I recently started watching Matt Lewis and always like these videos. I sometimes disagree with his positions and analysis, but I never see the kind of rudeness, petty attacks against people who disagree, or frankly obnoxious behaviour that is too common these days.
It’s just fun to listen to the ideas and arguments, and references to things I grew up to. I’ve never had a problem listening to opposing viewpoints as long as they are delivered in a respectful manner (even if it can be a bit heated). Ironically, I often can’t stand people who agree with me when they get too emotional and can’t even emphasize with the other side or realize they have valid points.
That’s why I watch these videos.
The eclipse was not overhyped. The total eclipse is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.

Matt, you are incorrect that it would end with the return of the hostages, Israel has stated the deal is all the hostages for a temporary cease fire only.
Yes, Caitlin Clark's game is limited, but put her on a team with some other threats and they will win titles. Even Jordan couldn't do it until Pippen and Horace Grant came into their own. Think about Bill Bradley on the NY Knicks (great shooter, perhaps limited because he was mostly a shooter). I think at the worst you're looking at Clark being similar impact on a team to Bradley, who helped the Knicks win a couple of titles. But it wouldn't surprise me if she's a franchise player, because if they have to focus on her teammates in even a normal way, her game opens up.
Saletan was to nice to this guy. I know he did call him out and the guy ran. He is what will call a twerp.

Abortion is a bigger issue for young people, especially women. Americans are not that interested in other people’s wars.

It has not been true that Hamas could end the war by returning the hostages, recently it looks like that may be changing. The Israel government never said that was true and it just doesn't make sense if the primary goal is to destroy Hamas, which is what they actually said. During the one ceasefire and hostage/prisoner swap Netanyahu was very clear the war was going to restart when the deal ended regardless. Many people have put what I think is a very reasonable policy in the mouth of Netanyahu and I think it's just wishful thinking because his actual policy is too destroy all of Hamas' martial capacity. There can't be any excuse for the widespread killing of civilians because bad states would be able to hide behind it. Our explanation for using nuclear weapons at the end of WW2 was that Japanese military industry was highly dispersed in civilian areas so we can see just how far the good guys will go when they can just say the enemy is hiding behind civilians. Hypothetically if the IDF was actually targeting civilians would we be able to prove it? No. Israel has not been transparent in Gaza to a similar degree as the US military was in Iraq and Afghanistan and the very little we have been able to see is very troubling. Israel has even lost Joe Scarborough at this point.

I don't understand why someone isn't standing up and calling out Egypt for not opening their border to refugees. I understand they don't want to import the problem, but the morality of standing by and watching bombs fly on the other side of the fence you're guarding isn't good as well. You don't even hear Arab voices calling for them to open the border.
The MAGA people I know are older, transactional, and they just want to keep their taxes low for the rest of their lives for their own comfort. You can't name anything they would sacrifice for. Younger Trump voters are a mystery to me. I don't remember them articulating anything other than wanting to give everyone the middle finger.
Yes, it's incredible. No excuse to at least take the women, children, and elderly.

How did the humanitarian plan become move a million refugees through a combat zone to northern Gaza to live in bombed out buildings with no public services, when the alternative is to cross the southern border into Egypt to housing that has not and will not be bombed?

I am an old progressive so I’m totally with the young people yelling at Biden butttttt trump will just allow Bibi to level Gaza.
If young progressives punish Biden and help Trump win, they will have done more for the state of Israel than almost anyone.
This is political analysis through nostalgia to the point of ideological incoherence; should democrats pine for Reagan’s foreign policy; and why would a less draconian abortion policy by Trump reflect worse than a conservative who gets credit for “believing in something” that is more restrictive? Is it liberal or conservative to rehabilitate the Cheneys? The internal logic makes sense but you’d need annotations to understand how they come to the positions they hold as normative.
Do your homework these are easy answers and RFK just the hot topic Democrats aren’t voting for names he’s a Trumper
