I vividly recall the grand opening. On that piece of property once stood an Atlantic Richfield gas station with an accompanying car wash. At the time I lived at 1427 Tamarind ave which is the street on the west side of the building (now long gone replaced by a massive apartment complex). Chalk up another one to 'gentrification' I suppose. That was my first job as a service station attendant back in 1967. On the east side was where the car wash once was which operated behind the group of buildings with Sunset frontage. If you look closely leaving Arby's towards Bronson behind those buildings you'll notice a drainage divit which heads east towards Bronson ave. This was where the auto-wheel-push chain track was. The original grand opening was something everyone in the community looked forward to. Upon entering you were greeted by a a HUGE (must have been at least 200 pounds) side of beef hanging from chains, roasting in an glass enclosure with juices dripping (As I recall, this was standard at ALL Arby's locations early in their fast food life). They also had the BEST Jamocha Milk Shakes made with real ice cream! - Thank you so VERY much for all the memories, I was one of your very first customers on opening day, and sadly, wished I'd known before hand. I'd certainly be one of your last Mrs. Leviton! You had one heckuva run. Sad to see it go. many, many memories and wishing you the absolute very best!
I just ate there this past April I remembered going there with my friends whenever I get the chance. Thank you for your wonderful service. I will never forget this location.
I was behind Mark Kriski once and he asked for double beef on his sandwich. The cashier didn't know how to ring it up ...there was no such thing on their menu. Now there is ...he created the double beef menu item! Sad to see Arby's go...but so did I... retired out of CA/Hollywood in 2020. I'm lucky there is an Arby's here in AZ for me.
Not that I was a fan of Arby’s but I went here plenty of times. It’s hard to believe such a long staple of Hollywood is now gone. There’s lots of blame to go around and I for one am not happy about it. People (VOTERS) need to realize all these stores are closing because of terrible politicians and their even worse policies.
They can afford to close these stores because they have others out of state... The out of state don't have as many restrictions as Cali does .. their labor costs are lower etc... California is a decent market for other brands, not so much these older breeds. Plus none of these stores have a dollar menu anymore .. not after 2020 anyway... So the entire demographic of people who ate at those places on a regular basis (probably almost 1/2 the customer traffic) are no more. I would have families come in and pay $12 - 15 and feed everyone... Now that could feed 1..

Those policies kept this location open with Federal COVID grants, she said that's the only reason they stayed open. She said Arby's wanted them to upgrade all of their equipment and they couldn't afford it. She said the $20/hr minimum wage didn't help. Why didn't she sell her franchise to another Arby's franchisee? My guess is, she doesn't own the property and rent increases also drove her out of business. That's prime real estate and who ever owns it finds more value in selling it to a developer that renting it to this lady. A lot of businesses are going out of business because they can't afford the rent. Real estate needs to crash like it did in 2008, renters are stuck where they are and so are owners because the whole market is over inflated.

O/T In 2025, California will tax drivers a few cents per miles driven yearly, so if you drive 10 miles per day, you will be charged up to 30 cents per mile driven which equals $3.00×30 days=$90.00 per month. I was told that the amount charged will be less than 30 cents per mile.
