This intro never fails to get me unbelievably hyped. I’ve been a DMC fan since DMC3, which was my first real experience with the character-based action genre. I quickly fell in love with the fast, smooth, intense combat system and enjoyed many hours in the demon-filled world of DMC3. I also thoroughly enjoyed DMC4, and was thoroughly disappointed with the ‘soft reboot’ DMC: Devil May Cry, which had passable combat and a semi-interesting story but simply didn’t feel like Devil May Cry. When DMC5 was announced, I was cautiously optimistic. The demo, featuring most of the first level, made me even more excited for the proper return of my favorite action franchise. When I finally started up the game, played through the prologue, and finally saw this intro for the first time, I’m not ashamed to admit that I was very literally moved to tears. “Nero is flying out the window of a van, shooting demons in rhythm to a jam of a song while the credits fly by. This game’s going to be just fine,” I thought. The game only continued to get better from there. Sure, DMC5 is campy and ridiculous, just like classic DMC always has been. It’s also got gorgeous visuals, a heart-pumping soundtrack, some of the best and most satisfying combat in the history of gaming, and - admittedly, somewhat to my surprise - genuinely solid emotional undertones in its story. DMC is finally back, and it’s better than ever. As a fan of the series, it’s hard to imagine a better intro than this. DMC6 will have a very tough act to follow.
Honestly, the warning cracked me up real good. I don’t smoke, and never will. They made the warning funny, so there is a better chance people will pay attention to it.

whoever created the character nico was a genius
Niro waving away Nico's smoke and sticking his head outta the window is the single handed reason im never smoking, actually made smoking not cool after all these years of it looking badass, (take notes anti-smoking ads) XD
You've raised an interesting point there that I've never noticed before. Ten years ago, the hero of a badass action game like DMC5 would have been a smoker with a raspy voice. Interesting how times are changing.
@@matti_xiii yeah i remember my grandpa saying back in the day he started smoking just to look cool, his friends did it and in all the movies too, turned into a bad addiction he luckily was able to kick, but im lucky i found characters, like dante and nero that i find badass and wanna be like at an early age, so instead striving for a nicotine addiction, ive always strived to be charismatic and to kick ass.
Its crazy to see just how far video games have come since the 80s. Never thought I'd see the day when video games have TV and movie quality opening credit sequences.
True gentleman 3:58 Never let a lady light up her own cig
He did it despite his own dislike of cigarette.
To be fair, it would probably be a pain to light a cigarette while driving. Unless you're Bunta.
@@DerEthereal who is Bunta?
@@haku2597 Bunta Fujiwara, Initial D
Not really a true gentleman but okay...
How much bullet time do u need nero?
Nero: yes
As much as he wants
Demon hybrids are above the sissy laws of physics
2:15 ordinary peaceful highway in US
Crappy emo Dante: I'm putting my cig off in a demon's head.
Nico: THIS is how you do it kiddo.
The "This game does not promote smoking or the use of cigarettes" is just the cherry on top.
at 3:33 "if you can read this..." LOL BEST STICKER EVER
This opening reminded me of Deadpool.
Yeah, me too
Same 👍
@Darth Revan Here you go

deadpool wishes he was this cool
Stfu 😒😒😒
Dante has Trish, but Nero kicks so much ass with Nico by his side!
He also has Lady lol
I just realized now that Nero uses the recoil of Blue Rose as stablizers and to dictate where he will spin to. That is clever use of his gun while doing some Smoking Sexy Style shit.
"This game doesn't promote smoking or the use of cigarettes" is the best way to summarize this game.
This gave me goosebumps the first time I watched it
What I love most about this intro is that they just continue driving and just chill as usual like they said "same shit different day"
I mean, if you look around the van, several of the more expensive or emotionally important items are held down. And the smoothness with which they did that whole sequence implies that this is definitely not the first time they did this
Even after 3 years I never get tired of seeing this opening and hearing devil trigger playing🔥🔥🔥 been playing this on pc👍🏽
0:30 apparently attacked BY A TREE
MaXor is right
ATLANTA IS FUCKED UP
XD

The Nico smoke catch is one of the dopest things that I've ever seen.
I played this the day it launched with a bunch of friends. The moment Itsuno's name came on screen we just screamed and clapped as if he was standing right in front of us. This game is magic
If only Yu Narukami could fight the shadows like Nero fighting the demons in slow motion.
I love how Nero says “ different crap different day” when the reporter wants people to pray and say that it’s a trial from the heavens which is cool since he’s from a church in fortuna
Nero the left handed bad ass of all us lefties
This is legendary. Absolutely iconic. Most badass thing ever to be witnessed by human beings.
One of the best comebacks I've seen. Hard not to get excited when running the game for the first time and seeing this intro
Gotta love how he lights her cigs just to hate the smoke and opens the window haha. Masterpiece of a game!
Gotta love how DMC says fuk you to physics every time they get the chance.
Maybe for the demon hybrids like nero and dante
Its because they are just that, part demon
Think of say how angels can fly with those wings even though physics says it is impossible
Otherwordly beings like angels and demons dont necessarily follow mortal's laws, physics even
Hence why our demon hybrid heroes could defy such laws of physics to some degree
@@legendarydigitize2523 Yup, I think it's mentioned in a novel the demon world has its own physics.
omg this was so good
One of the best things about Devil May cry is that can actually feels as badass while playing Nero as he was in this scene.
People who made this game had a blast perfecting it. Glorious. Simply glorious.
This intro is absolutely perfect. That being said:
"Move fast baby don't be slow"
-Slowmo-
3:30 - 3:35 the can and cup follow’s the law of gravity but not the two boxes
I have seen the empusas so many times in the trailers and i only just realized they had human faces when the game came out.
Exactly what I'm saying So much detail! Nice work capcom!
Same I didn’t realize till i got full game
Yea I just started playing the game and on mission 8, and I thought they were just demon bugs until I saw the enemy bio
To this day Devil May Cry is one of my favorite games
The best and epic opening scene in the game history
I love how nerdy nico is and how hard she try to hide it lol!
2:02 this scene got me dead the way the demon was rolling 😂
I love this opening! The song, alone, just makes it more badass than ever! :D
2:12 Cue Bad@$$ intro in 3,2,1...Pull my devil trigger!
That van is Nico's Devil Trigger. It's constantly on, drains no meter, and makes her completely invincible.
Also QuickTravel
XD
Considering her line of work...
Best intro ever, and Nico 😍
So hype this game is finally out
This was my first dmc ever .. can you imagine how dropped my jaw was when i see this cutscene ?
This is how you properly start a game
Move fast, baby - Don't be slow
Step aside - reload - time to go
I can't seem to control
All this rage that's inside me
Pullin' shots - aimin' dots - Yeah I don't miss
Branded by Fire - Born in the abyss
Red hot temper - I just can't resist
All this vengeance inside me
All of these thoughts runnin' through my head
Arm on fire, veins burnin' red
Frustration is gettin' bigger
Bang Bang Bang - Pull my Devil Trigger!
2:55 such a cool shot
I love that Devil Trigger is canonically a piece of music that Nico owns
At this point that car is a devils arm
