Recipe Caramel Pound Cake
3 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
6 large eggs room temp
3 sticks unsalted butter room temp
1/2 cup crisco
3 cups white sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/2 cup milk room temp
Mix butter and crisco add sugar mix until fluffy, add eggs one at a time, put flour, baking powder together, add flour and then milk and vanilla. Put in your pa, put in cold oven then turn temperature to 325 bake 90 minutes are until done.
Caramel Glaze
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/3 cup of dark brown sugar
box of powder sugar
1 can evaporate milk 12 oz.
1/2 stick of butter
1 tablespoon vanilla
dash of salt
Melt butter, add 2 brown sugars, put 1/2 cup of evaporate milk and vanilla, boil for one minute on medium heat, cut stove off, start adding powder sugar and milk until the thickness you want, mix it well and get all lumps out.

@@BeverlyBlack I have 2 KitchenAid Mixers believe it or not. One is a Professional 600 Series & the one is a Tilt Head Deluxe Series 4.5. Qt Mixer. I think I better add this nifty attachment along with my lonely shredder attachment I already have but my gripe is, with my Tilt Head Mixer, what if I have to stop and scrape the bowl with this attachment on? I think with Pro 600 Series I won’t have that problem at all.

My mom had major hip surgery last august, it’s a rather brutal recovery from what I’ve seen her go through. Prayers for you for a full 100% recovery. This cake looks delicious, and that sifter is so cool. I use an old school sifter, however one of these days I will get myself one of those kitchen aid mixers and the cool gadgets as well. 😊😊
I completely understand what your mother has went through and this is not a easy journey, some people be saying they are doing all these things early m, bless their hearts, I went through the process and at times thought what did I get myself into, but God worked it out, one day at a time, I pray that your mother is moving much better.
@@BeverlyBlack Mom took two more falls after she started healing from the hip surgery, so it’s been a painfully slow and fragile process for her. She’s getting around okay but her balance is awful even with lots of physical therapy. My son and I are her primary caregivers right now and I won’t lie, it’s been very difficult on us too. I appreciate the prayers and kind words, as that is always needed.

Looks very delicious. It looks so easy. I just got a kitchen aid last year for Christmas and when I use mine it doesn’t mix the bottom all the way .

Is a caramel pound cake the same as any other pound cake but it's just cooked in a cold oven? Was there something in the batter that makes this a caramel cake?
Can I use the same recipe to make a layered cake?
It is basically a pound cake with different flavors and more buttery taste to it, the caramel icing is what seals it, I have never made this into a layer cake.

Baking powder like the recipe says, sometimes I mess up words that is why I put the recipe in the description.

What makes the cake a Carmel cake? Is the sugar suppose to be brown sugar?
The cake is a good pound cake but the icing with the 2 brown sugars and evaporate milk cooked right it taste lie caramel, this is a good combination.

I don't do grams but you can google it to change it over.
What kind of milk did you use?
Evaporated milk in the can.

@@kw5443 that is milk and I tell you that in the video, it was a year ago that I made this cake and I make different varieties of this cake, so I poured regular milk in the mix, the recipe is below the video in the description and watch the video from start to finish and that will help you.
The video shows heating the caramel to 350F. That's way too hot! You should really make a correction in the description.
