- My AP Calculus class recorded this video demonstrating some of what they learned in their calculus class this year. Featured performers, in order, are Keilon, Kevonne aka Li'l Twin, Chris aka Ciege, and Alyssia. The other class members in the video are Justin, McKenzye, Tameka, and Antonio. They were also helped by Precalculus students Brenia and Zach.
Lyrics:
Chorus: Up in Calculus we study real hard.
Keilon:
First we learned derivative, that mean derive,
Then we learned to integrate that's bump up, divide (meaning to raise the power of the exponent by 1 and divide by that new, bumped up exponent value)
We found out how to calculate, on the (TI) N-spire
We gonna show you, how to derive.
One way to derive is using the product rule,
That's u prime times v plus v prime times u.
Now I'm gonna give it to Li'l Twin
He gonna tell you about them limits too.
Tell me something Twin.
Kevonne aka Li'l Twin:
Local min and local max, we got an area, syntax
The N-spire will fix that, best to believe that
Find the slope, derive that, product rule multiply that
Quotient rule, divide that, Chain Rule you can try that
You can find the slope if you want to know the horizontal asymptote
Put it in the graph so you can know but be sure to fix your window
If the graph ain't got no limit, then dependent
Check it with L'Hopital, make sure you don't get your problem wrong.
F of b f prime is v, f double prime that equals a.
Integrate, differentiate, try to get to the second place.
Up in Calculus we study real hard
AB students never been a retard.
AP kids tryin to get at least a 4.
Mister G and Miss E work hard.
Chorus
Chris aka Ciege:
We do this every day,
Learn that PV and the A.
Displacement equals f of b minus f of a.
If f of a equals f of b, there is a point where x equals c.
Gotta learn Calculus for college tuition,
Velocity equals dt times position.
Cuz up in Calculus we study real hard.
and Mister G has us study note cards.
Chorus
Alyssia:
C A L C U L to the U S, put that paper on my desk so I can go on and ace this test.
You got ROC the SEC line, the SEC line (sounds like sag line probably means secant line)
F of b minus f of b over b minus a, yeah, I do this every day, yeah, I gotta graduate
I'm gonna rip this paper up and put this test all in your face
and if you don't participate you better cooperate
I'm shooting for straight A's, determined all the good grades I hope this on the record
Chorus, then dancing, tributes, and wrapup.
If all math teachers get their students involved like this, the students' scores would sore through the roof on their Leap Exams LOL! Great way of getting the students involved.

dope
loved it!!! Your students are the bomb!!
Awesome!
omfg this is so good i'm shook
aw-the little inner city names.
I agree with the implication of your question and also agree that a person's skin color has no correlation with the quality of that person's brain. I think that bitchslapper12's comment (besides the ill-advised use of the n word) was more commenting on a stereotype than being discriminatory or racist. In fact, I think bitchslapper12 is saying that it's a good thing that these people are studying Calculus. Thanks for viewing and commenting.
This is really good lol! The white guy is so white 💀
