    Ok, an old laptop brick is a REALLY GOOD IDEA for the electronic rust removal! And man, every time I see one of these rusty cast-iron restorations, it really makes me want to go out and scour every flea market and antique shop and recycling dump for discarded pans! People really don't know what they're throwing away!

      I agree, I am constantly on the search for more cast iron to save.

      @AJRestoration I originally thought it was a Benjamin Medwin cast iron, but it doesn't have the same makers mark on the handle. It does look like a Korean made skillet though. That steak you made looks delicious. Iook forward to your next video.

    I looked on your profile 'about'. It said United States, but I hear very familiar birds like the dove and mynars in the background. Then I see Adendorf🤔 Are you South African? Oh, by the way. Love your content👌👊

      Far from mooing, it can come out with a glass of milk and I'd still want it more rare 😂

    I was thinking you were going to take it even further with sandblasting and using the wire wheel before seasoning the pan lol

    I restored a pan like that. One morning I found it full of water in the sink rusting again😅

    • @AJRestoration
      @AJRestoration  20 днів тому

      Haha if its is properly seasoned it should not rust that quick.

    I have a griddle and a cast iron pan that i want to do this with. Not in AS bad a condition, but pretty rusty. How long does it stay in the solution? Also, do you think this will work on porcelain coated cast iron grill grates? I have a propane grill that i garbage picked, and all i have left to restore are the grates that have a bit of rust where porcelain flaked away.

    Hi AJ, Can I use a 12 volt 4 amp charger for the rust removal process, man that steak looks awesome

    • @AJRestoration
      @AJRestoration  20 днів тому +1

      Yes you can, that sounds like the specs of the typical car battery charger. It will work great, just keep an eye out on the heat of the transformer. Also some car battery chargers have small fuses, if the salt content is too high it might blow the fuse.

    A neutral oil for the seasoning would’ve been much better, and you didn’t wipe enough off before putting in the oven.

    Worthless video. Thanks for not sharing the spray stuff and the chemical you poured into the water after the electrolysis process.

      Its salt water with a bit of rust. Nothing special.
