Guess That Scary DISNEY MOVIE ORIGIN Challenge
I aced this so quickly because I read these stories at such a young age. Disney loves to sugarcoat the darkness.
Mimiru Doll same
Into the woods is the most accurate thing we will get in the big screen, I think. If not, please tell me
Disney is the darkness
Just a gallon full of sugar makes disney movies rated G
Me too.
In a way, you might say that Disney is the Kidz Bop of fairy tales.
Yup
ShycoWar but it’s better
But is def more successful
Yea
i was thinking the disney is the 4kids version of fairy tales except disney’s versions are better.
For Cinderella he forgot the part where the sisters got theirs eyes pecked out by birds
He doesnt want them to imagine stuff too much xD
Or Dancing to their death with a part of their foot cut off
And the birds sang to the prince telling him
“Turn and peep
Turn and peep
There’s blood within the shoe
The shoe it is too small for her,
The true bride awaits for you”
@@LyingG_G Well it was in Into the Woods
I thought the same.
Also in Cinderella's origins there was no fairy godmother, instead she cried on her mothers grave and magic happened. I guess looking at that from a bright side, you could say her mother was her fairy godmother
yeah she watered a tree that grew there with her tears
she cried on her mothers grave and there was a magic bird or something and there were three balls and at first cinderella got gold shoes
Well that is kinda cute
I mixed up Snow White and Cinderella original tales because of shoes. The evil stepmother of Snow White was executed by wearing a pair of hot iron shoes.
I thought there was also something with a dove
Can we talk about how in the original sleeping beauty she doesnt wake up from a kiss but rather from giving birth to the princes children after he impregnates her in her sleep-
BipolarEmma 😦 😯
so he raped her as she can’t give him consent while unconscious.
Very disturbing
Yup
That is false. Read the story again. Talia did not wake up from giving birth, she woke up when one ofthe twins unknowningly sucked the flax, which had caused Talia's deep sleep in the first place, off her (Talia) finger.
They left out one of the more gruesome details from the original little mermaid - after the prince marries another, the sea witch says she will spare the little mermaid if she takes a knife and murders the prince in his sleep. She can't bring herself to do it, and THAT's when she hurls herself into the ocean.
Isn’t it her sister who gives her the knife and tells her to do it? Or did I read it wrong
@@tnt9288 Technically yes, her sisters get the knife from the sea witch hca.gilead.org.il/li_merma.html
And they left out the fact, that the sea witch CUTS OUT THE MERMAID'S TONGUE as payment for her services!
Ok now I really want Netflix to make a series of "what if Disney princess movies were presented how the original story was told."
Yes I would get a job at 12 to pay for Netflix for that
Omg yes, I was just thinking abt this.
I would definitely watch that-
Not netflix, but those movies already exists
Not Netflix. It would definitely be in Disney plus.
Tori: Nothing like the Barbie Movies will ever be made again
Me: FINALLY, SOMEONE GETS IT
Facts 💯
facts tho😤
I mean it had dragons and talking rabbits and the witch had a weasle.
@@Slm99 Dang, I forgot about the weasle, he's one creepy-ass character
And that magic brush
When you know exactly why they didn’t include the original tale of sleeping beauty.
@CreepyDoll 17 ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
And i oop..
Such a tragic and realistic story
cookiezz heaven omg no stopppp that is not ok 😪
I don’t get it.
Tori is right, nothing can beat barbie movies, ever.
my favorite one was the twelve ballet dancers
SAME
Same and I really like the Rapunzel thumbelina and all the Mariposa ones
I can even name them all. They all are classic.
My favorite was The Princess and the Pauper.
mine too
Omg yes 100% agree with Tori Barbie movies hit different
Haha, controversy! - Lindsey, FBE Producer
These were so easy. Even if you didn't read the original story there were pretty decisive clues
"They weren't modified that much"
Pocahontas: am I a joke to you?!
That movie.. it hurts me
Technically, Pocahontas wasn’t a fairy tale, just a really poorly depicted part of history
What about Pinocchio?
Shhhh, we don't talk about that :(
Honestly I can't even imagine how they would go about trying to tell a pg version of the original story.
The original ending of Cinderella is even darker, not only do the stepsisters cut part of their feet of (one the heel, the other the toes) but when the prince sees they both fit in the shoe, he takes them with him they ride away on a white horse. However, their feet are bleeding heavily, so both times the blood spills over and splashes on the ground and the horse. There is also a pigeon commenting 'Guru guru, there' s blood in the shoe'. It then picks out the stepsisters' eyes, if I remember correctly😁
Woah Woah Woah I love when ppl give more info but this is to much for me I love it but also I am disgusted 😁😝😁😝
@@dancingflamingo5570 I guess you have to grow up with these stories...

wasn't it in Cinderella too where the evil stepmother get's fiery iron shoes or something like that?
@@semperfidelis1486 no, that's the Evil Queen from Snow White
I'm with you 100% Tori nothing can't beat the Barbie movies.....its my childhood
"It's kind of like kids explaining things, except it's Kyle explaining things"
Well yeah, it's basically the same😂❤️
What about when the birds peck out the eyes of the stepsisters? Or, in Rapunzel, where the prince wanders blindly for years until he comes upon a desert where Rapunzel and their twin children "lived in wretchedness?"
Mary Sassaman And when the step-mom needed to dance on steel shoes that where going inside the fire they got the shoes out and then the step-mom needed to dance on the wedding till she died
@@fatcow9010 Oh right, I almost forgot that!
@@fatcow9010 That was actually the fate of Snow White's stepmother, the evil queen.
Some of those dark stories can be seen in Disney’s Into the Woods
That is one of my favorite musicals
The original Brothers Grimm version of Cinderella was called Aschenputtel. This version had no fairy godmother. Instead she prayed to a little tree which she had planted on her mother's grave and watered it with her tears. That gave her the beautiful dress and the shoes. The stepmother threw a big bowl of lentils into the ash which she was ordered to sort out into two different bowls. One for the good lentils and one for the bad ones, to keep her from visiting a ball (not the ball where she lost her shoe). A swarm of white doves flew in to help her. (That was the first main story part).
When the time came to visit the ball, the tree on her mother's grave gave her the dress and the shoes, which I don't remember if they were made out of glass in this version. After the ball, like it was said in the video, the prince travelled across the country, to find the girl he fell in love with, by fitting the lost shoe on several girls. To convince the prince that one of her daughter's was the girl he was looking for, she ordered the first daughter to cut her toes off to make the shoe fit. The doves were watching all this happen and made the prince aware that there was blood in the shoe and that she wasn't the real girl he was looking for. The next daughter had to cut off her heel to make the shoe fit and the doves repeated to make the prince aware of it. After that he found Cinderella and the shoe fit. They married and on their wedding (this is the most gruesome part) they ordered the doves to pick out the eyes of the evil stepmother and the stepsisters as punishment. And they lived happily ever after.
My childhood is ruined
Aquarius97 u r smart
Didn't they also force the stepother to wear hot iron shoes and dance at the wedding as well?
You know the cutting the toes off thing is gross, but surprisingly they actually included that part in Into The Woods
Leila M.G. And the dove part was (I think) included in the live action movie Cinderella
Tori said that Barbie Rapunzel version is better than Tangled and im likee... i totally get you girl
IT REALLY WASSS I used to quote the part where the witch accidentally trapped herself forever
Tbh I still watch Barbie movies and I'm 18 now, hehe is that bad? 😅
@@lonelytokyo4210 No!! Im turning 17 and is also still watching barbie movies 😂 even hyping with their songs
Cinderella: the sisters cut off part of their feet and they live happily ever after.
Me: where's the eye gouging?
Brayden: "imagine if Disney kept that"
*Cough*Into the Woods*Cough*
Also, the origin story for Beauty and the Beast is the Greek myth of Psyche and Eros, where Eros is the invisible beast and can only be seen at night
@H20lesbiangirl Aww thanks
That is totally true
I know! As a mega Greek mythology fan (and a person who wrote the same comment yesterday never seen yours) I applaud you!
So that’s why I immediately thought of Psyche and Eros’ myth after the Beauty and the Beast narration lol I asked myself if the myth was made into a Disney movie 🤣
Tori's comment on the Barbie Movies. Yaas gurl!
Imagine their reaction to sleeping beauty's origin story
omg that one was so messed up, so brutal
What is it? what is it?
@@tanmaybhosale784 the true kiss of love is the kiss of a baby trying to drink milk from his mother, yep...
@@tanmaybhosale784 I'm pretty sure Aurora doesn't really wake up because of a kiss, but because she gave birth to the prince's baby. The prince 'made' her pregnant while she was asleep, if you know what I mean. And she was forced to marry him afterwards, because she has his baby.
Sleeping beauty is the most messed up .
I know in the original story for Rapunzel, the witch finds out the Prince was visiting because her clothes don't fit, because she's pregnant. The brothers Grimm took out the pregnancy part, but kept the eyes being gouged out by thorns. I know in the story I had as a kid, she randomly finds him in the woods with twin babies. They cut out the pregnancy part, but the babies were still there at the end.
For the Rapunzel one, in into the woods the prince losses his sight from thorns or something (I don’t remember) so like there has to be a connection? And for the Cinderella one the stepmother cuts off the stepsisters toes to make their feet fit soooooo
am i the only one who grew up with the story of rapunzel where her father steals a cabbage from the witch and then gets caught and forced to give up his daughter when shes born
No I grow up with that story too. I had a DVD when I was little and it had like all the old fairy tales on it
me too
I did lol that was from happily ever after
Sounds like Into the Woods.
I grew up reading that as well.
most of these origins where shown in the movie “into the woods”
Kaylah Larivee OMG I LOVE THAT MOVIE🤣
Ryleigh Doyle me toooooooo
into the woods was originally a broadway musical!! I love them both!
Don’t forget- Into the Woods was a very successful (and better) Broadway musical prior to the movie even being a conception in someone’s mind.
Can't believe they didnt include one of the darkest ones like Sleeping beauty! But I guess its too dark!
Julie Odden Lets not bring that one up 🤔😬
Too real that's why
I know a darker one. Like darker than sleeping beauty.
😐 I read it as a child by accident, and it scared me so bad that I couldn’t watch the movie for years.
@@katiesherman6517 what was it??
@@katiesherman6517 what is it
I remember reading the (I think) original ending of Snow White. The Evil Queen got invited to the wedding party and was given some kind of shoes. Those shoes were made hot by the dwarves (I think they were iron shoes). Once the Queen put them on, her feet were getting burned and she couldn't put the shoes off because they shrunk because of the heat. That way she "danced" untill she died? Not sure if I remember it correctly but it was something like that
@Omg you are so pretty i liked you Oh right, that's it! Thanks :)
Dreamy Angel that’s right I have read that, now I remember when I was age 8, I found a dark story on Internet, so like there’s a family, the kid playing some kind of tag game but with one person have a knife and the other become a pig, and at the end everyone die
@Omg you are so pretty i liked you oh, well, it does sound familiar 😂
at 9:59 Labib made me think of how Aladdin was originally chinese and how the princess is called Jasmine; Jasmine being a flower that’s popular (I think) in China and that’s maybe where the name was originated from. I only got this because back in primary I had to sing/learn a popular Chinese folk song called 茉莉花 which basically means jasmine flower. I think there’s other relations between a Jasmine flower and Chinese culture but I’m not sure haha
The origin of Rapunzel was exactly the story that was mentioned in the movie "Into The Woods"
Kkhheeyy Eeyyy all of the stories from into the woods was their origin stories. Cinderella and red riding hood too
Yea I have watched into the woods so many times and that is the same story
Well Into the Woods was based on a broadway musical, I love them both!
FUN fact- there is this kinda unknown Disney movie called the black cauldron that sacred many little kids and was almost a rated R movie if not for the last minute drastic changes.
*scared
When I read the title my thoughts immediately went to Brothers Grimm
There's more to the Cinderella story than the stepsisters get there eyes pecked and go blind
@Cosmic sudrrs no thats in snow white were the step mother has to dance in heated up iron shoes till she dies.
I got them all correct! The last one almost stumped me but after listening to all of the description I knew it had to be Aladdin.
That’s not the origins of rapunzel she’s not a princess and her hair doesn’t give eternal youth the witch took her as penance for her family taking her rapunzel lettuce
I don’t think it was lettuce but that’s the one I grew up with
Wasn’t it a pregnant woman craved some rapunzel plant from a witches garden and the husband went and got caught and had to give his first child and she named her rapunzel blah blah blah
Doggo The mad borker yeah that seems right
we stan the barbie movies in the 2000s
savs aloha im binge watching all of them?
Yess, Tori! Barbie's rapunzel, the nutcracker and 12 dancing princesses are so underrated 🤩😂

*“Imagine If Disney Kept That”*
Well Into The Woods Was Farley Accurate...
Yeah, same with the Rapunzel story.
Tori I'm with you on the Barbie movies. The Princess and the Pauper was my FAVORITE movie
*THE LITTLE MERMAID IS ACTUALLY BASED ON A GREEK STORY, THAT IS WHAT H. C. ANDERSEN GOT INSPIRED BY!*

Unaware of the blood dripping from the slipper

Cut off a bit of the heel and it will
And when you're his wife
You'll have such a life
You'll never need to walk!

The Snow Queen aka Frozen origins would have been impossible to get lol
Frozen got like nothing in common with Andersen's masterpiece

I used to love the origin stories as a kid cause I knew about them before I watched the movies

Rosalina Rosalina Rosalina is my favorite Mario character
3:01 That part of Cinderella, they show that scene on the Disney movie "Into The Woods "
i remember the movie "into the woods" referenced the original part from cinderella about the step sisters chopping off a heel and a toe so that the slipper fits them
The beauty and the beast one is really similar to the original story of cupid in the roman myths
Hannah Roosendans Thats what I was thinking lol
It’s weird how I got all these right, and the Cinderella and Rapunzel original story is in into the woods
I grew up listening to the most darkest origins of fairy tales by my parents and then got to watch Disney- but Disney itself can be pretty dark too
Same, my mother would always read these to me when I was younger
7:33 I TOTALLY AGREE!!
BARBIE MOVIES WERE THE BEST!
They forgot to tell for Cinderella! That Cinderella has birds peck out her step sisters eyes
And I believe a rock crushed them
Repunzel and Cinderella stories we’re in into the woods thats why I knew them
Same. When they said he followed her voice, I started singing..
"You know nothing of madness
'Till your climbing her hair
And you see her up there
As you're nearing her
All the while hearing her
Ah ah ah ah......"
Tori always knows what’s up. Barbie swan lake truly takes the crown 👑
7:31 Tori was speaking straight facts
I recognize most of them 'cause in the musical "into the woods" they put the original story of Cinderella and Rapunzel
Let Tori know that I agree, there's nothing like barbie movies, especially older ones. 💕
I agree, the Barbie movies are amazing and deserved awards. lol :)
They kept some of the gruesome stuff in into the woods which is also disney
Tori gets +100 points from me for the appreciation for the Barbie films.
People always forget the last part of the little mermaid. Instead of just dying forever, she rises up into the air and becomes a wind spirit. She then is met by other spirits that tell her if she does 100 years of good deeds, she can gain a human soul and go to heaven. That's why she wanted to be a human in the first place.
No
No what fucking tale are you on about she dies and turns into sea foam that's it
Yep, always bugs me that people leave this part out.
I got everything correct because I watched "Into the woods".
Background set for Kyle is amazing.
I remember the watching Tangled and early in the movie when the male lead and his buddy are jumping from roof to roof I said out loud to my friends "they dress like pirates but the move like ninjas"
They should’ve done the sleeping beauty story
Jon Solo fans got these all right.
Ive watched every single video of Jon Solo’s origin explained so i know every single one of then 😂
Hello fellow SoloFam :)
“As you may know, many old tales come from grim beginnings”
I see what you did there...
The story about Cinderella and rapunzel were more closely to the original in the movie called into the woods
Yeah i love that movie because its like 5 disney movies in one and they keep the ending of Cinderella
Actually I think, also in the ending for Cinderella, the birds peek out the eyes of the sister and the mother
As a German the Rapunzel story was the one that I was told as a kid. Like I kinda missed the spikes at the bottom of the tower and the prince going blind while watching Tangled. It was still a good movie tho
And the cinderella one was the one i was told
All I can think of when I heard the Beauty and the Beast story is the greek myth, Eros and Psyche 😂
Watching Messed Up Origins with Jon Solo had me prepared for all of these
We stan the Barbie fairy tale movies.
I have actually read the cinderella one at school and the stepsisters had there eyes pecked out at the end and the one sister had to cut there heel and the other one had to cut there big toe off to fit into the slipper
The Cinderella and Rapunzel one happened in Into the Woods
The thing is, I have a book with the original versions and those were read to me as bedtime stories
Me In 2018: Oh, So Snow White Is Basically A Zombie. She Got Poisoned And Revived From A Kiss. nIcE
Me Now: DANG THESE ARE DARK!
They should've told them about Sleeping Beauty. That story is the epitome of MESSED UP !
Meīめい what was it?
I got every story, except Alladin. I read original Alladin in my story book as a kid... There was no kidnapping. 😂
The other ones were either Christian Anderson's, either Grimm Brothers' stories... I read them as a kid too and they were exactly like Kyle described them. Christian Anderson's stories always had a sad ending 😭
Adam: "I feel like this is gonna be mellow. Like they weren't modified *THAT* much"
Me: *[Laughs in Brothers Grimm]*
Should have went after either the original tale of Snow White or Sleeping Beauty (I forgot which 😂😂).... the Prince technically did interesting stuff to the corpse..
If memory serves, Sleeping Beauty was raped multiple times while napping.
majmonteverde that was sleeping beauty. supposedly, the prince r*pes her while she's sleeping
@@rachhannah3699 But still seeing the dead Snow White in the casket, the prince ordered that the dead body be transported to his castle... that's still creepy...
I know a lot of these origins because i live in The Netherlands and we have a themepark the Efteling with a so called 'farytale forrest' with the original stories
Yes Tori is in this one! She is hilarious and beautiful
I guess that the Sleeping Beauty original tale was too dark to be featured... 😂
Agreed that one is probably one of the darkest tales (•_•)
All the characters in the movie Into The Woods are all versions of the Brothers Grimm
Robert Seide 😎 cool bro
Lol. I'm lowkey getting too obsessed with correcting people. The musical was the original with way better singers and actors. I still think the movie was ok. I watched the musical when i was 7
I remember learning the original tales in elementary school! Our 6th grade English teacher was like, “That’s enough childhood for you lot! Time to grow up!”
Pinocchio is actually a pretty dark story too if you read the original
It is dark, and tbh i like the original story way more than the Disney movie
Kyle missed the part in Cinderella when the pigeons peck out the eyes of the step sisters.
Cinderella’s version was actually in Into The Woods. so Disney kept it.
I instantly knew it was Aladdin even though I’ve never actually watched it! Lmaoo

I know the Peter Pan story how it was made, first there was this man that visited medical centers for kids who were very sick. So he made a story about Peter Pan to cheer the children up, turns at the lost boys are in heaven and that’s how they don’t grow up.
I got all of them right this was easy
