- A “standing army” of specialist police officers is being assembled to crack down on rioting, the Prime Minister said as he called for perpetrators to be named and shamed.
Sir Keir Starmer vowed to “ramp up criminal justice” after an emergency Cobra meeting was called in the wake of a sixth day of disorder which saw rioters storm hotels housing asylum seekers.
Former counter-terrorism officer Chris Phillips joins Talk’s Alex Phillips to discuss this further.

Facial recognition is about 60% accurate on white faces,that falls to about 40/45% for dark skinned.Spectacles and hats,especially peaked or brimmed ones cause problems.

@@carphunter5042 The largest turnout to vote in British history. Labour, Tory, SNP and Lib Dems didn't like the result so it was ignored for 2 years before Article 50 was invoked. It took another 2 years before Johnson actually took us partially out of the EU. Brussels still controls Northern Ireland and our fishing grounds and we still have about 4,000 EU laws.

The protests/marches in London were fine though. Those seemed peaceful from what I saw
