I loved this promo because there's so much relation in here. I like Chris Jericho and what he's doing.
But um, I don't know who's writing the promo if it's the wrestlers or some 'secretive creative' but they gotta stop giving too much lines. Less is more. Jericho was on point here. But Eddie gotta stop giving too much lines. He have nothing to improve in his promos, it's just that if Muhammad Ali just trash talked for an hour with all his best lines, it would still get hella unbearable to watch.

it was trash what r u talking about? the moment kingston brought up jericho leeching off other talent to get over i turned it off. There are some places you just dont go, some real life related things u just dont bring up, the self awareness just makes it look even worse... if eddie loses then ill never care about him again, he already lost almost the same exact feud to punk. twice in a row would kill the push entirely.

I wouldn't have had an issue with it, but I think there's some art and creativity to making veiled references rather than just blatantly namedropping. Like when Chris said "I saw your match against what's his name," he was referring to Cody. When Eddie said "you want Sports Entertainment, go down the block," he was referring to WWE's Headquarters being nearby, and while some might now know that reference...LOTTA people do.
It's a way to respect the intelligence of the fans who are in the know, and give the ones who DON'T know some "lore" and backstory to learn about.

Eddie Kingston is the greatest personality in wrestling. He's not a face, he's not a heel, he's Eddie Kingston and he's on a different level. He connects with fans in a true way

One of the greatest promo I've seen in the latest years. Just as the speech Eddie gave after the passing of Brodie Lee. This guy has the intensity and emotion that any performer or professional from any field should have.
Did anybody notice how Jericho switched up his promo cadence at the end after Kingston told him he wanted the more serious version of Jericho? He really channeled the 2008-2010 version that to me was his best heel persona.

Eddie played this so good. Just mannerisms and laughing everything he did made me believe him of just wanting to beat up Jericho. Then Jericho backing up and basically trembling towards the end as Eddie stepped up really sold Eddie in this. This is how you push talent up the ladder when need. A sports entertainment company down the road could watch this and see how it is done, because they seemed to have forgotten how.
They're too busy pushing guys from 20 years ago and making Roman look strong. They have no midcard hype whatsoever and the secondary belts mean as much as the 24/7 belt.

Jericho has such a legacy behind that he could be involved in stuff like jobbing to Fandango or losing a mimosa match to OC and the vast majority of people would still take him seriously. So he can afford to lose an exchange at the mic. This promo battle was to put over Eddie.
Exactly it was part of the story for Jericho to be back down in that promo the way he was back down every nuance of what Christiano does is part of the story the man knows how to do his job hes been doing it for over 30 years
Easily one of Jericho's best promos in a while and I'm really looking forward to this match because if Eddie wins at Revolution, then he finally has a major win under his belt and hopefully that can help him eventually rise to the top of the company at some point in the future.

Jericho has slipped back into the Heel position like it's a well-worn glove, and I am all about it.
Jericho is a way better heel. He did his best work as a heel with the title. Hopefully he goes back to being the best Jericho he can be before he hangs it up. Face Jericho was just kind of cringe imo.
Heel? He is clearly still face. Its face vs face but personal because Eddie made it that way breaking up a family, a brotherhood, The Inner Circle.

Both man are throwing dirt at each other and they are pulling the strings of what people are saying. Both are truly master of the mouth. But definitely, Jericho said some harsh stuff. Kingston is better at connecting to the fan but that isn’t going to get him to the top of the business. Which is sad because that just enforced what Jericho said about Kingston being a really respected Jobber.

I don’t know who came up with these wrestling terms when it makes no sense to me. I understand legal & reality terms, but these terminologies used in wrestling doesn’t grow on me.

Eddie is one of the best on the mic. He sells his character so well. Less talking and more ass-kicking.

Talks a lot of shit than is always tapping out or looking up at the lights
He literally does the complete opposite and it comes off as corny. Talks a hella lot like he's a thug and is a fighter and looks like someone's uncle in the ring and is always losing.
Eddie can talk the talk but rarely walk the walk, in any promotion he goes. We’re all millennial; majority of us who watches professional wrassling are born after 1980, we love words over violence even if we think we do; and we love people who we can connect to. True millennial traits.
