Best part about this is that ever since the creator of this short got hired by Games Workshop (the owners of 40k) the space marines featured in Astartes are now a canon chapter.
They shall be my finest warriors, these men who give of themselves to me. Like clay I shall mould them, and in the furnace of war forge them. They will be of iron will and steely muscle. In great armour shall I clad them and with the mightiest guns will they be armed. They will be untouched by plague or disease, no sickness will blight them. They will have tactics, strategies and machines so that no foe can best them in battle. They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines and they shall know no fear.
Something fun: if you pay attention to the other pillars at the end, you can see the flashes of his friends appearing in the pocket dimension/(possibly)The Warp. I only noticed it my fourth time seeing Astartes or so.
The Astartes were there at the behest of the man in the red robes who was kneeling on the ground. He was an Inquisitor Psyker who was leading the hunt for renegades that had fled from a failed uprising because they possessed an dangerous alien artifact (The Orb). The Xeno orbs were from an obscure race called the Yu'vath that were skilled corruptors, twisting other races to their will and making them their slaves. The Astartes came in to secure the fleeing ship and then to secure the dangerous Xeno artifact. It is likely they didn't know how to destroy it and so they would lock it up somewhere secure. Depends on the Inquisitor. When time slows, the Inquisitor Psyker is overhearing the two orbs talking to each other. The one that was chained in the green sphere was likely contained in some way and so the other sphere reached across the connection and corrupted the Psyker. So after he was corrupted the Astartes Officers put him down with prejudice because corrupted Psykers are VERY dangerous and not to be trifled with under any circumstances. The two men in the intricate masks were Psykers and were likely weaker than the Inquisitor. The Orb had corrupted them and turned them into it's slaves. Not entirely sure what happened at the end, the Yu'vath were powerful and capable of a lot of weird stuff so it's unclear exactly what happened if it was some kind of mental game or if he was transported somewhere else.
Here's more Astartes from the same creator, a short clip, but not sure if we will ever see the full content, depends now on Games Workshop: ua-cam.com/video/P6D06QxSIrw/v-deo.html
@mordredpendragon1235 every imperium laser weapon barrel looks like that. Also lascannons are not automatic weapons. They're semi auto and need to charge between shots. A lascannon is an anti armor weapon which would punch through power armor with ease. Wouldn't be a very good anti armor weapon if it bounces harmlessly off of armor. Trust me, it's a multi laser.
@@mordredpendragon1235 Las cannon would've melted him, they shoot like cannons. That was a multi las it's literally in the name. It's a laser heavy machine gun basically.

That is really cool! 🤩
@@OleHerland ikr. I hope they feature in a book sometime. That'd be like as close to a sequel as we'll get for the time being.
While cool anyone can create a chapter as long as you follow the appropriate guidelines it becomes official cannon 🤓

1 guy made that. Sound, animation, voices (yes there are voices if you listen close enough you can hear it thru their helmet).

"1 shot, many kills" gonna def use that in the future

4:33 That is a Lascannon
It's a multi laser isn't it? A lascannon would've killed the marine.
@@xxchaos315xx6 No it was a Lascannon
You can tell that it is by the barrel design
