Nice repair. You would get a lot more out of it if you lay the lid over the top and force the airflow through the evaporator. Look forward to seeing it installed and working 👍

Thanks for the kind comment Tony, yes that makes total sense, I should be somewhere near in about October for it to be used, I can only manage working on my project in my free time - which isn't much!

Ah I think I saw this one on eBay about a month ago! It was from York right? Pleased to see that the fix was somewhat straightforward and that there are bargains to be had for air to water heat pumps

This one was local to me, i'm in the midlands, bit of a gamble not knowing what caused the cap to go but fairly certain it wasn't wired to the drawing. Hopefully it will do it's job when I'm ready to use it 👌

@@Funeve good job on fixing it. Maybe expoed capacitors are a common issue? I seem to remember the listing having a picture of a really similar set of melted wires near a capacitor. What are you going to use it for?

@@jamesdc1993 Could be, there's a few videos relating to AC systems with the same issue, but for a £12 fix can't complain.
I am going to use it to heat a future swimming pool - buying things when they appear to save a few pounds 😄

Horrible taste in music.. there’s quite a few free songs that are decent, this is not one of them..

I was cringing a bit when you were stripping the Flex to fit the Bootlace Ferrels, get yourself a decent set of Flex strippers mate. Lidl do a Parkside one, it’s a Knipex clone.
    Thanks for sharing, great video👍👍
PS. I think I’d do some Polarity Testing & PAT Test etc the Unit before switching it on!!
So if it’s a 7KW Unit & it’s only pulling 1.8KW you’re getting a COP of around 4. Which is good mate. I’d also check the water Flow Rate through the Heat Exchanger. It looks like a Pool ASHP, so may not be suitable for Low Temperature Central Heating?

Thanks for the tip, I'll have a look for one the next time I visit a Lidl - great username btw haha
