  • Looking to start waxing? A Beginners Waxing Kit is the best way to start. However, what is the best at-home waxing kit? Or best waxing kit for a beginner? First, do you want to use hard wax or soft wax? Each has it's pros & cons for a first time waxing. I will encourage you right now to check out my video My First Bikini Waxing Experience which should lead you to USE A PROFESSIONAL. Stubborn or a new pro looking to practice, please continue. 🤣🤣🤣 Okay, so let's cover this soft v hard. Again you can reference my other videos for more detail, but soft wax is basically a no brainer. You put on super sticky wax and everything comes off -even some skin! Soft wax is pretty much foolproof. Super easy to begin with, albeit WAY more painful. Soft wax should get ALL the hair with the first pass. However, with soft wax you can only wax the same spot once. If it doesn't remove the hair, don't try it again for a few days, at least. You WILL hurt yourself. I did. Hard wax is generally wax that need a lot more skill. However, a hypoallergenic, Microcrystalline Wax will be very flexible and more forgiving. This "elastic" wax will allow for more time before you remove it. For instance, Signature Series wax from Mermaid Wax will allow for a stretchy strip even a day later. I highly recommend an elastic wax for beginners. I would stay away from Amazon, just saying. Next, how much do you want to spend and what is included? Remember prepping the skin before and treating it afterwards is extremely important. The kit I use in this video doesn't include waxing skin care, so be sure to source that as well. Most premium brand skin care line will suffice. Again, no Amazon -IMO, professional opinion that is! CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN is the name of the game. Be sure your Beginner's Waxing Kit has; Wax (duh), Warmer, Stir Stick, & Gloves. The kit I use has a bonus Glitter Bomb, but that's just to make it fun, esthetic only. A HUGE BONUS in this kit is the Mermaid Mat. This allow you to practice laying your strips WITHOUT LOSING your precious wax. Sterilize your mat and work on a very thin even strip with smooth edges and a "lip" at the end for pulling. Again, I have a video "How To Apply Hard Wax" for more detail on this. Once you lay some strip just allow to cool and easily remove from the pad for placement back into your wax. As long as your pad is clean and you use gloves the wax is still sterile and able to be re-used. DO NOT reuse wax that is used for hair removal -GROSS. Bad idea. I can't wait for Mermaid to have skin care so they have a complete Beginners Waxing Kit. For now if you choose the kit I'm using remember a quality skin care line and don't forget Ingrown Hair serum. Applying this a day after waxing or so is key. No bumps is what we want. Lastly, EX FOL I ATE! I can't stress this enough. Like your vegetables this is a must albeit often overlooked part of waxing & shaving! Good luck and thanks for reading. Use code STARTER and save!

    Could you do a video of the other products you liked to use during your services? Like cleansers, oils, or any products you recommend beginners get to be prepared to start waxing clients. I’m a dual licensed barber/cosmetologist & I really want to start waxing my clients but I’m not sure what are the best products to get. I also just received this mermaid waxing kit as well! Thank you for any recommendations!

    I started using hard wax just this year and I absolutely love it. Waxing just takes the entire hair out so I don't have little black hair dots anymore.
    I learned a lot about application from your channel so thanks for sharing! I'd love to see a video on positions for someone waxing themselves. Like how to do legs and behind the legs(tough one for me, haven't quite got that one yet) or like when doing self Brazilians and trying to get the butt strips

    I know the warmer is a free gift and a cheap warmer, but I honestly would not recommend anyone use it. It’s sucks so bad and even when the wax moved slow like molasses and even slower than that, it was still incredibly hot. I’m not a professional, but I’ve watched a ton of videos on what wax should and shouldn’t look like and it was moving really slow when I pick it up, then I twirled it for a few seconds to let it cool down some more and it didn’t even run off the stick but when it touched my skin it was so hot.

    Hi, what would be a good or appropriate exfoliator to use on bikini area?

    • @kasijune7921
      @kasijune7921 2 роки тому

      For bikini area it’s best to use mechanical exfoliation (loofa or glove which is my favorite with your regular soap or a non scented option) After for best results if your are ingrown prone use a glycolic serum, and then moisturize! This is literally the holy grail if like me you get the ingrowns!!!! KIT is a good serum for down there :)

    How many leg waxes should a 1 lb bag last for?

    • @hissnkittenwaxing
      @hissnkittenwaxing  2 роки тому

      Hi Mikayla, for a pro ~1lb/leg. Depending on the quality of the wax. Obs I've shared many times less with Signature Series than Pro Series, but I'd still say ~2lb for both legs. I know this is why Esties hate legs! :/

      So 2lbs for both legs that all it last one person?

    The wax is high quality but way overpriced. There are other companies selling high quality wax for a fraction of the price.

    Don’t buy their stuff they have the worst customer service.
