Hi, I needed help understanding The Oxidation-fermentation O-F Test Lab. What makes it Saccharolytic? If it’s only Capable of oxidative metabolism then is it saccharolytic?

Hey. Great question. Any positive test would mean that the bacteria is Saccharolytic. That means they can break down sugars like glucose for fuel. Which tube changes will tell you how they do it. A nonsaccharolytic organism would have a negative test result in both tubes. I hope that this helps :)
