  • In a world where the way we teach hasn't changed for 200 years, U-M's Dr. Elliot Soloway has made it his mission to make using technology into the K-12 classroom actually effective -- but it hasn't been easy.
His quest has led him to invest -- and lose -- $1 million. He could have given up, but he won't. "If not me, then who?" he says in this video.
Having been involved in the classroom environment for more than 40 years, Soloway has witnessed the evolution of the use of technology in education, and has even had an influence on it. The use of technology in the classroom is begining to change quickly, says Soloway, and it is his goal to shape its implementation so students and teachers can get the most out of these new systems for learning.
Dr. Soloway is an Arthur F. Thurnau Professor at the University of Michigan with appointments in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, Education, and Information.
