Finally some Ford videos. Other then Ben an Dave everything is Chevy,Chevy,Chevy,LS,LS ..... Even parts magazine have 10 pages of rotating assembly for Chevy 1/2 a page for Ford.
🤣😂🤣 I feel your pain , it does get old , i wish the aftermarket loved fords as much as chevy we would be tripping over parts really cheap but no all i see is LSLSLSLSLSLSLSLSLS SBCSBCSBCSBCSBC🤦♂️
Nice, thanks dude for all this info you give us! For free! I remember scrambling through old fast ford and 5.0 magazines back in the day to find the best parts, you know bang for your Buck type deal. Defiantly are considering these for my newly acquired 5.0.
I watch so much of your stuff and can't believe I missed this video! I bought a set of these IDENTICAL heads from Aeroflow in Australia for my old mans 408 windsor and was surprised how well they were cast. Very nice to see your flow bench numbers back up what their flow bench testing produced too. Look forward to seeing how they go, thank you so much for this test!
I got a set and the guides were tight and the seats were a bit off. Also, valve spacing is off and individual rockers didn’t work as well as I wanted so I went to shaft rockers. Hone the guides a bit and touch up the seats and they run well
Getting hard to keep track of them all these days, that's the X head from them not the maxx series for sbf right?... Think flotek Used that casting for the hammer heads with the 8mm guides too. Seen a Canadian shop selling them as PW performance world too. Be interesting to see what the 185s do.
Great video as always. I always worry about the accuracy of deck thickness for head gasket retention on small block ford , so I'll stick with my old AFR Renegades.
I noticed on the video you said it wasn't the promaxx head so if some one was to want this head that's you reviewed how do I go about finding which one it is
Hey Eric. I see that the heads are marked 205 and the flow numbers are pretty much in line with the FloTek 205 hammer heads but on the paper from your flow bench it sais these are the 210cc ProMaxx Projext "X". Can you Clarify which these are? I know they start off as the same castings but am trying to figure out if either company does extra work to the heads during assembly to differentiate them from one another and to see if the ProMaxx heads may actually flow more than the Floteks as is advertised. Thanks.
Also, there is difference between your numbers and those published on their site....I am new to all this so I am wondering why? ....Measuring equipment?
So are these flotek “the hammer” heads? I have been wondering about these for a long time. Assuming that these are at least the same casting that’s pretty impressive for a $500 head.
The one thing that makes me laugh about all these China heads at least for sbf's is dart sells this 205 tweaked "afr" clone in the shp line, and AFR sells the tweaked dart pro 1 clone as the enforcer heads.... Private equity groups buying up all the brands are going to destroy this industry.
I realize it's an apples to oranges comparison, but for a Street 427 (actually a 428, 4.125bore/4.0stoke) application, would it be 'better' to start with these heads or the TFS HiPort heads ? The reason I ask is because about a year ago, you really seemed to like the TFS HiPort 240 CNC version.
You say most of the power from port work comes an inch before the valve and an inch after the valve. I totally understand how you port a head an inch before the valve, however, the only thing I can think of an inch after the valve would be deshrouding the valve and softening the chamber. Is this what you mean or is there something else I’m missing?
Anyone know which “brand” these are ? I’m looking for some budget heads for a 351 build that I eventually plan to stroke and these look like they would be great options.
I made good hp with the 347 i built with victor jr. Ported head super victor intake 670 690 lift 264/272@.50 at 12.5 to 1 made 590 hp at 8500 rpm it sucked trying to drive at low speeds in the pits but was nasty up top i think i could have made more with the newer technology and stuff thats out now
@@coarsegrind as the name applies. its a sand paper rolled up into a "cartridge" or roll. different grits 40/60/80/120 typically. used typically for sanding stuff. or final finish port work/ blend work for cylinder head porting
For all you Chevy SB guys a 220/2.180 ----227/ 2.34 port sq inches respectively VS the Ford 205 head at 2.30 sq.inches . So please stop comparing runner sizes !!!!!!! The AFR 220/227 and the Ford 205 work well on 400 chev ,,,408 ford for street/strip engines being well proven . 220approx 6500rpm the 227 7000 rpm and the 205 upto 7000rpm

Will you be doing the follow up video? Really interested, thinking of buying a set. Thanks for your awesome videos Eric.
Nice. Thanks for the video Eric. I'd be interested to hear in the future about seat material quality and your thoughts after porting.
Thanks for doing honest videos. It really helps.
What I noticed on the intake is that every number is bigger than the previous one. Points to good port stability.
I really like these vids. Tons of relevant information.

That's good to know, I might give aeroflow a go over iron heads.
So how did the heads run out a year later?
Dam that is impressive. Thank you for your time Eric may have to get a set someday for my wife's car.
Wow, that really is a nice looking head! Man that makes me want to build a real budget SBF...

Nice to see at least one company is putting out good Chinese castings.
Not a ford guy but it’s an awesome video to watch and learn from as always. Thank you!
Wondering how much better it would have flowed on a 4.155 bore. Nice video thanks .
Thanks for the review, i'm wondering if cartridge roll'n the runners would help. Or would it not make much difference.
Great video! Have u ever flowed the cnc (shocker) versions? Very curious about those
Great smooth casting...very consistant looking chambers...
Those would be great on a 408w street engine or for a high torque 1/2 ton pickup stroker.
Thank you for the information!!

Where is the 185 video!? Love your videos, keep up the ford content!
What is the best Cleveland style aftermarket flowing head for a 1971 SBF Boss Service block build ???
Yeah I do think Ill be buying a set of those for my 347 . Very good numbers and have had my eye on them since they first come out
Where did you find them? What are they called? TIA
@@billybodine4541 the closest is probably the bigger of the promaxx project X heads
Hey Eric can advise any of the other companies that sale this summit is asking about $2300.00 that is not much of cheap to me for knockoff.
That's a lot better that the other Chinese Ford head you flowed about 6 months ago!
So how much is the 205 head if you could tell us 🤔
Do you know how much a 440 906 stock head flows with maybe mild porting? Trying to get the right cam. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for sharing

Have you ever worked on SBF Gurney Westlake heads?

Are there any FE heads out there that are good? We had BBM, BT, Trick Flow, now it is like a desert.
Did you ever get around to flowing the 185 ? If so what were it's numbers. Please and thanks
So are these flotek “the hammer” heads? I have been wondering about these for a long time. Assuming that these are at least the same casting that’s pretty impressive for a $500 head.
I would say yes..... Looks like darts also selling them now as there shp sbf head... Wonder how long until liberty or afr starts selling them too.
Afr renegade castings are now Chinese. It appears edelbrock and buddy bar can't supply
Quality control issues with Buddy Barr.
So is it a promaxx head or no?
Do you have part number to order it

I depends on RPM but Trick Flow in general are better.
I know where you got those heads. been waiting to see this video...
Eric, could you please post the 8mm valve weights for AFR 205, SBF heads? Our 205cc AFR heads are the older 11/32" stems. Thanks
I don’t have that info.
What company in china got from
