebars, more aggressive geometry, things to look for like a tight rear triangle, heavier gear ratio. When someone rides a fix or the dreaded “fixie” I think more, wide bars, relaxed gear ratio, more of a single speed bike, but with a fixed rear cog. They are for all arguments sake they are the same thing.
Sounds like the city be making some changes without Cooper's permission. Big mistake.
