The mouse is outwitting me part of the time. He gets the peanut butter without always springing the trap. Am I putting too much peanut butter or is there an optimum spot to put it? My success rate is about 50% Please help.
Hi Elizabeth, The trick is to set the hold back wire just on the edge of the clip to increase the sensitivity of the clip to engage the spring. Just be careful. As for location place multiple traps against the wall, behind appliances and in corners. Good luck!
I have experienced the mice gently licking away the peanut butter without cashing the trap to go off recently and I'm wondering if there is a way to get them to trigger the trap easier
... Yes, use a small pliers and squeeze the catch ledge where the bar sits so it is more sensitive. (You flatten out the catch ledge a little). At the same time this will make the trap more difficult to set.
Totally humane solution that works to deter mice and rats from entering... peppermint & cinnamon oil but has to be the right variety. This one works great and available on Amazon. Lazy Cat Rodent Repellent
I watched and listened to about a dozen instructions and STILL felt like a dumbass. Your video I got the first time I watched it. Woohoo for you and thank you too!
If you notice, where you put the bait, it's curled, it's curled for a reason, you shove the bait inside that curl, so the mouse can't steal the bait and make it harder for the mouse to get at the bait.

Thank you so much for your help God bless you and ACE and the name of Jesùs Amén
Thanks! I’ve never had to do this before. I’m almost 50 yrs old.
Totally humane solution that works to deter mice and rats from entering... peppermint & cinnamon oil but has to be the right variety. This one works great and available on Amazon. Lazy Cat Rodent Repellent
thank you, I could NOT read the directions, it was to small to read
"In case the mouse is allergic to peanut butter." Classic dad joke 👌 this is the content I love to see 😂 also thank you for this haha
I watched and listened to about a dozen instructions and STILL felt like a dumbass. Your video I got the first time I watched it. Woohoo for you and thank you too!
The only thing I have been catching are my fingers I hate these stupid traps
If you notice, where you put the bait, it's curled, it's curled for a reason, you shove the bait inside that curl, so the mouse can't steal the bait and make it harder for the mouse to get at the bait.
LOL you're pretty funny but anyways thanks for the video, I've never set a trap before and I was having a hard time and then I found your video, caught two mice already and I hope there's no more but I said a few more traps, those traps are real finicky lol
My husband baits the mouse traps with tootsie rolls that he chews first and adds to the trap. It works great!
Thank you! I’ve been setting it wrong and they keep stealing my peanut butter!
I was having trouble explaining this to my daughter over the phone. It's her first apartment and this video helped tremendously. Thank you!
