I remember you posting you changed your hair color to blue, but I guess I didn't really grasp it, even though you had posted a pic or so of it. Idk why. When I 1st saw the thumbnail to this, I was thinking "it's just a edit", but I now realize, it's actually blue. I wanna die part of my hair blue (been wanting too since I was a kid, but then changed my mind). What does that heat (hair) protector stuff actually do? Does it allow me to use that more than once if I decide apply heat (like a blow dry) to my hair more than once? What can you say you can do if you workout too, but want your hair in a more lengthy texture with a blow-dry?
Yea I knew it would look like an edit lol If you want to dye your hair blue and want it to stand out you have to bleach it ( I saturated my hair for 2 hours in coconut oil and applied the bleach on top of it, it protects your hair since bleach is damaging) if you just want a subtle, you can only see it in the sunlight blue then just dye it without bleach. Heat protectors do just what they say but if you add a lot of heat to your hair on the daily basis (blow dry, flat iron) it may not be so effective, it can only protect so much but heat is heat.
Keep your appliances on low that should help. Make sure you deep condition regularly and moisturize. If you can let your hair air dry before you straighten it which would help a lot. Blow drying and flat ironing in the same day are ok every now and then but I wouldn't do it everyday.
If you workout just make sure to wear a headband, scarf,etc. Create a barrier between your hair and forehead/neck sweat. And if it gets wet it's ok to touch it up with a blow dry
I kinda wish I would've knew yesterday too, because I just went to the gym without a cap on my head, and I been working out for a couple days, and I have probably sweated my texturizer out at this point, lol -_- kiannaluv21
Hey Kianna, do you know of any specific box Brands that are good for dying hair blue-black, like jet black with a blue undertone when light is shined on the hair? I am trying to get that look. Btw I like the new cut.
I don't recommend box brands honestly. If you want a subtle blue try Adore Hair Dye - Indigo Blue that's what I used it's semi permanent BUT I did bleach my hair b/c I wanted more blue than black. If you lighten (bleach) your hair before you dye it will show more color. If you add it to your dark hair it will be VERY subtle, hardly noticeable.
I recommend a *LIGHT* bleach bath it will lighten your hair a little and take the color a lot better. A bleach bath is diluted bleach *saturate* coconut oil all over your hair and let it sink into your cuticle (at least an hour) before you bleach then add the bleach to your hair, this link details how long you should leave it on then DEEP CONDITION LIKE CRAZY.
*fyi I didn't bleach bath my hair I just did the coconut oil and bleach, no bleach bath*

It only hurt when it was swollen and yes it is, it's hardly noticeable
