Thanks for the video. In many ways, knife training seems to be among the difficult to get. My health has failed, so getting any kind of training is more difficult for me now. If I had to defend myself with a blade, I'd want to be using a push dagger. While I'm not really trained as a puncher, I've done a little bit of Krav Maga and practice a little punching. A push dagger would allow me to hold the knife and punch. One problem with DDC is that many places that ban firearms would also ban a knife that was clearly designed as a weapon. I've worked in some places like that. I had one friend who always carried three knives, and he sometimes carried a fixed-blade boot knife as his third knife. I've never had a flipper knife, but they seem to be popular as a multi-purpose folding knife that would work well enough for DDC.
Another thing I hope you guys explore is that there really isn’t enough high quality stuff out there for higher end keychain self defense tools.. the 10$ Chinese stuff sucks.. I always have my keys on me.. and there are times I can’t carry a knife with me. For example Rmj tactical made a Kubaton but slightly to big and attention grabbing. Anyway love the thought put into this definitely going to pick one up
Folder needs one hand opening ability, solid lock (tap test required), no safety. Good point on deep carry. Practice one hand opening without looking, as you never take your eyes off of the opponent. I had a lock fail in a self-defense fight (liner-lock). Good advice here.
You guys should consider making a tactical folder. I carry for self defense mainly b7t I much prefer a folder over a fixed blade. I know a fixed blade is better for self defense but I am much more likely to carry a folder. Maybe like a emmerson knife but with better steel and fit and finish.
Awesome commentary, thanks!
Clicked for the title, stayed for the t-shirt. New sub…🤙🏽
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Good video. And of course it begs the question -
When will you be bringing out your Beckwith / Covert Trainer?
