yeah agreed with this btw. sometimes i feel sad when people over bought food and later they will throw everything. if we bring our own tupperware or tiffin it would be good since we can manage our expenses as well.

Air nira : juice extracted from the flower stem of the 'nipah' palm tree. Naturally sweet. Best to drink within 24hrs of extraction, unless chilled / frozen. Otherwise, natural fermentation process sets, developing alcohol-content : hence becoming 'tuak'
once fermented it produces alcohol similar like 'sake'
the air 'tuak' ichang drank in kelantan was taken from a coconut tree, that was why the taste was a bit different.
Be careful..dont close it too tight if you want to keep it in refrigerator..it will blow up bcoz of its gas

The long kuih one is called KUIH GETAS (pronounce GE-TAS).. a mixture of rice flour and coconut shredded inside, then fried and coated with melted sugar exactly like kuih keria(I think you had made kuih keria before during in Hong Kong if I'm not mistaken).
The last kuih from the five called BURGER MALAYSIA.. it is a fried empty bun (the dough similar to doughnut), then they cut in the middle but not until seperated(just a little more than half), then they filled sambal in the middle, along with cucumber a slice or two. Like incomplete nasi lemak in burger style. You got carbs, sambal, cucumber, but no egg, anchovies, and peanuts hahah.

Just yesterday I broke my fast with nasi kerabu. Very tasty because it's a little different than usual. There is a little black pepper powder sprinkled with sambal nyior. Buy in front of the Muhammadi mosque, Kota Bharu.
You guys should go to the Shah alam one. More bigger size and you will wanted to buy everything 😂 Taman Tun (TTDI) u can forget about it as nth special and interesting there. I just went and came home with..

Oh.. I just realised the cover off each pondok is yellow. So the seller don't suffer from heat. At past it's blue. Nice
U can drink air nira as a slush too...freeze it then take it out of the freezer to let the ice thaw a bit...then crush the still icy parts with a fork & pour into a glass...very refreshing drink especially in this sweltering heat...🤤

I was born in Kpg Baru 54 years ago. If I am not mistaken, this is the first original bazaar Ramadan. It has been there as I remember since I was a kid. Long before the popular bazaar at Putrajaya, Shah Alam, or TTDI. Such a nostalgic bazaar for me. How the bazaar has grown tremendously compared to 50 years ago.

Apart from Ramadan Bazar, i chang & jimmy can try foods that only exist during Ramadan. For example in Kelantan, during Ramadan usually they'll sell a dish we call as 'Colek'
iChang and Jimmy, congrats for getting a renewal of your nomad visa. Even you have an expensive buffet buka puasa; both of you are having fun and enjoy the variety of foods to eat. I wish our minister promote the usage of mangkuk tingkat and bekal like u do to bring awareness of plastic usage and food waste. There was a promote for car pool and share car /public transportation long time ago for environment also one hour green earth hour where everyone is enourage to turn off all the electric switch but people forgotten about as gov no longer promote it. There is still "no car" program on certain area that is held once a month (every 2nd sunday of month) but its very limit and only on certqin area. I think u guys should colabrate with goverment to promote environment in malaysia. Malaysian public and waste management is still bad on recycling and manage our waste.

The nira that you had before was from a coconut tree. This one is from a nipah plant. Nipah usually grow in muddy swamps or rivers near the sea areas, where the water is a mixture of fresh and saltwater. That might explain the *exotic* taste. Definitely an acquired taste
Yes, nira nipah have sweet, salty & muddy taste, it is unique but not everyone like it
the long donut is kuih getas, made from glutinous rice flour mix with coconut.. the sambal burger is called Burger Malaysia or Burger Sambal ✌️

From the kelantan video it seems like you had coconut pandan nira, while this one is from palm. Palm version has a stronger funkier taste, and if not kept in freezer it turns to alcohol and vinegar quite fast. You can also buy nira vinegar for cooking

for ichang and jimmy, i dont skip ads because of the quality content as always.. for nasi kerabu, you can ask all the spicy sauce separated from the nasi kerabu (you may say .."asingkan sambal-sambal yer")
If you want to improve the sugar cane's fragrance, you can add a type of acid into it. I often add calamansi/limau kasturi to it, but if you're able to find kaffir lime/limau purut, you can also add into the drink. I can tell you the satisfaction after a whole day fasting is incomparable.😂😂😂
