Hey man, no problem at all and I'm delighted to hear the lessons have been helping you. Absolutely, as a leftie, you should play these left hand lead. Sounds good making a chart in front of you with the correct notation on, I'm sure that will really help. Lol on the whacking for accents too. Nice one, man, and thank you again for your comment. Hi Ferg totally out of topic but do you know Amir Bresler ? I'm getting nuts with his video "Fish" learning his beat (at 1:40) trying to be so smooth clean and fast like him, very inspirational, maybe it will give you ideas for a new video in the future ?
@@ferggriffindrums Thanks, I already have the sticking it was in the comments I can play it at a good speed already it was easier than I thought 🙂 I'll try to find linear fills on the toms maybe
@@ferggriffindrums As a 16th notes groove it's common but as a 32nd notes it sounds really cool with all these ghost notes on the snare and doubles on the hi-hat also I didn't notice it's based on 5 groups of 6 (+2 at the end) with paradiddle-diddle and variations, that makes it very interesting, I know you love 32nd notes grooves and paradiddle-diddle so that's why I thought of you lol
have you got any advice on playing with ur fingers. Whenever I try hold the sticks that way they always swing away from palms which makes it pretty difficult
First thing to try is hold the sticks at the tips (the opposite end to where you usually hold them), and activate your fingers so that you are playing the sticks into your forearm/elbow. Can practice rudiments etc. like that which will really help. Is hard to describe over text but will def make a video at some point.
