I have a 264 tilted valve Black Diamond truck engine. Gasoline. I wonder if anyone ever put one of the diesel versions of this engine in a IH truck. ? ? ? That would be cool. It would need a turbo or it would be completely gutless. I am replacing the worn out 220 Silver Diamond engine in my R-110 truck with the 264. Should be like a new truck when I am done.

      I'm sure a d282 wouldn't be hard to fit.

@@kylekenan2321 Is that a Diesel version of the same engine ???

@@kooldoozer It's a diesel, but doesn't have the tilted valves. I'm not sure if they were ever used in trucks. The main challenge would be getting it lined up with a transmission.

@@kylekenan2321 Ok thanks, So I did some searching.... Turns out they put the D301 (sans sleeves) in trucks in 62 thru 64 and they were non turbo. They were a non advertised factory line ticket build. The back of all these gas and diesel engines are the same, just use a different block plate. When I worked for a farm when I was 18, they had an IH 656 hydro tractor. I believe it had the same diesel engine. I was driving my 53 R-110 at the time with the 220 SD. Who knew now I realize all those years ago, the field tractor and my truck had basically the same block. I love that I still have my 53 R-110 and now I am giving her the 264 that I am building. Pretty cool. Thanks for the comment and the info that got me interested. Sure would love a D301 turbo for my truck.

@@kooldoozer You could get a turbo from a different engine and fab a plate to the manifold outlet, so you can bolt the turbo on, and plumb everything else from there. That's what I did on my 560. It's got a T04 from a 88 series. It gets maybe 5lbs under load and basically just neutralizes the vacuum.
