I think the screams sounded too Jotaro rather than Erwin. I'm no voice acting expert but it would've been cool if he gave Erwin a different kind of scream than Jotaro's. Erwin's normal speaking voice is "Erwin" though. I'm sure the VA has range since he played Sébastian from black butler and was kinda unrecognizable in that role.

The idea of a world outside the walls. But thats just my opinion. Im no writer, so i wouldnt know how to expand on those ideas to make it deeper
Everyone is entitled to opinion but it is also known fact that the series peaked at season 3 minus the Reiner plot armor at the end of S3. S4 diverted out expectations started strong and then turn into mumbo jumbo to help portray how pointless the idea of freedom is. I understand the the point of the ending and it's execution but it surely could have been better or went an original direction

With the outside world wrecked from the Rumbling, it’s realistically only a matter of time before Paradis runs out of resources for a second time and has go back to living in the dark ages because all of the other resources would have been destroyed. Paradis could have benefited a lot from the outside world remaining intact if only anyone on Paradis had Erwin’s negotiating power and reasoning. Also, he would have been more proactive in stopping the fascist, nationalist, and cult-like Yeagarists from taking control of the government. What I’m saying is that Erwin would have been much smarter and more efficient about this whole situation than Eren, Armin, or Hange could ever be. Season 4 would have played out completely differently.

Always love the part where Erwin yells “ADVANCE!!!” while a Titan is gnawing on his arm. Even when he must be going through unimaginable pain, he’s still giving his men the morale and strength to continue without him. What a true chad.
I don't think the pain kicks in right away with an injury like that. I was nearby when someone had their foot crushed, he didn't feel a thing until the shock wore off. I myself had the tip of my thumb cut off and the shock drowned out the pain completely for a good minute. There's a huge rush of adrenaline also.

Better people have explained it but I think it’s actually a blessing he didn’t get to make it. Think about it: if he DID, he would’ve realized that everything he did just to make it to that one spot would’ve have been for really NOTHING. If he found that photo, he would’ve still had to kill perhaps even a thousand more troops to fight off in ANOTHER WAR. He was tired as shit having to be the one leading so many to They deaths. But when he gave up and lead his troops into their deaths one last time, he felt truly liberated and died guilt free that he was no longer just using troops to get to his dream alone. Erwin is one of the best portrayals of an inspirational leader. He’s charismatic, bold and intelligent. He leads from the front, down in the dirt with his men, and doesn’t falter in his mission, even when his intestines are shredded by rocks or his arm is being bitten off.

The second scene is so underrated. He charges first without hesitation and states it plainly why Eren is crucial and without asking he just tells them to give their hearts. Even when in the mouth of a titan he does not stop telling them to advance. Love it! I think Every leader brought something to the table in the series and Erwin being one of the earliest was a good choice. At the start things were so bleak, Unsure if they would be able to overcome the titans but Erwin basically was the quote "Do not go quietly into that good night" personified and that inspired everyone around him. Voice actor killed it.
The cool thing with Erwin is that he's not just a badass. Everything that he did was to achieve his goal, to learn the truth about the world, and he would have be ready to sacrifice anything for his dream even humanity. But when the choice came between humanity and fulfilling his dream, he simply couldn't do it because of his sense of duty toward all the ones who gave their life trusting him. He had no choice but to give his life trusting the ones after him. Brilliant character
Also give credit to levi for that scene, he spoke to him as a close friend, he broke the chain of command and ordered Erwin to die and execute his suicide plan. This show is just gold man.
The Shinzou wo Sasageyo when he's on horse back is so iconic. But nothing will ever give me goosebumps like what the scream from atop the wall does. Man has given his entire life to the Survey Corps and going beyond the wall and only ever been criticised for it. But here he is. His corps been cheered on. That damn smile he has in that moment is just epic

During my conscript time there was one young lietuanant trainee like Erwin. He could lift your spirits just by talking and giving the right words. I was very bad at the army and I still remember this one morning jog/march where I was about to drop and could not keep up. He would run next to me and give this uplifting speech and at that moment I had extra energy to run in front of the line and keep it up there. One of those guys you would follow to death and become loyal over your own country.
The moment we realized that Erwin really has priorities and not just sending his men to their death. He send men to their death and make them as the bait not because he's afraid of death but because he's more needed to humanity than those ordinary soldiers. He would sacrifice them and make use of their sacrifice. He thinks his life is worth more than his subordinates since he's a tactical commander and his brilliance is what leads them. However when he deduced that a person is more important than him, he is also willing to die. For example in this case, He decided that Eren is worth more than many lives and worth more than his own life. This scene shows that he is a commander who made logic his code. Every decision he takes is logical, including sending his men to their deaths and even forfeiting his life.
The saddest part is that he never got to know if there was any humans outside the walls. The answer was on the basement and he was so close yet so far. But what else could he even do when a wise man told him to give up on his dreams and to die.
You have to wonder if that wasn't a blessing, though. Imagine so much sacrifice, and so much pain, and then you find that it was being deliberately inflicted on you by other humans?
Erwin did get to know that there is humanity beyond the walls. He got to know when he got to know about Annie, bertholt and Reiner. He knew that theyvwere sent from beyond the walls. He knew it when he dealt with the beast Titan. In the end, he did know that humanity existed beyond the walls before he died. He just didn't get to know how it existed, in what ways.
nah I honestly think that’s the most merciful part. When Levi chose to save Armin over Erwin, he not only allowed Erwin to finally rest, but unintentionally shielded Erwin from the brutal reality of how the walls and the Titans came to be. Imagine all that passion and dedication to save humanity, only to find out that it was humanity that inflicted all that suffering on you and your people. I wonder if that would’ve broken Erwin, had he survived.

Plus, in addition to the needless loss of life, the Rumbling also leads to a needless loss of resources. The only reason Paradis advanced at all during the time skip was largely because of the resources and knowledge brought to them by foreigners, particularly Onyonkopon and the Hizuru clan. With the outside world wrecked from the Rumbling, it’s realistically only a matter of time before Paradis runs out of resources for a second time and has go back to living in the dark ages because all of the other resources would have been destroyed. Paradis could have benefited a lot from the outside world remaining intact if only anyone on Paradis had Erwin’s negotiating power and reasoning. Also, he would have been more proactive in stopping the fascist, nationalist, and cult-like Yeagarists from taking control of the government. What I’m saying is that Erwin would have been much smarter and more efficient about this whole situation than Eren, Armin, or Hange could ever be. Season 4 would have played out completely differently.

I don't think the pain kicks in right away with an injury like that. I was nearby when someone had their foot crushed, he didn't feel a thing until the shock wore off. I myself had the tip of my thumb cut off and the shock drowned out the pain completely for a good minute.

Think about it: if he DID, he would’ve realized that everything he did just to make it to that one spot would’ve have been for really NOTHING. The second scene is so underrated. He charges first without hesitation and states it plainly why Eren is crucial and without asking he just tells them to give their hearts. Even when in the mouth of a titan he does not stop telling them to advance. Love it! I think Every leader brought something to the table in the series and Erwin being one of the earliest was a good choice. At the start things were so bleak, Unsure if they would be able to overcome the titans but Erwin basically was the quote "Do not go quietly into that good night" personified and that inspired everyone around him. Voice actor killed it.
Lets be honest. Without Erwin everything would gone to shit in an instant.

During my conscript time there was one young lietuanant trainee like Erwin. He could lift your spirits just by talking and giving the right words. I was very bad at the army and I still remember this one morning jog/march where I was about to drop and could not keep up. He would run next to me and give this uplifting speech and at that moment I had extra energy to run in front of the line and keep it up there. One of those guys you would follow to death and become loyal over your own country.

The moment we realized that Erwin really has priorities and not just sending his men to their death.
He send men to their death and make them as the bait not because he's afraid of death but because he's more needed to humanity than those ordinary soldiers. He would sacrifice them and make use of their sacrifice. He thinks his life is worth more than his subordinates since he's a tactical commander and his brilliance is what leads them. However when he deduced that a person is more important than him, he is also willing to die. For example in this case, He decided that Eren is worth more than many lives and worth more than his own life.
This scene shows that he is a commander who made logic his code. Every decision he takes is logical, including sending his men to their deaths and even forfeiting his life.

The saddest part is that he never got to know if there was any humans outside the walls. The answer was on the basement and he was so close yet so far. But what else could he even do when a wise man told him to give up on his dreams and to die.
You have to wonder if that wasn't a blessing, though. Imagine so much sacrifice, and so much pain, and then you find that it was being deliberately inflicted on you by other humans?

Erwin did get to know that there is humanity beyond the walls. He got to know when he got to know about Annie, bertholt and Reiner. He knew that theyvwere sent from beyond the walls. He knew it when he dealt with the beast Titan. In the end, he did know that humanity existed beyond the walls before he died. He just didn't get to know how it existed, in what ways.
nah I honestly think that’s the most merciful part. When Levi chose to save Armin over Erwin, he not only allowed Erwin to finally rest, but unintentionally shielded Erwin from the brutal reality of how the walls and the Titans came to be. Imagine all that passion and dedication to save humanity, only to find out that it was humanity that inflicted all that suffering on you and your people. I wonder if that would’ve broken Erwin, had he survived.
Erwin speech would give his soldier 100% buff for sure
