I've been waiting for this one for a long time with the fourth OHC being cancelled, so I immediately pre-ordered it. I'm hoping it sells well and they put out an omni with those other two series you mention in the video just to get everything collected in hardcover.

She's got some brief crossover into Spider-Geddon issues, but honestly, it's not enough to even really justify including those issues. Then she's got a handful of appearances in Spider-Man issues before the Ghost-Spider series comes to an end. So that could probably make a 23 issue (plus some material bits) hardcover without any problems. But for a while after that, she only shows up as an extra in some of Spider-Man's larger story arcs from Spencer's run, which aren't really about her at all. And after that is the Gwenom vs. Carnage tie-in mini from the King in Black event, which is pretty radically different compared to the rest of the content and would lack context for the book to to jump to out of nowhere. I think this is a situation where a smaller book just makes sense to get the material collected even if it would look tiny beside the original run omnibus.
I ordered the dm version because of the classic pose. I hope this sells well, for marvel to consider a silk omnibus that would cover her first appearance her 1st mini, her 19 issue ongoing series and the recent mini series

Well...I caved. I've been reading the series on Marvel Unlimited (the first arc and the Spider-Women crossover), and I've really been enjoying it. I really like Gwen's characterization, and I have no problem with her being nothing like 616 Gwen because, after all, it is an alternate universe. Robbi Rodriguez's art quality varies a bit, but at times it gets really awesome. Love the Spider-Gwen costume, and the Gwenom design is also insane in the best way. Hopefully I enjoy the rest of it, but I decided to take that chance (worst case scenario, I can sell it). DM cover, of course.

I bought a TPB which was supposed to be the first in the series, but 2 pages in it says 'Previously in Spider-Woman' Ahh, I thought, I need to find the previous origin book story, but try as I might everything I read insisted I had the first issue. It took me ages to realise that those 2 pages are her Origin, and I was looking for a book that didn't exist.
Great overview! Love the purple spine, and that DM homage cover is amazing! I'd be more tempted to buy this if the art inside the book was like that DM cover, but I'm not a big fan of the overly cartoony artwork. I also love Spider-Gwen's costume, the hoodie adds so much to the coolness of the look. I'll check this run out still on Marvel Unlimited at some point. Hopefully Marvel continues to publish the Tom DeFalco Spider-Girl Complete Collections; I prefer that Mayday Parker to Gwen, and while I doubt we'll see an omnibus, I'm happy to continue buying those Complete Collections. :) *EDIT: OK my resolve to not buy this one is weakening a bit. I'm not crazy about Rodriguez's human faces, but otherwise his art style is quite fun. If I fold with this one, I'll get the DM cover. Still not planning to buy it, though*

I ended up ordering the DM cover today after nearly pre ordering it months ago. Something about that purple spine screamed “buy me!” I also ordered the Aliens omni and I caved and got the New Warriors one too.
I can't wait to pick this up - I already preordered and waiting to be picked up at the end of the week. Perfect finish for the week and start of the long weekend for us Aussies here :) Looks like a really fun book and im so digging the art style !

From my understanding, the spoiler happens early in the story and that’s why you didn’t consider it anything major but since it’s THAT character, I feel like you should’ve tread a bit more lightly. Knowing that character won’t be around is a bummer. And just as a heads up, timestamps don’t show up if you use the app on devices like your tv and consoles so unfortunately that solution didn’t help me
I really do try to be mindful and then people complained that I didn’t talk enough about the story. So what I will do moving forward is to mention spoilers and then add the time stamps to the video. Apologies for this little spoiler.

I'm honestly thinking I want this even though I've never read any of the more recent "Spider-Verse" stuff. I've never even read an issue that features Miles Morales, so I know I'm way behind, lol. I've seen more than one comment about the art. This really has to be a taste thing and I get it. For example Frank Quitely in New X-men. My God its (IMHO) terrible and literally takes me out of the story. That being said I love this cartoony style and I feel it fits the theme of the character. I read the first trade and thought it was good not great. I'm still thinking I'm picking this up.
You know...initially I wrote here that I wasn't crazy about the art, but I'm looking at some images of it and I think I like it. I'm not crazy about how Robbi Rodriguez draws human faces (without masks), but it fits his style I suppose. But on second thought, I'm somewhat digging the crazy, kinetic energy of the art, and the coloring is beautiful as well. It's still a bit hit or miss for me, but I really like how he draws Gwenom, for instance.
As a newbie, not having a Vol 4 of the OHC come out completely put me off getting in to Marvel comics. I have the first 3 volumes and they're essentially worthless now - no one will want an incomplete set and I'd have to pay full price for this Omnibus, buying 3/4 of it all over again :\
@@luishernandezflores2715 No one knows. Likely lack of sales, but it was very strange because it was after Spider Gwen was becoming hugely popular with the release of Into the Spider-verse and the kids cartoons.
I was so disappointed as this was the first comic i read, that i immediately decided to never read anything marvel again. They were so expensive for me at the time and all that just to have to read the rest online, discouraging.
More of a general question here, but I've noticed that you store your omnis vertically, so how do you prevent page sagging for the bigger omnis like final crisis or blackest night? I've heard people say to put foam boards under them but they don't really seem to help all that much. The wise move would be to store them horizontally, but who honestly wants to display their books like that?
Cut a piece of card or comic board narrower than the omni, fold it over a few times to make it thicker. Then fold it up at one end, like an "L" shape. You can then put it on the end of the page block and slide it into place on the shelf and it will stay in place. Might need to experiment with the thickness of the folded card to support the block
@@alexh.2585 It's something I've done for years. When you put the omni back on the shelf, put the L bit of card at the back to support the pages. The tab should face the back of the shelf. The weight of the book pages will sit on the folded card and you can push it back onto the shelf knowing the tab will keep it in place
@@boardsomnis55 And it has proved effective? Because I'm trying to visualise it and I think I'd have the same problem I had with the foam boards, namely that the pages would just press down on the foam instead of the shelf, but the results stay the same. The pages in omnis like final crisis are so weighed down that they leave no space under them to put anything to support them. I even tried putting it upside down for a couple of days so that they start sagging the other way to create a bit of space, but no such luck.
@@alexh.2585 The problem with the foam boards was getting them thick enough to match the gap between the bottom of the hardcover and the bottom of the pages. Yes the weight of a large omni would squash them a little. That's why I've used card (not cardboard), and folded it over several times until it's the same as the gap, then fold a tab at the end. The folded card should be stronger than the foam board. There should be a gap underneath.
The design of this book, cover, spine & bookend page colors, are incredible! Looks so good! That being said, this run is very meh to me personally so it’s a hard pass. #NotMyGwenStacy 😛 I still can’t believe Marvel isn’t doing a 4th OHC for this! Would be hard for me to support this omni with that even if I did like the run. :/ Regardless, that has nothing to do with you and your video so as always I appreciate you showing this off! Really happy for the people who were waiting for this book. :) Algorithm gang!
For new readers? Absolutely. It’s the beginning of the character’s story. What I see most people having issues with is the art. If that bothers you, it may not be for you. But I enjoyed it.
Not sure about this one, not super in love with all the art, some is too garish for me, and after having read the first few issues, I was left feeling ah ... mediocre! 😅 I do really like the character of Spider-Gwen though. It's moar like classic come-of-age Spiderman, which I always appreciate and the female perspective is also somewhat refreshing. Since Spidey is my fav, I'll probably end up getting though. Btw, will there be a proper "Omnibus" for the Spider-Verse anytime soon?

The only book I would tell anybody to get before it hits $2000 is the first appearance of Gwen Stacy as spider Gwen I can’t believe back in 2014 2015 I bought a few first prints for $30 each. I told you I have a few 9.8 and they are $1500 plus sold on eBay see is my favorite female characters so I will never sell those and they are signed by the artist and writerz that is the only book I would tell anybody to try to get because right now you’ll pay under $2000. I also kept my amazing Spiderman 121 9.8 the death of Gwen Stacy and the following issue 9.8.🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Crap. I thought about taking that out, but in the first three pages it does a recap of all that. And Since it’s an alternate reality I didn’t think it was a huge deal as other deaths in the book are far more impactful. I added time stamps in the description of the video. Apologies for that.

No chance Marvel will ever release the fourth and final OHC now. Shameful. After 3 books costing more than 100 US$ they don't mind to screw us and try to have us double dip on an Omnibus. I stopped buying Marvel OHCs for ongoing titles after this. DC is just the same, they cancel long running HCs with 1 or 2 volumes to go all the time, but that does not justify Marvel. It's just wrong.
Same here, got them as they were released and then waited and waited for the fourth one and it never came! So now Marbel is givning me the crap option of either double dipping on an omni to get the last issues or buy two TPBs. Most likely I’ll just do neither and buy something else. Too bad cos it’s a fun and well drawn/colored comic.
Spider Gwen is a great concept waiting for a great spin or execution. Thus isn't it. Latour's stories are boring (run of the mill what if scenarios) and RR art is lazy and lacking in detail or impact. They should've gotten a proper artist like Joelle Jones to do her Justice. Even Gwenpool has more interesting stories. Such a shame, hopefully they'll get it right soon. DM cover is a soulless McFarlane homage MM cover is more iconic.

Are there were vol.4 OHC ? I have 1-3, and this goes beyond that, and that's fucking bullshit from marvel. I'm still at issue 23 and now I know, that there's an omnibus , that goes all the way to 34.
It is money grabbing pure and simple. If it was not they would've announced the final OHC for sometime later, in 2022, when it would not hurt this Omnibus sales. Waiting for someone from Marvel to provide Omar with an official reply since they care so much about us collectors... (sarcasm emoji on)
@@andreamateria3106 They also did this with the Doctor Aphra and Jason Aaron Star Wars OHCs to pave way for the in his. Super annoying, especially for people like me who prefer OHCs to omnis.
@@CinematicGalaxy I don’t think SW was as bad, seems to be just issue 31-32 that for some reason weren’t in the OHCs. But I’m like you, prefer an OHC to an omnibus, omnis just get so large an unwieldy. Lucky for me the Aphra OHC passed me by without noticing, so I’ll go from TPB to omni which I can in my mind justify to myself. But I would be much happier if they would reverse their publishing order as for a standard book, first comes the nice hardcover and a bit later comes the cheaper paperback.
@@CinematicGalaxy True, but at least with Star Wars OHCs they stopped at 1 or 2 volumes. Spider-Girl only needed one single additional volume after three (3!) already released during the last 4 years. Talk about not caring at all about your own hardcore fans' commitment. If they really listen to us they should find a way to complete the original OHC run as soon as the Omni recoups its costs. This is as bad as DC stopping Rebirth Deluxe Editions all of a sudden and leaving only a bunch of issues out from completing several runs.

Sadly it happens. For me it’s happened with new avengers, Gotham city sirens and a few other titles. I guess the sales weren’t enough to warrant it.

@@luishernandezflores2715 No one knows. Likely lack of sales, but it was very strange because it was after Spider Gwen was becoming hugely popular with the release of Into the Spider-verse and the kids cartoons.
I was so disappointed as this was the first comic i read, that i immediately decided to never read anything marvel again. They were so expensive for me at the time and all that just to have to read the rest online, discouraging.
Who else is still waiting for this to restock… 😩

More of a general question here, but I've noticed that you store your omnis vertically, so how do you prevent page sagging for the bigger omnis like final crisis or blackest night? I've heard people say to put foam boards under them but they don't really seem to help all that much. The wise move would be to store them horizontally, but who honestly wants to display their books like that?
Cut a piece of card or comic board narrower than the omni, fold it over a few times to make it thicker. Then fold it up at one end, like an "L" shape. You can then put it on the end of the page block and slide it into place on the shelf and it will stay in place. Might need to experiment with the thickness of the folded card to support the block

@@alexh.2585 It's something I've done for years. When you put the omni back on the shelf, put the L bit of card at the back to support the pages. The tab should face the back of the shelf. The weight of the book pages will sit on the folded card and you can push it back onto the shelf knowing the tab will keep it in place
@@boardsomnis55 And it has proved effective? Because I'm trying to visualise it and I think I'd have the same problem I had with the foam boards, namely that the pages would just press down on the foam instead of the shelf, but the results stay the same. The pages in omnis like final crisis are so weighed down that they leave no space under them to put anything to support them. I even tried putting it upside down for a couple of days so that they start sagging the other way to create a bit of space, but no such luck.
@@alexh.2585 The problem with the foam boards was getting them thick enough to match the gap between the bottom of the hardcover and the bottom of the pages. Yes the weight of a large omni would squash them a little. That's why I've used card (not cardboard), and folded it over several times until it's the same as the gap, then fold a tab at the end. The folded card should be stronger than the foam board. There should be a gap underneath.
Really not sure which cover I like more.

The design of this book, cover, spine & bookend page colors, are incredible! Looks so good! That being said, this run is very meh to me personally so it’s a hard pass. #NotMyGwenStacy 😛 I still can’t believe Marvel isn’t doing a 4th OHC for this! Would be hard for me to support this omni with that even if I did like the run. :/ Regardless, that has nothing to do with you and your video so as always I appreciate you showing this off! Really happy for the people who were waiting for this book. :) Algorithm gang!

For new readers? Absolutely. It’s the beginning of the character’s story. What I see most people having issues with is the art. If that bothers you, it may not be for you. But I enjoyed it.
Not sure about this one, not super in love with all the art, some is too garish for me, and after having read the first few issues, I was left feeling ah ... mediocre! 😅 I do really like the character of Spider-Gwen though. It's moar like classic come-of-age Spiderman, which I always appreciate and the female perspective is also somewhat refreshing. Since Spidey is my fav, I'll probably end up getting though. Btw, will there be a proper "Omnibus" for the Spider-Verse anytime soon?

Hey what’s up this is Bob in Connecticut yes I have told you I gave up working years ago because of comic books and obviously the older stuff nowadays you have to be rich. The only book I would tell anybody to get before it hits $2000 is the first appearance of Gwen Stacy as spider Gwen I can’t believe back in 2014 2015 I bought a few first prints for $30 each. I told you I have a few 9.8 and they are $1500 plus sold on eBay see is my favorite female characters so I will never sell those and they are signed by the artist and writerz that is the only book I would tell anybody to try to get because right now you’ll pay under $2000. I also kept my amazing Spiderman 121 9.8 the death of Gwen Stacy and the following issue 9.8.🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

Crap. I thought about taking that out, but in the first three pages it does a recap of all that. And Since it’s an alternate reality I didn’t think it was a huge deal as other deaths in the book are far more impactful. I added time stamps in the description of the video. Apologies for that.

I think they released around 4 or 5, but they didn't collect the entire series

No chance Marvel will ever release the fourth and final OHC now. Shameful. After 3 books costing more than 100 US$ they don't mind to screw us and try to have us double dip on an Omnibus. I stopped buying Marvel OHCs for ongoing titles after this.
DC is just the same, they cancel long running HCs with 1 or 2 volumes to go all the time, but that does not justify Marvel. It's just wrong.
Same here, got them as they were released and then waited and waited for the fourth one and it never came! So now Marbel is givning me the crap option of either double dipping on an omni to get the last issues or buy two TPBs. Most likely I’ll just do neither and buy something else. Too bad cos it’s a fun and well drawn/colored comic.

Spider Gwen is a great concept waiting for a great spin or execution. Thus isn't it. Latour's stories are boring (run of the mill what if scenarios) and RR art is lazy and lacking in detail or impact. They should've gotten a proper artist like Joelle Jones to do her Justice. Even Gwenpool has more interesting stories. Such a shame, hopefully they'll get it right soon. DM cover is a soulless McFarlane homage MM cover is more iconic.

Super excited to get this. Spider-Gwen was the first ongoing series I started reading oh so long ago. Gorgeous looking book inside and out.
Pre ordered it as well as I like all the Spider Lady characters. Just need to sell off my She Hulk Omnibus to pay for it and all will be good.

Are there were vol.4 OHC ? I have 1-3, and this goes beyond that, and that's fucking bullshit from marvel. I'm still at issue 23 and now I know, that there's an omnibus , that goes all the way to 34.
Thats exactly my mindset. Won't buy the omnibus therefore.
It is money grabbing pure and simple. If it was not they would've announced the final OHC for sometime later, in 2022, when it would not hurt this Omnibus sales. Waiting for someone from Marvel to provide Omar with an official reply since they care so much about us collectors...

@@andreamateria3106 They also did this with the Doctor Aphra and Jason Aaron Star Wars OHCs to pave way for the in his. Super annoying, especially for people like me who prefer OHCs to omnis.
@@CinematicGalaxy I don’t think SW was as bad, seems to be just issue 31-32 that for some reason weren’t in the OHCs. But I’m like you, prefer an OHC to an omnibus, omnis just get so large an unwieldy. Lucky for me the Aphra OHC passed me by without noticing, so I’ll go from TPB to omni which I can in my mind justify to myself. But I would be much happier if they would reverse their publishing order as for a standard book, first comes the nice hardcover and a bit later comes the cheaper paperback.

Spider-Girl only needed one single additional volume after three (3!) already released during the last 4 years. Talk about not caring at all about your own hardcore fans' commitment. If they really listen to us they should find a way to complete the original OHC run as soon as the Omni recoups its costs.
This is as bad as DC stopping Rebirth Deluxe Editions all of a sudden and leaving only a bunch of issues out from completing several runs.
