If you are over 35 and went on holiday to Blackpool as a child this classic was the soundtrack to your stay. Took my grandchildren the other day and it's still being played. Brilliant memories.
Cheesy, memorable and the ladies are clearly having fun. Reminds me of the Bubble gum classics. Music to make you smile. Kind of music that lifts your spirits and gets everyone in the room dancing. Rather listen to this than most modern crap.
I've searched for this song for a few years, never knew the name but worked next to an arcade which this played constantly all day everyday and it's bugged me for ages
I remember this from my trip to Gran Canaria in 1991, but I could never remember who it was by! It's like a slightly naffer version of the Macarena, in a fun way :)
I remember this song from holiday camp at Mosney (an old Butlins in Ireland), but I'm sure there were words... #Everybody clap your hands, #Everybody stomp your feet... Anyone else remember that?
When you are at Uni and the lecturer talks about something boring and totally off topic not even related to what unit you're doing..🙄🙄 My brain going on a mini adventure..😁🧠👏👏
I live in Australia actually, I remember that here in the 80s, the local radio ratings were a two horse race between an AM easy listening station and a new FM rock station that had launched on the scene in 1980. Between the two of them they held about 55% of the audience. The FM station was introducing Australian commercial radio audiences to Pink Floyd, Queen and David Bowie. The AM station was playing the Klaxons - The Clap Clap Sound. AM easy listening radio in the 80s was awful. Do I need to mention who was winning the ratings outright at #1? SAFM Adelaide. They had about 33% of the audience in those days, their nearest competitor Today's Easy Listening 5AD pulling in about 22%. I can still hear that annoying woman's voice in my head who did those station IDs 35 years later. My parents forced me to listen to it.
