I love minky. A tip for cutting fur is to do it with a craft knife on the back of the fabric, that way you are not cutting a load of fur off with scissors. Enjoying your videos x
I do them together. When I order the blanket knowing that I can get 4 Lovey's out of the one baby blanket, I just order however many baby blankets I want out of the yard. With my measurements I can get 2 blankets out of 1 yard of minky, or 1 blanket and 4 lovey's. Does that make sense?
So when I get the minky in, I will usually then just cut my blankets out all at one time to store away in my inventory and at that point if I get a lovey order I will just grab one blanket and cut my lovey out of that blanket and then keep that blanket for other lovey's because I can get three more out of the rest of that blanket.
So when you get all your minky in do you cut it all at once or as you get an order for one? Also what about with the loveys do you pre cut those? It seems like that would make the most since so it’s done and you can just grab and sew.
Good questions! Yes! If I have time ...I try to do that all at one time...if I don't have time then I would just cut the one blanket out as an order came in, but most of the time I try to do it all at once... and I do cut Lovey's out at the same time. Usually with lovey's, I only cut 4 out at a time, because I can get 4 lovey's out of one blanket, and I'm never certain if the lovey or blanket will sell more. I can always cut another lovey out, but I can't get another blanket back if it's cut out of. Hopefully this all makes sense! 💜
@@binghambliss4636 yes it does! That’s awesome. I’m working on my shop, hopefully it will be open in the next couple of weeks. I do swaddle blankets but I might add minky next year.

Where r some good fabric distributor?
Do you prep blankets and lovies separately? So you order for blankets and then order for lovies and prep them all the same way?
