The BS6-compliant Jawa Forty-Two has started reaching dealerships. The updated bike makes slightly less power and torque than before. The kerb weight has also gone up by 2kg, tipping the scale at 172kg kerb. Check out more details here. Reports suggest Jawa could commence exports of its motorcycles to Europe by the end of 2020. Get more details here. The BS6-compliant Forty-Two now costs Rs 5,000 to Rs 9,928 more than before. It’s powered by the same 293cc, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine which generates 27.51PS and 27.05Nm -- 0.86PS and 0.95Nm less than the BS4-compliant version. The engine continues with the same 6-speed transmission as before.
The Jawa Forty Two BS6 also retains the same telescopic front fork, twin gas-charged rear shock absorbers, front disc, rear drum/disc as the BS4 bike.

There's one more feature in JAWA. While starting it if you twist accelerator, it wont start. You'll simply need to push the start button without twisting the accelerator to start it.

An honest review.
I booked my Jawa 42 on 05 May 019 from EV Trades Ghaziabad and finally it delivered to me on 01 Oct 019 almost 5 month.
I was so happy but as days passed I am very upset with my Jawa and ......
There are lots of issue like.
I am writing this review after 10 month of delivery.
1. Paint quality is so poor ek week mai hi foot rest k pass se paint hatne laga tha. From 3rd day engine leaked.
2. Meter issue. Some time Bike ka fuel tank full hota hai phir bhi fuel gauge empty show karta h service centre wale Bolte h ek baar on off kar liya karo.
Meter mai moisture AA jata h.
Kabhi kabhi n show karta h but bike gear mai hoti hai.
3. Radiator fan. Bike band hone k baad bhi fan kuch minutes k liye on rehta h jisse 🔋 battery empty indication show hone laga hai aur June mai New battery change karwani padi.
4. Since delivery there was rust on bike parts.
5.ground clearance itna kam h ki kisi bhi mod par road par lag jati hai speed breakers par to lagati hi hai.
6.seat issue. Seat bahut hard hai not for long ride only city ride. And not for family person q ki 2 heavy peeso bhi sahi se nahi beth sakte. Sheet ki lenght kam hai
7. Handle is little bit wide if u r thinking for long ride with this forget.
8. Engine heating issue. U can not ride it without shoe and full pent after 10 km engine heat bahut jada exhaust karta hai
9. Bike height bahut kam hai if U R 5.9 feet forget.
10. Break shoe issue bhaut hard hai after 5-7 km ek ajjeb si sound karte hai service walon se bolo. to unka ek hi jawab bhai *"sabse bade break shoe h sound to aayegi hi"*
11. After one service bike self se start nahi hui dhakka marna pada.
Old Jawa used to be a ruff and tuff bike but new jawa is like balloon.
12. Kabhi kabhi itna hard ho jata hai ki ABS lagta hi nhi.

Jawa 42 for all the modern aspects.. classic 350 if you are a die hard RE fan..
RE has a good ride quality but again Jawa has more to offer.. except for the point that it is comparatively shorter

1. Kik nahi hain
2. 5/6 day khadi rahati hai to battery down ho jata hai , phir gadi start
nahi hoti hain.
3. Galti se agar Aapne 1/2 ghanta Gadi ka switch on rah gya to phir samjo Aapki Samat Aa gai jaha hain wahi battery wale ko start kaarne ke liye bulana padegaa.
4. Gadi me Abhi se Jang lag raha hain. Maine Company ko Complaint kiya hai lekin koi sunwai nahi hain.
5. Ground clearance kam hai jise speed brekar aur chote mote khdho me bahut sambhal kar chalana padta hai nahi to engine me turant tuch hota hain.
6. Mejer: Abhi meri gari 7000 km chali hai lekin uske head se oil likhege ho raha hai Company me dikhaya to bol rahe hai ki hed kit badalna padega wo abhi available nahi hain, kya 7000km par kisi gadi ka engine kholne ki nobat Aani chahiye .
7. Petrol miatter Masa Aalha kya khoob hain kabhi tanki phool batata hai to kabhi neel Company se hi yese hi Aa raha hai kai baar complain kar chuka.
Baki Koin si gadi leni hain wo Aap sabhi ki marji .

Nice and informative. One thing that i keep seeing/listening is that maintenance is very high and there is a rusting issue. Do you know anything about it? Also the fuel gauge isn't great as it doesn't show the correct reading. Any information is highly appreciated. Thanks!
Thank you so much..I am glad that you liked it..Cannot comment on Rusting issues as it depends on various factors and maintenance is similar to that of any 300cc Motorcycle.. Fuel gauge can be a possibility as it's not digital but again difficult to predict as digital fuel gauges can also be faulty 😁
Nitish Neo Thanks for a quick response. I say about the rusting issue because I have a 2007 Pulsar Dtsi 150 and till date there has not been an issue of rust. You see where I am coming from. Hello British Ji, maine 2 din pahele Jaws 42 liya hai. aur delivery me baad 380 km chala ke bike ko that per laya. Yeh bike chalane main bilkul Markham hai. Par aaj jab main office me liye bike niakala toh woh start nahin hua. Ignition on karne ke baad jab start switch press karta hoon toh bike start nahi ho raha hai. Please suggest what to do.

Actually, Jawa finishing is not super, just ok. Many welding edges are seen and pinstripes are wavy. It's not hugely better than RE in this aspect. But yes, it's lighter and engine is smoother than RE.
