ABOUT PASO ROBLES, CA
The City of Paso Robles is located in the northern part of San Luis Obispo County on the original trail chosen by the Franciscan Friars which was known as the King’s Highway, or the El Camino Real. One of the historic El Camino bells hangs in the Paso Robles city park.
Their early history relates that Paso Robles was known to the Indians and the Mission Fathers as the Springs, or the HOT SPRINGS because of the many hot mineral springs in the area.
Paso Robles’ growth industry-wine-has a long history with the area. Wine grapes were introduced to the Paso Robles soil in 1797 by the Spanish conquistadors and Franciscan missionaries. Spanish explorer Francisco Cortez envisioned an abundant wine-producing operation and encouraged settlers from Mexico and other parts of California to cultivate the land. The first vineyardists in the area were the Padres of the Mission San Miguel, and their old fermentation vats and grapevine artwork can still be seen at the Mission, north of the city of Paso Robles.
Commercial winemaking was introduced to the Paso Robles region in 1882 when Andrew York, a settler from Indiana, began planting vineyards and established the Ascension Winery at what became York Mountain Winery and is now Epoch Winery. When York purchased the land, it was primarily apple orchards, with a small plot of wine grape vines. York found that the climate and soil were more suitable for vineyards and he expanded the vineyards. Within a few years, he found that the vines were yielding more than he could market, prompting him to build a small, stone winery.
ABOUT MONTEREY, CALIFORNIA

Agreed!! Thanks for watching, Mike!
Though riding comes wonderment and monotony, camaraderie and seclusion, struggle and peace. It this range of emotions that make riding so complete, so fulfilling.
I see all of this in your videos and I thank you for that.
Agreed. Couldn't have said it better. The best of both worlds in many cases, and a sense of enjoyment from many perspectives. Those that get it...just get it!!! Thanks Shannon🤘

Thanks henry!! Plenty more miles to come 👍
The headwinds on the 101 N from LA to San Jose are no joke. I did that trip with a buddy of mine and the wind beat us up so bad we spent and unplanned night in King City as we were too tired to make it all the way to the Bay Area. Still had a blast though and plenty of stories for me to bring back to Sydney and for my buddy to bring back to Vancouver Island. Must be a joke in that somewhere, an Aussie and a Canadian ride the 1 and 101..........
Haha those headwinds sure can take it out of you. It makes you appreciate the journey that much more though! Sounds like you two had a great time. We hope to make it out to Vancouver and down under eventually as well!
Another great episode. L.c. Still looks sore. Everyone looked lit at the end.
See ya “down the road”
Thanks for watching, Abe!! He's since recovered quite a bit since this was filmed, and we just got back from an 8 day, 3,500 mile trip that Lance was able to take his own bike out on. Coming soon!
