We were on the islands in November for two weeks and absolutely loved it. Furnas with it's volcanic steam rising from the sidewalks was especially unforgettable. Thank you!

São miguel azores my beautiful place peace and love
Those BBQ places you see families usually just go and do normal bbqs . My husband and I and all his family chose a spot and had a family day and BBQ . Each town has a cleaning crew, who trims and cuts the grass and cleans any trash people leave behind. They maintain their island very clean.

I hope you have huge dehumidifiers for the sopping wet winters in furnas. The houses smell moldy and must be repainted regularly. Beautiful in thr summer, but get ready. I actually live on Sao Miguel and have visited all over during the winter. Get ready.
